What is there to say it’s a sure fire. Minus one star for cold white low CRI emitter.

I’ve owned a couple dozen flashlights in my lifetime, the only flashlight that hasn’t failed to date is the Surefire. The G2X Pro series is nice and compact. Has a good balance between brightness and battery run time. Virtually indestructible, mines been dropped from 10 feet to concrete floors, dropped in water, left outside, still works as great as the day I got it. Photo shows the Desert Tan color just purchased, plus an older G2X that’s been heavily used on a nearly daily basis these last 3 years.

I have owned at least a dozen tactical lights and all of them were missing something. This one has just the right mix of high and low light options without sacrificing the simplicity of starting out on high every time which is the most important thing a tactical/defensive light needs to do every single time on the first click. Ive carried this light since 2019 and when married with the v70 hard holster is perfect for use on a duty belt. One other very nice feature is the composite material that is much warmer on the hands in the winter than aluminum that many lights are made out of.

Purchased April 2020 & verify that the G2X LE is a dual-output 600 lumens/15 lumens compact flashlight. Fits in the palm of the hand & the flashlights dual-output is controlled by the click button in the tailcap. The first press is the 600 lumens; second press is 15 lumens. The old review from 2018 about 400 lumens/15 lumens output is for the old model G2X LE thats since been discontinued & replaced by the current model. Id include a photo of the packaging, but Amazon isnt allowing new customer images. However, you can also find the specs on the Surefire website & google pics of the new packaging. The lightweight body is black nitrolon polymer & the bezel is black anodized steel. I also have Surefires 6PX which is entirely metal with an aluminum body & anodized steel bezel. Both feel rugged, but relative to the 6PX, the G2X feels imbalanced bc the bezel outweighs the body & makes it tilt forward. Just be aware of this if you plan on using the G2X as a handheld so that it doesnt drop.

Can’t think of anything I don’t like about this light. Without looking, I believe it’s 600 lumens, and the main thing/reason I bought it is for the single function tail cap switch. No multi-function high/low/strobe to fiddle with. And, it is Surefire quality. I do have a Brownell’s 500 or 600 lumens light with multi-function, recessed tail cap. But this light has a tail cap switch that is proud, making activation easier with a variety of shooting methods.

This flashlight is light, durable, and extraordinarily bright. It is important to understand that this is a tactical flashlight, NOT an every day carry flashlight. It achieves its brightness by hitting the two 123A cells for all that they are worth. Its like having a car with 2 speeds: 0 and 120mph. The upshot of this is that you only get 90 min on one set of batteries. At $2 a piece, it would get very costly to use this flashlight for your 45 min dog walk each night. Youd literally be replacing the batteries every other day. A more practical everyday carry flashlight will have multiple settings that allow for dimer light but greater battery life (see Olight or Streamlight for good examples). However, if you are in the market for a seriously durable and bright tactical flashlight, this is an excellent choice.

I purchased this item because I wanted flashlights made in the USA. These units are great and I highly recommend them. However, I have noticed that their pricing - at least on Amazon - fluctuates wildly. Not sure what drives these changes. Since I have several of them, I notice when the price increases (or decreases). Needless to say, I wont purchase any if the price has gone up too much.

I bought this flashlight many years ago and I left it in a rental car! I ordered a new one to replace it. This is the only flashlight I have found that starts on low light than high. Excellent quality. I did have the recharger and batteries to go with that it that work well too. I am tired of throwing batteries in the landfill. I perfer the low light first so as not to toatally destroy my night vision. When I need brighter I just click again. About every flashlight on the market goes high to low with a strobe last. I suspect they are all using the same chinese chip for it. Good Luck BP
