My old one, just like this one, did not have a push-push switch, nor dual-brightness. What an improvement, I love them! Button is a little hard to press to the stay-on point though (1/2 pt. off for this). Another half-point off because there is no way to set it down pointing upward, and on its side it tends to roll. But if you are just looking for a flashlight strictly for in your hand, then look no further. Use low light for long battery life, even high is good life too. End gets HOT on high after several minutes (typical).

If I could do it again, I’d get the order final Surefire “Taclite”. The one handed ergonomics on the flashlight are not great. It takes me some fumbling with both hands to be able to employ it n the mode is hat I wish to. It takes a lot of screwing in order to be able to switch it to continuous. There’s little room for error as far as the push button string goes. Meaning that if it is not screwed in just right, the push button setting won’t work. This is NOT my experience with other “tac lights” from surefire. It is lightweight and durable seeming but it’s also plastic/ polymer/ or whatever”space age”/ state of the art material that they are advertising it as. I’d imagine one can find a small, high lumen, “tactical Handheld light” at Walgreens/ CVS for about $20 bucks.

Nice light so far. I like it. Took over as my EDC light from my previous E2DL Defender, the 200 lumen model. I carry this in a Raven belt holster with a Thrym Switchback. I already have a 6PX Tactical model but needed dual light outputs for everyday tasks, and I dont like how most of the Surefire light offerings have low->high as the clicky switch order. This high->low works better for me as an EDC compromise. This G2X LE has a noticeably whiter light compared to the 6PX and is also noticeably lighter due to the G2X body not being metal like the 6PX. Still, it feels like itd take a beating despite the lighter material. Also, the heads are exactly the same so works well in my kydex holsters I already had for the 6PX.

If you need a good flashlight, you buy a SureFire. If battery life is a concern, then you buy a SureFire and extra batteries. This is a compact unit and very multi-purpose. I bought the yellow one because my other good flashlights kept getting borrowed or going missing. Easy to spot when its yellow.

Like other Surefire products I’ve owned, I am not disappointed. This light is a nice improvement over the older version. Highly recommend.

Chews though batteries on high. Soft plastic lens not user-replaceable. Ineffective customer service. Maybe an OK buy at $19?

I got the LE model, and this really is an excellent flashlight. It feels durable, and has rolled around in backpacks, pockets, and freezing cold vehicles with no issues at all. The light output is incredible, with a nicely focused area in the center of the beam without sacrificing too much peripheral lighting. Ive used it for patrols at work, outdoors activities, and even briefly as a temporary (and very effective) headlight for a vehicle that didnt have any installed while moving from a garage to a barn. The low power mode is, as youd expect, sufficient for looking at things closer up, reading, navigating tricky terrain in the dark without blinding anyone, etc. The light is almost bigger than Id want to put in the pockets of my jeans, but fits nicely inside a jacket pocket or similar. Its nice to be able to partially unscrew the tail cap so that the light doesnt come on inside a pocket or backpack and drain battery life. The light is a little bit pricier than what I was used to paying for flashlights, but for a durable and extremely effective product like this I dont mind paying.

Love this flashlight. It has two modes of brightness and is very easy to use with no complications as it is with some of the other tactical flashlights.

While I appreciate the quality and customer service of Surefire, Im not a huge fan of this flashlight. I bought this to use for low light pistol shooting classes that I take. While I have weapon lights on my pistols, I wanted to have a backup handheld flashlight. The good thing about this model is that it is momentary only, so you wont accidentally hit the switch and leave it on, exposing your position while you fumble to try and turn off the light. But the bad thing about the switch on this model is that it takes a lot of pressure to depress the button and activate the light. When used as a weapon light in the Rogers / SureFire hold, it takes a fair amount of pressure to activate the switch against my palm. I find it awkward to maintain a hold for more than a few seconds. I prefer the lighter pressure and longer throw of the Fenix tactical switches, although I can understand the desire to prevent the SureFire from accidentally being activated. And the pressure required to activate the light has me a little concerned about involuntary sympathetic response when used in a Rogers hold--when you squeeze with your support hand to activate the light, you have to be very careful that you dont unintentionally move your trigger finger. I also dont like that rotating the tail cap can turn the light on. I wish they provided shims / washers to prevent the tail cap from rotating fully, thus preventing the light from ever activating fully. But the tail cap isnt loose, so it does take effort to rotate it, and I guess I could put something on the threads to increase the resistance. My last note is that this flashlight is blindingly bright for low light / night shooting situations. When flashed quickly to momentarily identify something, it produces a blinding flash if your eyes are adjusted to the darkness. If you leave it on, your eyes adjust quickly, but the light is crazy bright in a dark room. For night shooting classes, this flashlight is too bright if you are doing CQ shooting--if the beam hits a nearby white wall or paper target that you are using for cover, it is blinding. I find that 200 is my preferred max for low light shooting (TLR-1s, etc.). But other than those quibbles, its a very well made flashlight, and the design is perfect for Rogers hold.

What a pleasure to find a light these days without 5 modes. This has a friendly 2 mode with high and low. And for my old eyes I got the yellow. Its well built and for a company thats known for anodized battle ready light, this new material is very nice and offers a firm grip. Ive got 30-odd flashlights lying around from many manufacturers and of low to height price, so take it or leave it, this is one I will buy again.
