SureFire G2X Series LED Flashlights with Tough Nitrolon Body

Chews though batteries on high. Soft plastic lens not user-replaceable. Ineffective customer service. Maybe an OK buy at $19?

I bought this flashlight many years ago and I left it in a rental car! I ordered a new one to replace it. This is the only flashlight I have found that starts on low light than high. Excellent quality. I did have the recharger and batteries to go with that it that work well too. I am tired of throwing batteries in the landfill. I perfer the low light first so as not to toatally destroy my night vision. When I need brighter I just click again. About every flashlight on the market goes high to low with a strobe last. I suspect they are all using the same chinese chip for it. Good Luck BP

The first click of the tail cap gives a blinding 400 lumens of light to temporarily blind an attacker or an unwanted aggressor. Then second click gives low level 15 lumens for a comfortable light output for work in the dark. Buy the SureFire V70 Black Polymer Speed Holster to go with it like I did so you can have it secured and ready for quick deployment. The V 70 allows you to insert the flashlight in either direction, tail cap up or tail cap down. Tail cap up exposes the entire grip of flashlight so you can reach, grab and pull out lightning fast. Tail cap down exposes just the head of the light. Both positions secure your light very well. Holster comes with a 3” belt loop with an adapter to install to shorten loop size down the thickness of piece of para cord. I will be buying more of these for everyone in my family.

This is a great small portable USA made flashlight. Very bright for the small portable size. I would say 300 luminous plus. I would highly recommend it since its compact very simple to operate. Not a ton of features but thats what you want when you need a flashlight to truly work every time.

What can I say its SureFire great color. Dont by trash lights. Only wish I could use 18650 batteries.

I’m a huge fan of surefire lights. Going through my house I have one in nearly every room, at least one in my car, and usually have at least one on my person anytime I’m out of the house. I started using Surefire lights about 14 years ago when I became a cop and haven’t stopped since. I’ve got some of the old ones that were incandescent and would die suddenly after about an hour of continuous use. In practice, as a police officer working the night shift I had to change the batteries on those lights every week or 2. The LED version came out and dramatically increased the run time. Now at work I’m using the G2X Tactical and in nearly every other role I’m using the G2X Pro. The Tactical is good for Policework since I want a bright light every time I use it. For other work though, I prefer the Pro switch that has low light on the first press and full power on a quick second press. This prevents me from blinding myself when doing close range mundane tasks that I encounter in daily life. I have carried Surefire lights daily for over a decade and have yet to break anything on them except for a pocket clip on one. I have been thrown into a pool, fully dressed, by my drunken coworker and the lights even survived that with no issues. If you need a bright, tough, and reliable light then you cannot go wrong with Surefire. The G2 series are my go to lights from Surefire.

I have several of these. Occasionally they disappear... hmmm. So I buy another one. Its not the brightest, it does not have multiple modes or fancy controls. BUT it is probably one of the best workhorse flashlights I have used. None of the ones that I own have *ever* failed, glitched out (like in a horror movie), or let me down in any way (this actually applies to every Surefire light I own). Ive dropped them, drowned them, run over them. This is the flashlight I keep on my nightstand. This is flashlight I would grab in an emergency.

Three stars because the light is great but there are three product options available and the description does not update to reflect the option selected. All options will say: “A click-style tactical tailcap switch controls the light’s output--simply press or click to unleash all 400 lumens in momentary- or constant-on mode, an important feature for law enforcement applications where instant access to maximum output provides a tactical advantage. Return to off and press or click again within two seconds for G2X LE’s lower-output 15-lumen beam.” This is INCORRECT. Only the “Pro” (also called the “LE”) has this feature, and the current model has a 600 lumen high setting. The “Combat” version is technically the “G2ZX”, it has a narrower body to hold between the fingers for use with a handgun and only has one brightness mode and only has a momentary-on pressure tailcap and will not go into constant-on mode unless the tailcap is twisted. (Sure fire does sell a click-on tailcap that will work for this model.) The “Tactical” version has a click-on tail cap but only one brightness mode of 600 lumens. I contacted the seller about the description issue and they advised that they do not control the product description since multiple companies sell through this particular product page and so they cannot update it. High marks for customer service though, they answered a phone call after business hours and helped me through a return so I can get the version I need.

This is our third SureFire light. High quality. I really like having the option of two levels of intensity. The higher intensity level is bright enough to light up a large room.

Even I n the middle of the day this thing is like looking into the sun...! The amount of light this puts out and the tightness of the beam is amazing..! There is absolutely no hole in the center of the spot produced. Its like what you see in the movies, only its real. Its very easy to hold in my non-trigger hand in a two-handed grip, and still be able to flash the light on with a minimal squeeze. Im extremely happy with this purchase, and Amazon sells it for under half the price of what the exact same part number is going for at the range.
