Tobii Eye Tracker 5

> 3 dayThe Tobii Eye Tracker 5 works excellently. It can track both eyes and the head. But this device has shown me how erratically I move my head and how rapidly my eyes dart around. Because of this, I returned the product. This product is better than the TrackIR line, by far- I want this to be clear. If you have used a tracker before, then this is a fantastic upgrade. But eye trackers - and head trackers - just arent for me.

Greater than one weekLets start off with some good, the tracking is pretty good and is pretty fast. its on point and only drifts slightly. now for some less steller pieces. Most programs that go full screen will block this out. (mention that in the main description) side note for the one Dev that answered this as if code injection is required, you need to be fire for that BS logic. Code injection is not required for an overlay outside of the game) i dont want to write my own software for a piece of hardware that is supposed to be game ready out of the box and any application that even has fullscreen factors attached to it blocks this so using it for game play is a pain because if i look away for half a second and look back i have effectively tabbed out of the game. as an added bonus none of the windows features like accessibility gaze control windows hello work because three months is apperently too long for windows to make an update. so yea its a gimmic dont go from the 4c unless you have to because the five only display the ring. side note my recording and streaming software is appearing as fullscreen to this program so i cant even use that i would have to find new software. In conclusion talk to your devs and actually patch this program into something workable (i have seen unpaid modders on steam make better software i dont want a touchy feely response im sending this hunk of junk back) im not rating too badly though because i dont want to just have this dismissed out of hand for no reason there are legitimate problems that need fixing here.

Greater than one weekThis is a fantastic eye tracker with great features for streamers and gamers alike, when it works... Upon using this for the first time I was impressed to find the setup process simple and semi-fast. I had no issues the first few times using it, but then the issues started to pop up. I would be using it to display an eye tracker on my livestream and all of the sudden I would look over and it wasnt working anymore. Most of the time I would have to do everything short of restarting my pc to get it working again and that wouldnt ensure it would stay working for the rest of the stream. I would try unplugging it, closing and relaunching the software, or both, and in different orders. And the worst part was that every time i fixed it, it was using a different method than last time so I never really knew what to do to fix it. All this being said its a good product but due to its price tag, I decided that I dont have the spare money to buy a product that doesnt work more than 80% of the time. Do what you will with this information. Other people claim to have similar issues as well as other unrelated issues. Its not a bad product but it has issues so buyers beware(y).

Greater than one weekIm satisfied with the product. However, there are many complaints about the delivery service. Despite the high price of the product, it was delivered so that it was treated as a regular mail rather than a parcel at the time of delivery, and as a result, the product was delivered to the mailbox without being delivered directly to me. Its an expensive product, but if its delivered to the mailbox like this, theres a risk of loss, and its not easy to recognize whether the product has been delivered or not. Im very dissatisfied with this.

> 3 dayI had a hard time finding a balance that worked for me in SC. Between a deadzone that let me use the controls on the MFDs and dogfighting. In the end the goal in the game is to increase immersion by simulating VR in a way. The sweet spot you have to keep your head in is very restrictive and if I looked down at my keyboard, my character would over react and try to tuck his head between his knees. The eye tracking... So if you look at something and the camera moves toward the object, the location on the screen changes, a constant chase between camera and eye tracking. They kind of solve this by having a lag or delay between look and move. Its just not the same. As for the product itself, compact, well built, neat and accurate technology. For purposes like auto lock and unlock based on retina scanning, amazing. But for the single purpose I purchased it for. Not so much. Only thing I would change if possible is an option to mount on top of the screen. It really cant be done right now based on internal mirrors. Or maybe have a version for over monitor tracking? Some people have had a better result than me but I sometimes wonder if they have really experienced true head tracking immersion that something like an index with 3 base stations can provide. Once you do that, there is no gimmick that can even come close.

Greater than one weekThis is a step up from TrackIR. I find it smooth and responsive, without the hassle of having to clamp anything to your headset. The eye tracking, in combination with the head tracking takes some getting use to, but after some setting tweaks and getting use to it, everything feels more natural. For me, the real game changer is not having to clamp anything to your head, and still having the freedom of movement and smoothness that you get with other head trackers. Yes, it seems expensive, but it is set and forget. As an added bonus it opens up Windows Hello login....so even more convenience. No regrets at al, with this purchase.

> 3 dayFor a very long time I have used a head tracker that required that I wear a hat with reflectors. The Tobi eye tracker was a seamless transition. It gave the same results without the hat reflectors and add the fine tuning by reliably tracking eye motion. Glad i made the change.

> 3 dayThe eye tracker worked well for my purposes. the service would crash occasionally, and the stand on my curved monitor lost stickiness after a couple weeks, but I feel like both are on my end. if you are using the eye tracker on the stand hanging from the monitor, remember to take it off the magnetic stand once youre done or youll risk losing adhesion over time.
