Tobii Eye Tracker 5

> 3 dayThe universal mount. Sucks. But if you have a flat screen then you’re good. The tobii 5 is awesome, I have a curved screen, and I felt the mount could have been sent with better Velcro mounts. Or a versa style mounting system the Sits between the monitor and the versa mount or just screws into the versa mount area, and comes down from there to the bottom of the monitor. There are mounts like that for the older versions of Tobbi Eye tracker models.

> 3 day(primary use: Elite Dangerous) I dislike full VR - because I want to be able to have a drink, snack, interact with my dog, be aware of my house, etc, etc. This fills the gap. The eye tracking is awesome and with a few settings tweaks, so is the head tracking. It is the difference between looking at a flat screen and looking though the canopy of a starship - but with the comfort of being able to have a drink IRL, too. I sat on the fence for too long before buying one. Wish Id bought one years ago. Best gaming purchase since my HOTAS. Five stars, all the way to Beagle Pointe.

> 3 dayThe Tobii Eye Tracker 5 works excellently. It can track both eyes and the head. But this device has shown me how erratically I move my head and how rapidly my eyes dart around. Because of this, I returned the product. This product is better than the TrackIR line, by far- I want this to be clear. If you have used a tracker before, then this is a fantastic upgrade. But eye trackers - and head trackers - just arent for me.

> 3 dayIf you are buying this for DCS World Open beta. Dont bother. I did. It works great when it WORKS. I am out of the warranty period so I cannot get my money back or i would. It doesnt officially support DCS so it uses it Game hub Program and that often gives me issues when connecting to the game. I have to go round and round updating drivers and reinstalling programs every time i shut off my PC. Tested on 2 computers. However if your using it for a game like Farm Sim it does work great. To bad I bought it for DCS....Track IR or VR is king.

> 3 dayIve used the Tobii for flight sim games (DCS World specifically) for the last year. The eye tracking is precise and steady - much better than I had expected. Response time is fast enough that I dont feel like Im dragging it around the cockpit, but YMMV depending on your hardware specs. Youll probably need to use the Flex Mount kit for most modern monitors, which is my biggest complaint. Its designed to be mounted dead-center on the bottom of your monitor . . . right where you often have the monitors control buttons. On the bright side, it can handle a slight offset from center. The Tobii uses active IR to track your eyes, which can be strenuous. Even though the IR is invisible, it took a few sessions for my eyes to get used to the Tobii. Plan for about five or six game sessions building up from 15min to 30, 60, 90, 120 etc. Protip I found was to peg my monitor refresh rate in a multiple of 60hz (the tobiis IRs flash at 60hz). Admittedly that could be a placebo effect, but 120hz felt a lot more comfortable than 144

> 3 dayThe build quality is really nice, the packaging is great. However, the software is the worst software I have literally ever seen. Didnt download driver upon connecting. Whatever, Ill just follow their guide and download it and do it manually. Cool, driver installed. Still didnt download the Tobii Experience program, the program that actually lets you use the product. Whatever, Ill just go download it. It says I dont have the Eye Tracker 5 and the driver isnt up to date. I spent 3 hours trying to get it to work, an hour of emailing back and forth, and then an hour on Team Viewer. Nothing worked. Old drivers didnt work. Manually downloading the program didnt work. Mix and matching didnt work. At the end the tech support guy literally told me that theres nothing left to troubleshoot and it is likely just a bad unit. I tested it on my gaming computer that could maybe have some sort of issue with it, and also on my work laptop that is basically factory new aside from having Chrome downloaded. Neither worked, it is not my machines. I am getting a replacement but if that doesnt work then I will be losing all hope in this product, though I was incredibly excited to use it for Star Citizen.

> 3 dayThis is a step up from TrackIR. I find it smooth and responsive, without the hassle of having to clamp anything to your headset. The eye tracking, in combination with the head tracking takes some getting use to, but after some setting tweaks and getting use to it, everything feels more natural. For me, the real game changer is not having to clamp anything to your head, and still having the freedom of movement and smoothness that you get with other head trackers. Yes, it seems expensive, but it is set and forget. As an added bonus it opens up Windows Hello login....so even more convenience. No regrets at al, with this purchase.
