> 3 dayIts a good quality umbrella, but what good is it if its too heavy to carry? If manufacturers are going with this size, they need to switch to more exotic materials - aluminum and steel simply wont do the job without being too heavy. I have never used this umbrella, in the past few months, because I cannot carry it for extended durations. Id rather get a bit wet, that end up with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Greater than one weekThis arrived on time and well packaged. It is very handsome. But, while I do need a large canopy umbrella, I imagine that over the course of say ..... 20 minutes, this will be too heavy for me to manage. I am a woman and thought I would give the umbrella a try knowing that it is advertised a mens tote. I cannot speak to how it held up in rain or wind or repelling rain off of the material. I returned it post haste thanks to Amazon. But, it sure is nice looking. Thank you!!

> 3 dayThis thing is massive. I didnt quite understand how big it was... another reviewer complained that it wasnt big enough for him so I thought It wouldnt be one of those massive umbrellas you see sometimes... but it is. I dont quite get what he was after because this umbrella is so large Im a bit embarrassed walking in a busy street with it.

Greater than one weekI had an issue with the first one that arrived, but that was promptly and easily replaced, otherwise this umbrella seems pretty solid, large canopy, auto-open, easy to close as well with a very distinct click when it locks back in, and fits in an umbrella shoulder strap bag which I had from a previous umbrella, have even dropped it a couple times by accident and was certain it would have been damaged somehow, but nope, its sturdy, all in all a quality product, good enough that Ive already ordered a second one.

> 3 dayA few reviewers said that their umbrella performed a self-destruct the first time it was opened. I decided to give it a chance since Amazon has a good return/exchange policy. Sure enough, right out of the box, first time, it flew apart -- a very effective, somewhat startling self-destruct mechanism -- this is a bit beyond planned obsolescence! Okay, give them a second chance. Easy exchange using UPS labels provided by Amazon. Second one is great (so far). Either bad quality control or a bad batch got through. I dont know if I would have had the patience for a third go at it, but as it is I have a nice umbrella acquired in a mildly inconvenient manner.

> 3 dayIts a pretty large umbrella that still can fit (just barely) inside my backpack, and it appeared to be pretty sturdy. Ive had it for about two months now. Ive mostly used it in light rain, and it would keep me dry for the most part. However, I began having issues with the water seeping through it on extended walks, or when I would use it, go inside, and use it again in short succession. I suspect that when I shake it off upon entering a building that, because it is vented, the water shakes down into the interior. Then when I use it a few hours later, this trapped water might get stuck in creases and form a sort of water tension bridge that allows water to wick through the material. This theory is giving the benefit of the doubt to the manufacturer, because the alternative is that it is just of inferior quality and soaks through after 20 minutes or so. Ive also just noticed significant amounts of rust forming at the joints that are causing rust stains to appear on the fabric and creaking at the joints. I may try to oil the dozens of joints to reduce this problem, but of course then Ill have oil on the inside of an umbrella that also has a dripping problem. Id be wary of buying this again. Id suggest giving the outside some additional water proofing if you get it, and be careful not to invert the umbrella to shake excess water off like you might with a non-vented type.

> 3 dayI finally decided I was fed up with the poor-quality folding umbrellas I always end up buying from CVS or wherever because my existing poor-quality umbrella had a catastrophic failure during a downpour. You spend like $12 and the thing has a hole in it after one or two uses, or one of the spines breaks and your umbrella is all floppy on that side. Even when its brand new, that cheapy umbrella is so small that youre soaked from the knees down by the time you get where youre going. I walk about 1.5 miles to work, and I dont want to get there miserable and wet. I saw a colleague with this umbrella and took it right out of her hand so I could find out what brand it was, then went to Amazon and ordered it immediately. My favorite thing about this umbrella is the size-no more wet legs!! It folds down to a reasonable size. I will say that this umbrella is heavy; I dont carry it all the time just in case of rain-its too heavy to tote around unless rain is in the forecast. But that is the tradeoff for the quality and durability of the product. Im very happy with it!

17-11-2024Seems to be solidly constructed as it is a bit heavier that I anticipated. Not a complaint. Opens efficiently and is broad enough for two. Perhaps it will endure stormy weather in a manner fitting to its apparent quality.

> 3 dayHad my first set stolen from me. Had to reorder two more. Great customer service from Amazon. The umbrellas themselves are amazing. I had the same exact umbrella for over 10 years. I left it behind and it was gone. Im very happy with the newer models. They feel just as good as my old one. They havent changed on quality. The secondary flap is extremely useful for those very windy days. Im a big guy. 64 290 lbs and Im able to stay dry under this. It opens to a great size. But still fits inside my backpack.

> 3 dayI was looking for simplicity, strength, and aesthetic appeal. I am from Chicago and commute everyday on the train downtown where I see umbrellas breaking, flying away, or jabbing people. For the price this umbrella is perfect. I have yet to find a single complaint about this product. Extremely sturdy material and not to long on the shift. Handles the wind very well with the extra slit in the middle. Windy City approved!
