I bought this primarily because I had to sweat some copper tube when I replaced my water heater and have since moved to using this for when I do Sous Vide cooking. It works great for adding that after cook sear and giving some texture to the foods once I am done. Spins right on a small take easy and I appreciate the lock button on the torch so I can put it down and not worry about someone accidentally turning it on immediately. I also used it to light some post Independence day fireworks and it works way better than my old cheap-o torch. Its nice to just click the button and torch that wick.

While this thing may be dumping out close to 13k BTU/h, the swirl flame means that you get 4 divergent flames. Put it on, you know, round tubing, and the flames blow past in all directions, making it extremely problematic to use near virtually anything else, as that anything else is *going to* get flame on it, like it or not. Returned and back to pencil-flame torches for me.

Nice torch! Good for quick heating or fire starting. Has a trigger lock to keep the flame on.

Low price compared to others

Very good heat output and able to adjust flame based on job requirements.

This torch head will burn either MAP or propane. The fuel adjustment knob can be a little touchy (too far open will prevent lighting) and is easy to accidentally knock out of adjustment while soldering in awkward positions. But it permits adjustment from a gentle warming flame up to a high intensity not seen in non-adjustable heads. With the fuel turned up high, this torch can heat up large cast brass fittings to soldering temperature in perhaps half the time of non-adjustable types.

extremely powerful and convenient. especially ideal for use with a Searzall torch attachment. the on-lock feature is useful. the quality is evident too.

I bought this a little more than 1year ago. Every feature it has is broken. Won’t shut off, can’t turn gas knob down. These were good at one time. Now it appears they are made extremely poorly.
