Trigger Start Torch

The torch is very well constructed and works flawlessly. the flame control is a great feature missing from most other self-igniting torches,but one thing bugs the heck out of me. If you damage the tip, have solder drip into it or remove it and lose it, you have to replace the whole torch. I called Bernzomatic customer support and was told that they do not sell only the tips. I then asked why they make the tip removable and was told that is to enable the self-igniter to be serviced. If a part is removable to facilitate service, doesnt it follow that the part could be purchased? Seems a bit greedy to me.

I love it!! It’s easy to use and has a great lock so you don’t accidentally spark it.

Overall, this is a sturdy a well made product but I believe that its overpriced. I found a similar torch for $15 which wouldve been more than adequate. A selling feature was the lock, but it seems fairly pointless from a practical standpoint. I specifically bought this to use along side my sous vide but I wouldve opted for a less expensive product if I could go back. Of note - you must hold the torch up-right to ignite and cannot point it at a downward angle and turn on/off the torch to smoke meats, which proved to be disappointing and annoying.

I bought this item to start fires in my wood stove and I was very impressed! after buying a different one that didnt work very well at all this one works great.

I live in the country and this torch comes in handy

Very nice all in one torch head. I used it today for the first time with MAPP fuel to melt asphalt STIX into my driveway. It did a great job and it was easy to use even for a novice like me. I would suggest this to anyone for the appropriate task.
