This product connected quickly to HomeKit and given its simplicity (on/off outlet switch) there is not a lot to worry about. Upon launching the associated native application you are asked to register for an account (really wish you did not need to do that) and then the ap scans for firmware updates. Updates are always good and welcome, however in this case my IDS/IPS system instantly alerted of a possible trojan in the .bin file the device downloaded the firmware in. This is not a good sign and one expects the company to work with network companies to ensure this is reasoned. The issue us apparently known as a false positive, so it should have been remediated.

Im using this in an Apple HomeKit setup. I was really glad to see that you could set it up directly in HomeKit, and the setup was perfectly seamless. So many products require you to download the manufacturers app these days, which inevitably tries to gather your email, personal information, etc etc... its refreshing to have something that just works as hardware like its supposed to. The responsiveness through HomeKit is excellent as well. No delays when turning lights on through the app.

I had smart plugs I used with Alexa, but I wanted to move over to HomeKit as I have HomePods in the house now. Here are some takeaways: Setup: Very easy to set up. Had to reset two because the firmware install had some issues, but after that it was good to go. Use: Works quite well, and I have less issue with these than my Alexa ones (Sometimes they’d disappear or stop working), but with the HomeKit integration, I don’t have that problem. Besides HomePod usage, it works with Siri on my phone and my watch.
