> 3 dayUpdate: After I wrote my review they got in touch more seriously and replaced my 3 plugs. They’re all asking for the same firmware update and I’m going to just ignore it, they work fine. Original Review: I bought these because I was so happy with the last set of VOCOlinc smart outlets I bought. They worked well until I got a notification about a firmware update. First one starts, boom blinking red light and dead. Second one starts, blinking red light and dead. Save the third one before it starts. Now I’ve been emailing support daily and they have me sending them videos and pictures and are never really taking responsibility and replacing the devices they broke. I won’t be buying VOCOlinc again.

Greater than one weekThese plugs work great with Alexa and are easy to set up. On the other hand, these things work horribly with HomeKit, they are a pain in the #ss to set up because you have to scan a code on the bottom of them, while it’s plugged in! Then once they were finally set up, they all stopped working with HomeKit after 3 days!!! I do not recommend this product for HomeKit users, but I do sort of recommend it for Alexa users.

> 3 dayWow...easy easy and works tons better than WEMO. I have over 20 WEMO devices, they are so finicky. Especially with Homekit. I cant praise them enough. Plus it integrates with Alexa, etc.. Look no further, buy these. I bought them for a very unique feature. These plugs have a reboot feature. What does this mean? Well, you can set the plug to turn off and then after a set time, turn back on automatically. So many electronic devices need to be rebooted to work correct, right??? Well, sometimes my Spectrum Modem starts to slow down. Super annoying, only fix is turn off for 30 seconds and turn back on. Now instead of unplugging each device, which are under a bench, I can just do it with my phone and my speeds are back to normal!! Thanks for making this feature!!!

> 3 dayItem arrived as described. I am a VOCOlinc user so have used their bulbs and their smart power surge before. So figured I would order this well since we are moving into a bigger place and want our home to be a smart home. Used it both with Google assistant and Apple Siri to plug in our lamps to it and it works great. We wanted to hook it up to our VItamix or coffee maker but not sure it will work with them because it turns the outlet on with our voice command but not the machines since they arent smart. But the product is good quality as expected and am about to try their Humidifier next. Definitely would recommend for smart home integration. Gave it 4 because I feel that it should be able to do more than just turn the outlet on.

Greater than one weekIve had a few days playing with the VOCOlinc Smart Plug Mini 2 pack. The integration with my HomeKit system was easy within the Apple Home app. Once installed, I opened the Vocolinc app to see what other features are available with the devices. Once I selected the devices, they prompted me to download the latest firmware, which installed fast and without any issue. The only other feature I can see that the app provides is a timer to turn on or off the device. I will most likely use the smart plugs with HomeKit only and integrate them with my automation and scenes. Im currently using them to power lamps in my office. They also work great to automate a Christmas tree when the time comes. Pros: -Easy Setup -Small footprint you can fit two in one wall outlet -VOCOlinc updates the firmware frequently, giving me hope that they will patch any security vulnerabilities that arise. -Works with all popular smart home platforms -It comes with two devices per pack saving on cost when you need more than one. Cons: -None Yet

> 3 dayI bought the single plug and it worked fine. I, later, bought a four-pack, and I had trouble installing 2 out of 4. Once they were installed, they struggled to stay connected. I ended up returning the four-pack, but the single plug is still up and running. Seems like it might be hit or miss. I have VOCOlinc bulbs and contact sensors, which work great.

> 3 dayI needed a plant light timer, and I could have gotten a simpler one. But I also wanted to explore HomeKit functionality. Did some research, and it seemed I could accomplish what I needed with any smart plug that supports HomeKit. Happily, I was right. I scanned the QR code on the plug itself, plugged it in, saw the plug pop up on my phone, named and categorized it, and it works. That’s it. I of course set some automations up and they’ve worked great. Basic timer functionality is easy. Turning on and off sets off a not insignificant relay click, but I kinda like it. I even managed to set up a geofenced remote automation with either my aTV or HomePods acting as the hub, and it just works. I forget how simple and effective Apple stuff can be cause I don’t think about it. Anyway, these are perfectly functional and do what they promise. Plus they’re inexpensive, relatively compact, have a on/off button on the plug, and look generic in a good way. Don’t know about other smart ecosystem support.

> 3 dayThese work really well but setup can be a pain if you have a 5Ghz network - it won’t work. But there’s a decent work around: Most 5GHz routers generate 2 networks, one of which is 2.4GHz, which this needs. Usually it’s something like “Network Name” and “Network Name-5g”. Before paring make sure your iPhone is on the 2.4GHz network and it’ll be fine. Otherwise you’ll get an error and can’t add it to HomeKit. Don’t worry, once it’s paired you can go back to the faster 5GHz on your phone, you only need to do it for pairing. This is the only thing that really sucks about this product because most people don’t know or care about their Wi-Fi band. So that’s not good. Once it’s setup these work like a dream with HomeKit. I already ordered another set because it’s a really great product aside from that one time hiccup.

> 3 dayI have 4 of these switches. They work great until your power goes out, and then youre going to have problems. While they usually keep working with Apple HomeKit even after a power outage, their connection to Alexa is usually lost completely. Sometimes I get lucky and can simply unplug them and plug them back in after the router gets back up and going, but this doesnt usually work. If it doesnt, the only solution is to remove them from the Alexa app, reset the plugs, and add them back to the home as a new device. Then you have to add them back to all the scenes, automations, etc. for them to work like they used to. When you do this reset, it also means you also have to add them back to the Apple home app.
