> 3 dayInstalled pretty easily using Apple Homekit app. These go inside metal landscape lighting boxes. The ones they replaced sometimes last connection and died after 1.5 years. These seem to hold signal well so far and were easy to program. Worth a few extra dollars to install so easily.

> 3 dayHave not had these installed more than 15 minutes and Im on here to praise VOCOlinc. Setup was insanely easy: use their app or the Apple Home app; one finishes the job for the other--so you only have to go through the process once. I used the Home app, and then launched the VOCOlinc app to find it had been already setup. Changes I made in one would automatically show up in the other. These are GREAT! Im sticking with VOCOlinc if all their devices are this easy to setup and use.

> 3 dayI needed a plant light timer, and I could have gotten a simpler one. But I also wanted to explore HomeKit functionality. Did some research, and it seemed I could accomplish what I needed with any smart plug that supports HomeKit. Happily, I was right. I scanned the QR code on the plug itself, plugged it in, saw the plug pop up on my phone, named and categorized it, and it works. That’s it. I of course set some automations up and they’ve worked great. Basic timer functionality is easy. Turning on and off sets off a not insignificant relay click, but I kinda like it. I even managed to set up a geofenced remote automation with either my aTV or HomePods acting as the hub, and it just works. I forget how simple and effective Apple stuff can be cause I don’t think about it. Anyway, these are perfectly functional and do what they promise. Plus they’re inexpensive, relatively compact, have a on/off button on the plug, and look generic in a good way. Don’t know about other smart ecosystem support.

> 3 dayThis is a good switch.. I bought the 2 pack. I really only needed one, but the price was good so I thought Im sure Ill find a use for the second switch. I was attracted to this because of the ability to integrate with homekit. I have an Orbi mesh setup, it broadcasts the same SSID for the 5ghz and 2.4ghz, with no apparent way to temporarily turn off the 5ghz network. The process to setup the switch goes like this on an iPhone. Download the manufacturers app -> click on add device -> You are then bounced to the homekit screen to scan the QR code for the device. Your phone MUST be on the 2.4ghz network for it to work. Thats where my problem was. I solved this by taking a 100ft extension cord and going out into the yard where the 5ghz doesnt reach. With phone connected to the 2.4ghz network (I can verify this by checking in the Orbi app), it had no problem setting up the first switch. I could not get the second one to work. As far as the working switch goes, no problems, works fine after unplugging and plugging back in where it connects to the 2.4ghz network with no issue. Hope this helps you make a decision.

> 3 dayThese work great but set up was frustrating. I’m using these with my air conditioners in my living room and my bedroom and I love that you can set schedules with these outlets. For example I have one air conditioner set to turn on when I’m on my way home from work so that the apartment is nice and cool when I get home and I have the one in my bedroom set to turn on a little while before I go to bed so the room is cool and comfortable when I get in bed. My only issues with these were the set up. 1) They need to be plugged in to set up. Which makes perfect sense but the QR code that you need to scan is on the bottom of the outlet so I had to get on the floor and lay under it while pointing my phone at the code. Uncomfortable and awkward but forgivable. 2) Set up with the Home app on an iPhone (Mine) and an IPad (girlfriends) was annoying and overly complicated.

> 3 dayThese work great with homekit. For the person below who complained about difficulty scanning the QR code once plugged into an outlet, then dont plug before scanning (instructions below). Also, on my 2.4 and 5gz router outlet even worked perfectly in joining the 2.4 network and not the 5.8, i didnt have to turn off the 5.8 at all. Setup Vocolinc Smart Plug with Apple Homekit 1. Open Apple Home app, select + and the select Add Accessory. 2. Scan QR code on side of Vocolinc smart outlet. Home will prompt to setup, DO NOT do this yet. 3. Plug into outlet. Wait 30 seconds for it to power up 4. Go back to the Home app and complete outlet setup 5. Open Vocolinc app and update the smart outlet firmware as Apple Home doesnt do this immediately.

> 3 dayThis device paired quickly using HomeKit on first use, but after a firmware update (using the VOCOlinc app), it lost connection to my home and I could never recover. The firmware update cause an incompatible error message on HomeKit, and I returned it for a refund. Not recommended for HomeKit use.

> 3 dayTheres not much to these, theyre smart plugs that turn something on and off when you program it to. The only smart items in my home are my lights and a Nest Thermostat. So I have been very interested in trying out Smart home technology, but never really had a need for a power outlet. The Christmas, I got annoyed going behind the tree and plugging/unplugging the tree. I also felt like I wanted the tree lights on every time we were home, to maximize our efforts in even putting up the tree. So, I added this plug to my network and eventually into Amazon Alexa as well as my Apple Homekit. Once all connected, it hasnt had any hiccups or issues. Its pretty reliable, granted its right next to my router, so I cannot speak for range. I had some issues connecting. Not sure why... Im fairly tech/network savvy. Eventually, I got it setup. Now I have another one doing nothing right at this moment and I keep trying to think of things I can use it for and what Im going to do with the one for the Christmas tree once its gone. These definitely are a luxury for me. The reasoning behind the tree are really for convenience. So I only really recommend this if you have a clear need and reason for automating one of your plugs.. or else its a waste of money.

> 3 dayIve purchased a number of these and the majority work fine. But - I paid for all of them so they should all work fine. Right? They appear to be well made and once successfully installed they are reliable and stay connected to the HomeKit network. Their price is significantly less than competing products (Eve Energy, WeMo) but so far 1 out of 6 fail to connect during the initial setup. Support is only available via email and they expect you to take a screen recording of your setup process and send it to them. Folks, this isnt rocket science, and the setup procedure is very easy. They either connect or they dont. 6 resets later and it still wouldnt finish the setup process. So if I toss the failed one in the trash since they have not offered to replace it, the cost of the other 5 increases a bit. Still a good value but frustrating none the less.
