I had a different brand laptop that was a few years old and the video card suddenly crashed and I could not use an external monitor either so I had to replace it. I decided to give the Acer Aspire 5 a try and it really surprised me and out performed my expectations. I really like the expansion cable and SSD drive holder that comes with it. Acer was very smart allowing such an easy upgrade as I added another SSD drive and I also upgraded my ram. This model has the ram built in to the mother board and has only 1 expansion slot so that is the only drawback I could find but for the price and all the extras that it comes with I can deal with 1 expansion slot as it is fast and great for the office and very lightweight for travelling.

we bought this model instead of the similar model with intel processor after reading the review that although both models have a second ram slot for upgrading ram, the model with intel process has the 4 gb ram soldered in, while this one with AMD processor has the 4gb ram replacerble. however, when we openned the back, it appears the 4gb RAM is soldered in because we only see one emplty ram slot (and didnt see another RAM that can be replaced.

I really like the load times, screen quality, and basic functions on the keyboard. Its nice that it comes with windows 11 but itd be cool if there was an option for 10. I use this for school, so I have no idea if its good for gaming or not. You can have half a million tabs open and the laptop will run just fine, the fans are quiet too. Overall Id highly recommend this laptop to anyone

I am totally shocked how slow this is and no, there are no updates loading. Extremely disappointed.

My five star review of this Acer laptop based on the aggressive price point and the quality of the laptop. The aesthetics of this laptop are very appealing because it is very slim when closed. The keyboard keys and lay out are probably the best keyboard Ive ever used on a laptop. Windows 11 requires a little bit of a learning curve. The boot time has gotten faster almost each time Ive rebooted. The screen quality is impressive and Ive even watched YouTube TV on the screen. The laptop hard drive storage can be upgraded and I plan to do so. This is accomplished very easily by removing all the screws on the underside of the laptop and removing the back panel. Very easily could add on another $

I got this for work because I needed a second computer and WOW this laptop is easy to set up, size is great, and the keyboard lights up!

Chose for backlit keys, fingerprint reader, HD graphics, Windows 11, fast, open ram slot, light weight, PRICE! Amazon had this new for $319.99 around Christmas. General home use. Not a gamer, so no idea there.
