First of all, I checked all the laptop processors based on the benchmarks, but leaned towards a Ryzen. The price point of the Ryzen 5 5500U (2.1GHz-6 core 12 thread) was a clear winner based on performance and price point. Acer is a solid company and so is the Aspire line. The best price was to buy a refurbished unit from Acer with a 5% coupon for a total of $331. I added in Crucial RAM-16GB DDR4 3200MHz (CT16G4SFRA32A) for $51 on Amazon for a total of 24GB of memory. Then removed the low end WD Blue 256GB NVME ($24 on Amazon) it came with and added in the Samsung EVO 970 Plus 1TB for $89 from Amazon. Benchmark for the EVO 970 Plus was read 3420MB/s and write 3494 MB/s. Idling, the EVO 970 plus sits at 31C...blazing fast speeds and a cool run temp.

I use this laptop for streaming and searching online and it has been great for everything I need

I honestly like this laptop, and I thought I got a good deal.

Its an excellent laptop. well built, solid and convenient. I bought to do my everyday work it is just great.

I am totally shocked how slow this is and no, there are no updates loading. Extremely disappointed.
