Let me shake off the review cobwebs for this because i am disappointed. Its the small stuff that becomes annoying after a while. A good basic laptop but the reasons why i am returning them is as follows.

The keyboard is easy to see - in daylight. I specifically ordered one with a backlit keyboard thinking they all stay on, like my wifes. This one goes off after 30 seconds, leaving the keyboard dark. For me that is a problem. Im 73, have very bad vision in one eye and floaters in the other. It breaks up my concentration when Im writing. The light goes on with a slight touch, but its distracting.

I bought this computer in July 2022 to use with my Cricut. I had problems setting it up from the beginning so I called the number on the Amazon brochure (for Acer). This was July 18th. I was told that there is no warranty and was transferred to a “service department” to someone who barely spoke English. The computer would not stay connected to my Internet, the bluetooth mouse would not stay connected ( tried 2 different devices). They troubleshooted and it worked for a while until I tried to install apps. The internet problem continued and because of the interruptions, I had to keep uninstalling the apps and reinstalling them. When I finally was able to install one app, it said that the computer needed to restart, and it did BUT when the computer came back on, it said there was an error and it kept restarting until I restarted it. I called again on 8/1/22 and they did troubleshooting and I wiped everything off of the computer and started fresh. The same thing kept happening and I got so frustrated that I put it away until my old laptop croaked and I had no choice but to deal with it. I started all over and the same issues kept happening so I called again on 10/31/22 and they said that I needed to send the computer to the repair shop in TEXAS (I live in Maryland), so I wrapped the laptop in 3” of bubblewrap and put it inside a giant padded envelope and sent it to Texas. This was the ONLY choice they gave me to repair it and replacement was NOT an option. On 11/16/22 I got an email from the repair center with a photo saying that the screen was cracked and it would cost $380 to fix the cracked screen. I told them that I didn’t even pay $380 for the computer and they basically said “too bad.” I told them to throw the piece of junk in the garbage, and they did. I cannot get my $ back because too much time has gone by. I’m out almost $400. DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER

I hesitated buying an Acer computer because it doesn’t have the greatest reputation. But, despite my hesitation and because of the Prime Day deal, I bought one. HUGE MISTAKE! I bought this computer to do school work only. So the only sites I have visited are my school website and a few others. I know quite a bit about IT and cybersecurity, so I’m not a computer idiot that will click on any random link or website. Despite this computer being just over a month in my possession, I get to look forward to pop ups every time I turn it on that are clearly malicious. I ended up having to by a security, malware scanning/removing program because the pop ups were BEYOND obnoxious. I’ll literally get upwards of 25 pop ups as soon as I start up the computer that clearly shouldn’t be there. My scanning program can’t get them to disappear permanently, so I have to scan this computer EVERY SINGLE TIME I TURN IT ON! I’m not joking when I say it’s like it was built into the computer - and supposedly this device was brand new. I’m questioning that now.

Bought this computer two and a half months ago the screen froze twice. Could not open the computer. Had local computer shop fix this brand-new computer to the cost of $90.00. They said it was something wrong in Windows 11. Wish I bought an Apple computer.

My son helped me pick this out. It is a great quality laptop. He got it all set up for me. He keep saying I wish I had the money to get myself one. He’s a computer person so he knows a good computer. I would recommend this laptop.
