Im upgrading from my RT-AC5300. 2.4GHz stability is a big issue - but its a brand new device so teething issues are expected for early adopters. OpenNAT is great and it makes port forwarding for specific games fast and requires zero research for the correct ports. Good signal range, but again, speeds are an issue even with minimal & manual config practice. I’ll see this as an upgrade when an update comes out, but it’s going on a shelf until then.

I had a set of the ZenWifi XT8s (Triband Wifi 6 = no 6ghz). Got this to boost wifi in the house AND get the 10gbe ports for LAN use. (Streaming from a NAS, etc.). Its overkill, but I wanted to transfer files fast. I followed DongKnowsTech dot com and had the Mesh setup pretty quickly. Did have to restart everything a few times, but no biggie. Upgraded firmware to latest and set up network. Everything is working fine, EXCEPT the 10gbe ports seem finnicky. To be more specific, they seem to slow down over time. I can reboot the router, and get 950mbps, but after awhile, it will drop to 800, then 650, etc. This is WAN btw. I really have not test LAN speed, but appears to be pretty quick. A quick reboot of the router fixes the issue temporarily. I installed the latest Merlin firmware, and the issue seems to persist. I am thinking this will be fixed in a future firmware release, but who knows. Frankly, however, there is no real world difference between 600 mbps and 900. They are both plenty fast. You do want to get what you are paying your ISP for though. Wifi is great, even though we only have one device (a laptop) in the house capable of 6ghz (Wifi 6e). Otherwise, the main purpose of this (for me) is the Multi-gigabit LAN capability and AiMesh compatability. I have this paired with a TRENDnet TEG-S762 10g switch to feed the AiMesh nodes at 2.5g. All cables are Cat 8 (supposedly). Overall, a very powerful router, although expensive. I feel it should serve my purposes for 5-7 years before everything is switched over to Wifi 7.

Great product and works as intended. Wireless networks are setup separately and has easy and quick configurations to get you up and going quickly. Also I centrally located this and have wifi throughout entire 2 story home.

Just up dated from Rapture GT11000 to 16000 it’s fast works great running in mesh mode speeds of 960 and Wi-Fi 760mb on spectrum 1 GB service 32 devices and 4k streaming Should say GT 11000 would do same. Rapture 16000 have couple new features and 10 GB ports but needed mesh system for garage Like both units great routes only money right, surely recommended

The router performs stable and fast. My only gripe is that the component itself is giant and takes up alot of space. I ended up mounting it on the wall next my modem. After dealing with a router that was constantly overheating and resetting going to this one was massive relief especially for someone who works from home and phone coverage here is trash without connecting to the wireless router.

Update: The product description on the ASUS web site is a bit deceptive. The 2.5gb port is WAN only. For example, if you have a 5gb Internet plan, you can use the 10gb LAN/WAN port to connect to your modem, but the 2.5gb port is not useable for LAN use. LAN aggregation is possible on the 1gb ports- but that may not be optimal.

I got this to upgrade my ax11000 because i need more multi-gig ports for the fiberoptic internet working its way into my neighborhood. This however provides worse 5ghz wifi and better 2ghz bandwidth than the ax11000.

This thing is huge! Right out the box downloads are above 900 mbps. The GUI has tons of options. It blew my Linksys AC3200 out of the water. Best download speed with my Linksys was about 500 mbps. I’m very happy!!

This is an interesting router, but unfortunately it’s performance do not live up to it’s spec sheet.

The trailblazing ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 is the world"s very first quad-band WiFi 6E gaming router, delivering incredible speeds of up to 16000 Mbps. We"ve unlocked the full potential of the four frequency bands — 2.4 GHz, two 5 GHz bands, and 6 GHz to bring you the fastest speeds possible.
