12-06-2025I bought this to replace a more expensive monitor the broke when just being moved to another room (didnt drop or bump it). I got this one cause it was more affordable and had good reviews, and didnt expect too much from it. Honestly though, I was very pleasantly surprised. Its good quality and seems really durable (which is a standard of Asus products). The screen settings had to be adjusted slight bit the clearity and sharpness is really good for a monitor of this price. I do graphic and web design work and this almost matched the $400 monitor it replaced. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a good monitor for a lower price.

> 3 day**09/01/2020 Edit** I switched my monitor from my Xbox to PC and the flickering continued during high graphic processing or when switching to graphics with high blacks or greys. Not often, but enough to distract. The picture is clear as day, colors are great, even for photo editing with minor setting adjustments. However, if you plan on gaming on Xbox OR PC, or if you get easily annoyed by a flicker during graphic/video work, you should probably look for another monitor until they fix the issue. Adjusting to 3 stars. Original 4 star review: 4.5/5 for picture and overall build quality 2.5/5 for console gaming 5/5 for daily computer use 3.5/5 for price 5/5 for packing and shipping Overall, this is a good 4k monitor display and I love using it for my PC. However, I originally bought this monitor for my Xbox One X (for 4K HDR) (also used it on my Xbox One S with the upscale 4K option), and I encountered a random flicker during gaming. I tried adjusting the display bit settings (TV & Display Options > Advanced > Video Fidelity & Overscan > Color Depth), which reduced the flicker significantly but not entirely. The random flicker was still there at least once per game, which can be frustrating in mid-battle situations. One thing I noticed when I looked through all of the display settings was that 4K UHD/HDR was not active and not able to be selected as an option with this monitor, which was very disappointing. The picture quality is VERY crisp, and the response time is fantastic, but for a $300 investment, Id recommend buying a different monitor for console gaming considering this Asus flickers (which other reviewers have noted) and also lacks HDR. You can also see a minimal, (insignificant, to me) light leak on the right side of my monitor. This is monitor-specific, so some might have it while others dont. Additional thoughts: I included a picture of the menu button, which took some getting used to, but I actually prefer/enjoy adjusting the settings with it now (compared to my other monitors, a different Asus and a BenQ). The monitor does not have speakers, but it does have a 3.5mm output. The monitor is lightweight, VESA mount compatible, and the frame/bevel is minimal and sleek. My monitor arrived well-packed, and came with additional HDMI cables, which is always appreciated.

> 3 dayEste monitor me ha permitido lo que quería; tener en pantalla todos los elementos que quiero editar: imágenes y videos. Tengo mejor brillo y resolución; en los trabajos de Excel consigo hojas completas y sin necesidad de usar las barras de desplazamiento. Vendedor atento y el Currier me hizo llegar el producto en pocos días.

Greater than one weekMy only nitpick would be the screens height. So keep that in mind. But overall loving it.

Greater than one weekI have had this monitor for 16 months now and it has lived up to my expectations in every way. The picture is sharp and clear and the colors are vibrant. Not a gamer, so over-top specs were not was I was looking for. I needed a good general purpose monitor that would be suitable for watching sports too. I having been planning to update my graphics card (like so many for us) but still using my old Nvidia GTX1060, which is not quite up to the mark for MSFS 2020. Even so, this monitor displays great scenery. If you are looking for a good solid monitor that will serve you well for years, I highly recommend this monitor.

> 3 daySeems to work quite well with my Surface Pro 7 and fusion360 CAD work. Only one day in, we’ll see how well it holds up. Apparently getting true 4k and no tracers or ghosting. Update One moth in service and still been a flawless experience.

Greater than one weekOverall, I am very pleased with the VP28UQG. 4k resolution, picture quality, input lag, and Freesync are all upgrades from my previous monitor. Unfortunately, I am among those who have experienced flickering. I have replaced the HDMI 2.0 cable and power cord but the monitor continues to randomly flicker. I am unsure whats causing it but I suspect it has something to do with Freesync. Thankfully, Amazon is sending an overnight replacement. Once after I test out the new VP28UQG I will update everyone. Edit: Sadly, I’m reducing from 4/5 stars to 2/5. I appreciate how quickly I recieved my replacement but unfortunately the second VP28UQG also exhibits the same flicker. A quick Google search or look through the reviews on Amazon can also confirm this. I cannot believe Asus still hasn’t fixed the problem that is likely caused by FreeSync. Anyways, I will be contacting Amazon tomorrow about a refund or hopefully a credit so that I can buy another model instead. Back to researching displays I go Edit 2: After further research, I feel 2/5 is unfair. I’m changing it to 4/5 because I believe it is only due to my circumstances needing FreeSync 2. As I mentioned before, it is a great monitor but for PC with AMD. With that said, anyone with an XboxOne X trying to utilize FreeSync I highly recommend any monitor that has FreeSync 2 (only like 4 on the market as of October 2018) or waiting until they release more.

> 3 day(Update A year later) I think the engineers who created the navigation interface on this monitor may be dumb enough to qualify for government assistance. You normally cant turn this monitor off unless there is a signal coming in from the computer. With some operating systems, locking the screen immediately shuts off the video signal rendering this monitor incapable of being shut off until you wake up the computer and wait for the monitor to realize there is a signal. Something that should be quick is now an entire order of events that can take you 10+ seconds as the operator to wait for everything to occur just so you can access the turn off power function. Over time, this is costly. If you dont value your time, this may be a good monitor for you. I have been using this for a month with positive results. As long as you only have one powered computer connected to the monitor at a time, it is a fine monitor. BUT, if you connect a second computer this thing will make you want to throw a brick through it. It has a setting to choose which input you want to view. But it behaves like a mentally disabled child who thinks it knows better than you and switches away from the input you want to be viewing. This means if your computer switches video modes, hasnt come up yet, .... you are likely to be viewing another input you didnt want to see. And the other benefit (sarcasm) of this monitor is its fantastic (sarcasm) single button directional interface. You get to navigate the multi step menu each time this child thinks it knows which monitor you want to view. And if you arent frustrated yet, the menu system seems to be or become inaccessible when the monitor cant lock onto any input or the input changes on its own. So if you are in the middle of working with the one button menu system and the monitor thinks it needs to automatically do something for you, it will take down the menu letting you start over. And you can only start over if the monitor is in a state where it will permit the menu to launch. You would think that would be powered on. But no, it seems like it has to have a proper video connection before you can use it. If you are trying to figure out what is happening in certain circumstances, you will ultimately find it best to physically disconnect all other inputs. As mentioned before, as long as you dont use it with 2 powered computers, the monitor should work fine for you.

> 3 dayI didnt have any intention to buy a glossy screen. There was no clear statement about whether the screen is glossy or matte and all pictures didnt show its glossiness. Maybe its not very glossy but still glossy and will reflect some light and image from your back. There is also an extreme disadvantage about selecting input from multiple sources. There is no way to disable auto-select or fix the input source. You need to press buttons 3 or 4 times to switch the input source you want again and again if you switch your the input source on/off and there is another input source always on. This is very annoying and its possible this will shorten the button lifetime quickly as well.
