From the looks of the box packaging and no protective films on monitor and broken base stand notch to hold the monitor, i am pretty sure i received a monitor someone ordered tried and returned. I was on a call with amazon customer service with not much support to go for it.. no replacement offered . .guess out of stock .. choose another monitor and return was the option .. which i didnt have to be on the call for i guess.. duh.... !!! I am desperate as school year has started and i am in no mood to do the research in getting another monitor . call me lazy or impatience whatever.. but the fact is in the end its not helping me as a customer receiving items as hand me downs as even though it is for a day or a month.. I might as well like to claim a discount for it in that case. which i didnt claim or was offered .. I guess will stop my ranting at that for the amazon customer service as far as the product goes.. Core functionalities look good.. nice resolution. good presets . blue level filters. perfect dimensions for monitor .. have couple of ultra wide monitors ... i like this better instead.

This is a great monitor for the price. I found that I had to have the right settings, then it looked great. I haven’t run any games on it, so I couldn’t rate that. But the 1 ms timing doesn’t hurt. I read a lot of very negative reviews about this monitor and evaluated it with these in mind. Most of them are way off base. Firstly, while some of the view modes are a little “washed-out”, I just set mine to either RGB or Theater mode. Theater mode is the best, in my opinion, because it gives the clearest, brightest picture. And it’s spectacular! I’m comparing it to my older 1900x1080 Samsung 144Hz monitor on the one hand and the OLED display on my iPhone. This monitor is not as bright as my old Samsung, but the colors are better. And this monitor’s color gamut almost seems comparable to my OLED iPhone! It’s really, really nice. Secondly, I reduced the output of only red and blue each, by 5%. This eliminated what was a little bias in the color balance that I didn’t like, but now it’s perfect! Thirdly, the whites are crisp and bright… I do have my brightness turned up to 100%, but a little lower down to 80% is fine too. I have my contrast a bit higher as well. The blacks are deep and true black. There is also subtlety in the display of gray shades. Fourthly, the resolution is awesome! So sharp and crystal clear. I’m doing photo editing on it and the nuances of high res pics come through great. I do not experience any of the display anomalies described in some of the negative reviews. Videos are smooth and spectacular. I did do a high res game benchmark and the display was fine. Looked great. But the video game benchmark result was average, because of the limiting factor of my older nvidia GeForce gtx 1650 card. I would definitely, if you have the money, get a better quality video card to power this monitor. I have been unable to get 10bit color to work, I’m pretty sure because I’m using an HDMI instead of Display Port cable. Also, this monitor is having no problem at all “waking up” when I power on my computer. It does take a little longer than my Samsung did; the screen just comes on as Windows is loading. If you are shopping for a budget computer monitor upgrade, want to save money, don’t really need a better $500 -$700 high res, high refresh rate, I highly recommend this one. 60Hz is just fine for me, looks great compared to my older 144hz monitor. I’m very impressed and pleased with this Asus monitor. The pictures I submitted for this speak for themselves. I can now update my review on this monitor with additional pertinent information. I just connected my monitor using a DisplayPort cable instead of the HDMI and found that graphics performance increased dramatically. My Passmark score for 3D graphics improved right away by more than 20%. I can now enable 10bit color and the display has improved significantly. The display now has even more clarity and brilliance than before when I said it’s spectacular. I just went: “Wow!!!”. Ultra HD videos are absolutely stunning and smooth. I gave this monitor an excellent score before, but now I’m floored! For the price, this monitor is a no-brainer. But do yourself a favor and connect it using a DisplayPort cable.

Overall, I am very pleased with the VP28UQG. 4k resolution, picture quality, input lag, and Freesync are all upgrades from my previous monitor. Unfortunately, I am among those who have experienced flickering. I have replaced the HDMI 2.0 cable and power cord but the monitor continues to randomly flicker. I am unsure whats causing it but I suspect it has something to do with Freesync. Thankfully, Amazon is sending an overnight replacement. Once after I test out the new VP28UQG I will update everyone. Edit: Sadly, I’m reducing from 4/5 stars to 2/5. I appreciate how quickly I recieved my replacement but unfortunately the second VP28UQG also exhibits the same flicker. A quick Google search or look through the reviews on Amazon can also confirm this. I cannot believe Asus still hasn’t fixed the problem that is likely caused by FreeSync. Anyways, I will be contacting Amazon tomorrow about a refund or hopefully a credit so that I can buy another model instead. Back to researching displays I go Edit 2: After further research, I feel 2/5 is unfair. I’m changing it to 4/5 because I believe it is only due to my circumstances needing FreeSync 2. As I mentioned before, it is a great monitor but for PC with AMD. With that said, anyone with an XboxOne X trying to utilize FreeSync I highly recommend any monitor that has FreeSync 2 (only like 4 on the market as of October 2018) or waiting until they release more.

This is a good 4k monitor only if you play truly for competitive purposes, but youd be better off with buying a top tier 1080p monitor for the price. Purchased this based on my experience with an Asus 1080p monitor for my xbox one x, which was fantastic and still is. In a side by side of the same videos, its abundantly clear the color of this 4k model is sacrificed for the other spec, 1 ms response time. Even after tinkering with settings for a whole day the colors all looked washed out. I tried it on several games, warframe, destiny 2, forza horizon, and only on forza is looked decent for a 4k, but thats because forza looks fantastic on anything. It has a lot of settings for the display but not the ones that matter for adjusting how the colors look. The trace free setting if used just creates a black after image if you turn quickly or a movie adjusts too fast, and it doesnt support HDR. The vividpizel option is also inconsistent, it either blurs the details slightly or highlights everything with what seems like white borders, and the setting doesnt work between the different games I tried, i constantly had to to adjust it. Also calibrated my xboxs settings as well, for clarification. I really didnt want to return it. The colors put simply looked washed out, the colors on my 1080p monitor and my samsung s8 look way better. I spent a lot of time focusing on the visuals aspect because thats the entire reason to purchase a 4k display when it comes to something as small as a monitor. Onto the other aspects, the blue light filter is very good, no complaints, that is one of the selling points. Game plus option is cool, allows for fps counter, and a reticle for hip firing, among other options. A definite bonus to hardcore competitive players. Unlike the other reviews, the base was fine for me, I dont need much tilt adjustment, and the base wasnt wobbly at all, but i believe thats because people didnt actually tighten the base correctly. The screw the comes with it allows you to tighten it without a screwdriver, and when I did that, it was wobbly like the other reviews said. Tightening it with a tool fixed it. Menu button/control scheme seemed fine to me, easy to use, didnt travel or detect random directions like other reviews, but I only kept the monitor for a few days before returning. All in all, will be good for some hardcore players, but the sacrifice of colors and visual options in this display just isnt worth it for a 4k monitor.

Didnt end up keeping this monitor. It did work very well and has a very crisp and clear picture! The product arrived right on time and was in the very best condition! Nothing but the very best to say about this product and the seller too!

Im guessing this is JUST for gamers because other than making most of my programs unusable until I adjusted the DPI setting in the program properties, I cant tell a bit of difference from my old 1080 monitor. Ive played a few 2160 movies on it and they look exactly the same as they do on the 1080 monitor. Exactly. I use a dual monitor setup and I can pull a film from one monitor to the other while its playing--dont see any advantage to the 4K. It was a waste of money for me. I wish Id stuck with two 1080s instead of trying to upgrade.

I bought this to replace a more expensive monitor the broke when just being moved to another room (didnt drop or bump it). I got this one cause it was more affordable and had good reviews, and didnt expect too much from it. Honestly though, I was very pleasantly surprised. Its good quality and seems really durable (which is a standard of Asus products). The screen settings had to be adjusted slight bit the clearity and sharpness is really good for a monitor of this price. I do graphic and web design work and this almost matched the $400 monitor it replaced. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a good monitor for a lower price.

The resolution is of course great but 60 he is killing me in many games. The screen tearing is awful, but for feeling high res images and streaming its greta
