Greater than one week[Update on 1/22/2021] VGA to HDMI Adapter (please see below for a reason I had to get it) arrived and used it. Yup! That worked fine! The fact that the display port quit working sucked but I am quite happy with the monitor. Overall, it is a great monitor. I dont play games on it so I cannot rate on that. I use it for two purposes. As a 2nd monitor for my Mac and as a normal monitor for my PC. For 2 days, the display port was working but on and off. On the 3rd day, it quit working. I used an HDMI cord that came with the monitor, it works fine. Unfortunately, my PC (very old) doesnt have any HDMI ports but VGA and Display so I order an adaptor for the VGA port. -> VGA to HDMI Adapter Converter with Audio,(PC VGA Source Output to TV/Monitor with HDMI Connector),FOINNEX Active Male VGA in Female HDMI 1080p Video Dongle adaptador for Computer,Laptop,Projector Havent received it yet so I will report how it goes when it arrives.

> 3 day**09/01/2020 Edit** I switched my monitor from my Xbox to PC and the flickering continued during high graphic processing or when switching to graphics with high blacks or greys. Not often, but enough to distract. The picture is clear as day, colors are great, even for photo editing with minor setting adjustments. However, if you plan on gaming on Xbox OR PC, or if you get easily annoyed by a flicker during graphic/video work, you should probably look for another monitor until they fix the issue. Adjusting to 3 stars. Original 4 star review: 4.5/5 for picture and overall build quality 2.5/5 for console gaming 5/5 for daily computer use 3.5/5 for price 5/5 for packing and shipping Overall, this is a good 4k monitor display and I love using it for my PC. However, I originally bought this monitor for my Xbox One X (for 4K HDR) (also used it on my Xbox One S with the upscale 4K option), and I encountered a random flicker during gaming. I tried adjusting the display bit settings (TV & Display Options > Advanced > Video Fidelity & Overscan > Color Depth), which reduced the flicker significantly but not entirely. The random flicker was still there at least once per game, which can be frustrating in mid-battle situations. One thing I noticed when I looked through all of the display settings was that 4K UHD/HDR was not active and not able to be selected as an option with this monitor, which was very disappointing. The picture quality is VERY crisp, and the response time is fantastic, but for a $300 investment, Id recommend buying a different monitor for console gaming considering this Asus flickers (which other reviewers have noted) and also lacks HDR. You can also see a minimal, (insignificant, to me) light leak on the right side of my monitor. This is monitor-specific, so some might have it while others dont. Additional thoughts: I included a picture of the menu button, which took some getting used to, but I actually prefer/enjoy adjusting the settings with it now (compared to my other monitors, a different Asus and a BenQ). The monitor does not have speakers, but it does have a 3.5mm output. The monitor is lightweight, VESA mount compatible, and the frame/bevel is minimal and sleek. My monitor arrived well-packed, and came with additional HDMI cables, which is always appreciated.

> 3 dayI bought this monitor to use at its native resolution (4K) with a 2019 16 Macbook Pro for my daily work monitor. This results in really small text for most people, but I love all the screen real estate. Right off the bat, I noticed that text was frustratingly fuzzy at 4K and went down the rabbit hole of tweaking macOS settings to get the text to look sharp. This was to no avail, even after HiDPI / retina mode where the OS renders an 8K framebuffer and then downsamples to 4K for output). And yes, I tried different cables including the provided HDMI (through a USB-C hub) and a USB-C to DisplayPort cable. I then started to notice that colors on the dock looked really off--yellow was almost indistinguishable from white, and everything seemed a bit faded. After a couple hours I realized that not only is the color reproduction poor, but this monitor has TERRIBLE viewing angles, so bad that even sitting at my desk about 24 from the screen, there is a massive color shift from the middle to the bottom of the screen. After doing some more research, I determined that the type of panel used (TN) is known to have these issues. The final straw was I noticed backlight bleed at the corners, and once its seen you cant unsee it... Since Im not interested in the fast response time for gaming, I realized this monitor is not for me. I returned it and ultimately bought a 4K 27 Samsung monitor with an IPS panel (was notably more expensive, around $400) and have no issues with color, viewing angles, or text sharpness.

> 3 daySeems to work quite well with my Surface Pro 7 and fusion360 CAD work. Only one day in, we’ll see how well it holds up. Apparently getting true 4k and no tracers or ghosting. Update One moth in service and still been a flawless experience.

> 3 dayLooking for a 4K monitor that wont break the bank? This is totally it. I love the clear text on this as it seems to reduce my eye strain, and the color work well for me. I mainly use it as a desktop monitor, game occasionally, and it all looks great. The gaming modes really bring out the color in games (if you like that look). I wish I can comment on the 4K gaming quality of it, but since my rig is too weak, I have to settle for 1440p quality on games, which look fine to me. It also has a VESA mount, which is why I got this one in the first place. Attaches to an arm mount with ease.

> 3 dayI like that it has 1 DP and 2 HDMI ports. I have two laptops connected to it. I still have some problems with my new Dell XPS 15 7590 laptop on HDMI. The issue is, my laptop does not connect to the monitor on HDMI unless I force a reset by changing the refresh from 60HZ to 59. I have to go into the Display Settings, then the Advanced display settings for the monitors HDMI connection and change the refresh rate several times. I havent had this issue with the DP connection. I dont know if the issue is the laptop or the monitor. It is hard finding information. I thought it may be driver issues, but theyve been updated. I mainly use the laptop for huge spreadsheets or Visio drawings from one laptop, or YouTube and games on the other. I dont use any audio, just video and the monitor has been great.

07-06-2025Spectacular monitor for gaming. Bought it originally for the purpose of PS4 gaming. The refresh is way better than my TV. The picture quality is outstanding. The brightness is perfect. My eyes dont get as tired with it either. The setup needs a tad work out of box but it took only a day for me to figure what was best. Highly recommend this monitor. Tried it for PC as well and doesnt disappoint but especially amazing for console gaming if you want something smaller than a 45 4k TV.

> 3 dayThis screen has amazing clarity and a great picture, when it’s working. I selected this particular monitor because the reviews said it worked great connected to a MacBook. While it works 80% of the time, the other 20% it either looks like this, doesn’t “wake up”, or becomes very pixelated (mainly when I navigate to certain websites). I’m disappointed because I really wanted this screen to work. But I’ve had it less than a month and I’m already having problems.

> 3 dayI work a lot of hours from a home office and run 2xUHD and 2xHD monitors on my dev machine. My Sceptre UHD recently failed and unfortunately that model is no longer available. I figured I would go with Asus, a brand name I know. and I regret that decision immensely. First off, when compared to my Sceptre (which I got for about 2/3 the price of this), the picture quality is absolutely terrible. I find smaller fonts difficult to read and there are various dark areas on the screen which makes the entire picture look wavy. I could not get the Display Port connection to work due to their ignorant menu button design. The stand is unattractive as well, although thats hardly the basis for my bad review. If I end up getting the DP to work and picture quality improves, Ill update my review accordingly, but until then this was too much money for a sub-par product. In summary, I miss my old Sceptre, which was cheap and may not have lasted as long as other brands, but at least the picture quality was incredible. Asus as a brand has been letting me down more and more over the years and I have a feeling this will be my last purchase of one of their products. Each and every day I feel more and more like buying products on Amazon is akin to buying on eBay, where you just cross your fingers and hope the ways in which the seller took advantage of you are ones that you can overcome. In the case of this monitor, there is no way I am going to spend the rest of my year working in front of this screen. My eyeballs already ache from the strain of trying to discern letters in this review as I type.
