Bought 3 of these in July of 2021. Today March 2023 one has gone out. These are good monitors I just wished they lasted longer

Note: I am receiving a Warranty Extension from ASUS for this review. This monitor is exactly what I hoped for from a Resolution standpoint. Adding it to my 5K iMac provides a significant improvement over my previous cheap monitor. The price was right and the capabilities for changing to meet my needs are easy. The only drawback is that it will NOT come out of sleep when my iMac wakes up. I have to turn it off and then turn it back on in order for it to receive a signal.

For whatever reason, it flickers. Two of my friends got this and raved about it. Overall its great and I love it but the flickering is annoying and painful on the eyes. The first one I exchanged, maybe just a defect, but happens on the replacement too. Ran the same settings as my friends, they dont have the issue, I do. Kind of sad since its supposed to help your eyes. Been through everything I could to figure it out but nothing. Changed settings on the monitor and my xbox for hours to no avail. Ill deal with it I guess...

Its a beautiful 4K monitor and a decent bargain. There are two tiny flaws. One flaw is that it sometimes doesnt wake up when the computer does and you have to do something to the little joystick control on the back to force it to wake. Which leads to the second tiny flaw, the little joystick control on the back. Other companies who make monitors have figured this out and have implemented a series of buttons, especially a dedicated and simple on/off button. Using the little joystick on the back to both turn the monitor on and off as well as navigate through the various menus is anti-intuitive and cumbersome, and the joystick is overly-sensitive to what direction youre pushing it. If you push it in even the slightest wrong direction youre suddenly selecting something you dont want. And sometimes, even when pushing it in the correct direction, you still somehow end up selecting an option you didnt want. For me, the quality of the image and price outweigh these two tiny flaws. And, Im sure Ill get better at the joystick the more I use it. I hope.

I bought this to replace a more expensive monitor the broke when just being moved to another room (didnt drop or bump it). I got this one cause it was more affordable and had good reviews, and didnt expect too much from it. Honestly though, I was very pleasantly surprised. Its good quality and seems really durable (which is a standard of Asus products). The screen settings had to be adjusted slight bit the clearity and sharpness is really good for a monitor of this price. I do graphic and web design work and this almost matched the $400 monitor it replaced. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a good monitor for a lower price.

Im guessing this is JUST for gamers because other than making most of my programs unusable until I adjusted the DPI setting in the program properties, I cant tell a bit of difference from my old 1080 monitor. Ive played a few 2160 movies on it and they look exactly the same as they do on the 1080 monitor. Exactly. I use a dual monitor setup and I can pull a film from one monitor to the other while its playing--dont see any advantage to the 4K. It was a waste of money for me. I wish Id stuck with two 1080s instead of trying to upgrade.

Great picture quality, settings and options. Have been using for about 3-4 months now and have had close to no issues except one minor one. The issue I’ve been having very intermittently (doesn’t affect my game at all usually) is that the screen flickers every once in a while when using FreeSync. I’m assuming this is just because the Xbox and Monitor aren’t syncing frame rates but I’m not very technical with the FreeSync and monitor technologies. It does the job, and well for the price. The flickering isn’t a big issue (it doesn’t even happen every day and when it does it’s for like a few seconds only usually) This is a great monitor option for those looking for a cheap 4K, low response time monitor for console gaming.

Looking for a 4K monitor that wont break the bank? This is totally it. I love the clear text on this as it seems to reduce my eye strain, and the color work well for me. I mainly use it as a desktop monitor, game occasionally, and it all looks great. The gaming modes really bring out the color in games (if you like that look). I wish I can comment on the 4K gaming quality of it, but since my rig is too weak, I have to settle for 1440p quality on games, which look fine to me. It also has a VESA mount, which is why I got this one in the first place. Attaches to an arm mount with ease.

I have had this monitor for 16 months now and it has lived up to my expectations in every way. The picture is sharp and clear and the colors are vibrant. Not a gamer, so over-top specs were not was I was looking for. I needed a good general purpose monitor that would be suitable for watching sports too. I having been planning to update my graphics card (like so many for us) but still using my old Nvidia GTX1060, which is not quite up to the mark for MSFS 2020. Even so, this monitor displays great scenery. If you are looking for a good solid monitor that will serve you well for years, I highly recommend this monitor.

First monitor I got was damaged (deal pixels, washed out coloring) and I think from the reviews that there may be an issue with quality control or the shipping company. The replacement I got however is great, the picture quality is good although I haven’t played any games on it yet. I have seen other reviewers (on Mac) have said that the resolution was off, I think this is an indicator that the product is damaged. My replacement monitor looks great, was detected automatically and has the standard resolution scaling I expect on a Mac. (see image) For a budget monitor this is a good deal, if it wasn’t for the first one being broke I would be very happy. *First time I have had a damaged product that I had to replace, Amazon’s return process is great. I wasn’t hassled and I really appreciate just being able to take the broken monitor to the UPS store and show them my QR code.*
