This is a large rod. It is softer, but that lets it throw some crazy bug sparks. My new favorite without a doubt.

Just buy it already... Yes, it is bigger than just about any other ferro rod out there. And yes, it is extremely heavy. BUT, the reward is massive amount of sparks! Note: try to avoid looking directly at the sparks, youll get little blind spots in your vision for a few minutes!

Has a hole in the end for paracord. I hang it around my neck, & use my Mora Bushcraft to strike it.

Produces some serious sparks that doesnt go out once it contacts surface that your throwing the shower of sparks toward. The shavings keep burning. Thats what impressed me about this rod. I have several other brands of Ferro Rods, but this is the best! I think will continue to purchase from this company. Im looking at the 5 for my next purchase.

Works out of the box. Next comes the durability test. That will take, hopefully, months or, even better, years.

Arrived on-time and as advertised. Wrapped it with some Gorilla tape as per Corporal Kelly’s video and as he would say, it’s good to go. Throws a good shower of sparks.

I like the large size. Hole needs to be slightly larger to accommodate 550 pars cord.
