> 3 dayLike my title says. I had bought the rod after cheaper thin brands can break in a back pack (unless turned to dust still can be used but annoying obviously) i have no worries about this about this one. And i just used the striker which was fine and high carbon steel from the broken one and some pop paracord. Very strong quality striker set at cost effective price. Btw even the back of a knife can set off ferro usually (thats how i first used them) so you could just buy the rod and skip the striker and cord. But its all personal preference. GREAT PRODUCT at a Great price is my point get it over anything else in my opinion.

> 3 dayHere you have a fire rod without handle or plastic, nothing loose, nothing that will detach, creates sparks fast and easy. I would definitely bring one of these in my bogout bag in addition to a primary fire rod.
