> 3 dayMy son and I took this outside the day it arrived and were able to get a bundle of dryer lint going with one hearty strike, which we then built into a nice little fire. It throws a large shower of sparks and the length means youre able to get some purchase on it and still have plenty of surface area for generating sparks. I have since started numerous fires with the rod and have been impressed with it since day one. I dont know whats wrong with the folks who gave it 1 star but Id have to guess user error.

> 3 dayLove this ferro rod , throws alot of sparks and the sparks burn very hot and lights tender very easily , so.much better than my 5/16 ferro rod. Start a fire with leas effort ! Gonna pick up a couple more for my sons. Mounted mine in a deer antler !
