> 3 dayGargantuan. Softer than some high-end ferro rods, which by virtue of the composition causes more removal of material, but absolutely SHOWERS your intended tinder material with a healthy dose of super-heated sparks. After all, isnt that what you want? Great with feather sticks and thinly sliced fatwood. If you cant start a flame with this, youve either got wet wood, or you may need to rethink your approach to the tool. It works. Period.

> 3 dayWow, this thing is a beast! Using the striker from my Gerber firesteel, this thing throws HUGE hot sparks, and its size makes it easy to hold. comes drilled on one end for a lanyard, with a hole large enough for 550 paracord. A sure thing addition to any outdoors/survival kit!

06-06-2025Very nice ferrorod for the money 6in by .5 in is exactly what you get but it did not come with a lanyard , oh well I can live with that because I would have probably changed it anyway . only complaint is my own stupidity as I opened the box with my pocket knife , I decided to take a test strike and with one pass of my blade lit my favorite pajama bottoms on fire ! I would say success with this product .
