Greater than one weekAs soon as I got this rod I had to check it out. The first ting that I noticed was its size. It is a very robust rod to say the least. Big and weighty. Very nice feeling in your hand. The second thing I noticed was how easily it threw sparks. It was showering sparks and gobs of molten metal on its second strike. Yes, second. The first strike removed some of the coating that was on it, the second was igniting the metal. I love this rod.

> 3 dayWorks fantastic, perfect piece to complete any emergency preparations kit, or bushcrafting set. Good for many thousands of strikes, and reliable in any condition. (my suggestion, add a roll of gorilla tape to your fire starting equipment for an easy start fire come wind raid or shine!)

Greater than one weekI like the size of this thing and it absolutely showers sparks on tinder piles. I started my first fire in seconds with some dried grass and cattail fluff.

> 3 dayThe size makes it easier to use than smaller rods when striking it with a knife or saw. Its also harder lose. I have purchased two, they will probably last me the rest of my natural life.
