This is a great ferro rod. It literally throws a cascading shower of sparks. So far, I haven’t needed more than one strike to light a fire.

What I like about this Rod is it’s so easy to hang onto . It should last two or three lifetimes . A tip that I’d like to pass on Is, don’t use your expensive camping knife to spark with . Use a old dull wore out hacksaw blade and cut it in half which will be exactly the same length as this rod. On a bench grinder remove most of the teeth . Attach the blade to your rod with Some para cord and go try it out . That hacksaw blade will create a virtual fire storm of sparks .

No-nonsense large metal match for a reasonable price. Used in conjunction with the back of a knife its effective once youve scraped off the slippery protective (i assume) coat of paint. I use this and a couple of small balls of cotton wool to light my backyard firepit/barbecue. Not exactly survival situation but way less expensive than stinky paraffin firelighters, feels satisfying and if i ever need this in the bush itll be almost routine. I expect it to last a 5-7 years at least even with regular use. One good strike is enough to light a fire. Would buy again if i somehow lose it- but even that seems less likely if you add a bit of reflective paracord as a lanyard. Good product.

Exceptional size! Largest dimensions of any Ferro rod Ive ever purchased. Very useable, very stout.

Tried it out today against the back side fo a fixed blade knife. it worked verry well . Plenty of sparks...

Nice big ferro rod. This thing throws showers of super hot spark that easily ignites tinder. Its stout and will last many many years!

Only had it a few days. I live as a highly civilized human, but do intend on going caveman in the near future where the fire stick will make life easy.
