> 3 dayGargantuan. Softer than some high-end ferro rods, which by virtue of the composition causes more removal of material, but absolutely SHOWERS your intended tinder material with a healthy dose of super-heated sparks. After all, isnt that what you want? Great with feather sticks and thinly sliced fatwood. If you cant start a flame with this, youve either got wet wood, or you may need to rethink your approach to the tool. It works. Period.

> 3 dayI got this to use on a camping trip and it did not let me down. It has enough length to scrape a lot of sparks with a single pass of a striker. I was easily starting my camp fires with this rod and 1/2 a cotton ball for tinder. Worth the money to me and I will probably buy a second one which should be a lifetime supply.

> 3 dayThe title says it all. I do like softer rods for easy glob sparks but am not happy spending four times more for something that lasts four times less.

> 3 dayThis is a big, beefy, easy to hold fire stick. It takes a few passes to get a good spark rolling due to its large size. I bought three. One for me and two for friends. We were all satisfied.
