My son and I have started a few fires using this. It is a good size and is easy to hold. It puts off a good hot shower of sparks. Starts a fire in no time. I plan on ordering one or two more.

This a very good product. Theres other reviews that say it doesnt throw good sparks. I thought the same until I realized it was the knife I was using. I filed the top of my knife and had showers of sparks. Unfortunately I had pretty much wasted a lot of the rod.

Really a great ferro rod. Perfect size for my needs and throws decent sparks. Put some hunter orange cord through it and its ready to go. Buy this rod and you wont be disappointed.

Theres several cheaper brands on here that are half the price and out perform this rod by far.

Recieved this ferro rod as scheduled. It is as described at 6 x 1/2 inches. Its size made for easy handling. Beyond that, I was disappointed with its performance. 1. Minimal spark shower 2. Low heat production 3. Tried at least 30 to 50 strikes using SCHF55. 4. No fire Finally used petroleum jelly lint ball, got fire. The weather conditions were perfect. Minimal wind, warm day. Will not purchase this product again nor recommend to others.

Works great, not a cheapo one

This throws sparks better than any of my other ferro rods. Its a big heavy fire-breathing beast.

Hot Molten Sparks To Ignite Your Tinder as good as any and I Have Several different fire steel that cost two-three times the Amount this one selling for at this time .IMO
