> 24 hourAuto focus hasn’t been the best but I’m still messing with it. Focus ring has a little lag so I’m pretty much having to move it wait a couple seconds. Overall satisfied just a few initial things i notices about the one i got.

> 24 hourI’ve been using this lens for months now and it has become one of my absolute favorites. I’ve been able to get impressively sharp images in both light and dark conditions, and I trust this lens more than any of my zoom lenses when I want to make sure I capture an important moment. In fact, I recently bought the Canon EF-S 17-55mm in hopes that I could use that instead of swapping between this and my 24mm, but I ended up returning the 17-55 because it couldn’t come even close to the performance of this lens. For the price, you should definitely get this lens if you’re considering it. The value is incredible. I was planning to upgrade to the more expensive 50mm but I’m honestly going to put it off and get a telephoto lens first, since I’m so happy with this one. To note: I use a crop sensor body, so this is actually a bit tighter than a 50mm in it’s performance on my camera body, but that’s perfect for what I do (mostly portraits). I’ve attached some random shots to show a bit of what this lens can do.

> 24 hourcant beat this in value..I had the prior model of this and this is an upgrade in every way. Would love a 28mm with a 1.8 aperture because this is a pretty high zoom but you need a wide Aperture to get professional looking shots.

> 24 hourI primarily use this lens when I am shooting content/streaming/etc but it makes a ton of difference in the overall look. I could be using it a little wrong, or my body is just not set up right, but I only focus using the ring itself but thats not personally an issue for me.

> 24 hourFrom my blog danehollowayphoto.wordpress.com - I recently picked up the Canon 50mm 1.8 STM and I just wanted to take a moment and offer some initial impressions. My first post-kit lens was the Canon 40mm 2.8 pancake and it really helped me to begin to understand what I was looking for in my pictures. So, I started looking for something that would offer sharp subjects and shallower depths of field without breaking the bank. Canon’s follow up to the “plastic fantastic” was exactly what I had been looking for. Dubbed by many as the “nifty fifty”, this lens has improved in ways that would please beginners and pros alike. The autofocus is faster and much quieter than that of its predecessor, the metal mount and materials used to make the lens offer a quality look and feel, and at just $125 at www.Amazon.com this lens should be a staple for any photographer on a budget. My girlfriend and I headed to Indialantic Beach, FL at sunset to test out the new lens and I was more than pleased with the results.
