Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens

The STM version of Canons 50mm 1.8 lenses is the best one so far. Compared to the previous version, the STM now has a metal mount instead of plastic, 7 aperture blades compared to 5 and the new STM autofocus system. The result is a better feeling lens that focuses quietly and has smoother bokeh. The price is still low enough to recommend to everyone who has a canon DSLR (or even mirrorless if you have the adaptor).

Best lens I have

I bought this as a replacement for a 50mm I used to have but broke some time back. I’ve only had it for a few days, and I get to take it for a real spin in about a week, but so far so good. It feels a little... ‘flimsy’, if that makes sense; it’s not a high quality material, imo. But the image quality has been good so far, especially when there’s ample lighting. The depth of field has been nice. Overall I’d say about 4 stars at the moment, but I’ll have a better assessment of it in about a month or so.

Pros:

After reading TONS of reviews, I decided to buy this lense to use with my 6D while Im saving up for a more expensive lense. Considering I only paid $110, I couldnt be happier.
