> 3 dayThis is by far the best vacuum I have ever purchased!!!!! Handles pet hair and anything else you throw in it’s path. My only complaint would be…. Why didn’t I buy this sooner!!!! Seriously though….. it can get a little heavy if doing a large job but other than that it’s perfect! Fits in small tight spaces and automatically switches from shag carpet to hardwood flooring effortlessly. Would definitely buy again if/when needed.

Greater than one weekThis is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned, and I have had an Electrolux and Shark. It is so lightweight that I can just walk with it from room to room; and being cordless, I dont have to worry with plugging it in and dragging the cord around. I am very, VERY pleased with this purchase! Came fairly quickly, too.

> 3 daySo, needed a new vacuum cleaner. Had a Shark brand vacuum. I believe the model was called Navigator. Had it for a good number of years (maybe 15?). Now, it ironically blows more than it sucks. So, needed a new vacuum. After years of hearing about the wonders that are dyson vacuums, I decided sure. They are expensive but better things often are so figured if people are buying it at that price and are giving it good reviews at that price, it must be good. I was wrong. This is a textbook case of form over function. It looks fancy. They use fancy words for the technology inside. They use fancy ads to sell their product. But at the end of the day, its a vacuum cleaner. It has one job. And this one doesnt do a great job at it. It picks up loose fuzz and dust well - but so did my cheaper Shark Navigator. Really, the only good thing about this is that it is light enough to be easily moved around the house. Is that worth the price? Id say no. I literally could have bought 3 good-enough vacuums that cleaned just as well so I had one on each floor and didnt need to carry it between floors. I dont even know how often it was actually a problem because I could move the old Shark pretty easily between floors but the odd shape and weight dispersion made it hard for my wife to do so. That said, the light weight and ease of maneuverability have gotten favorable marks from my wife, though she probably would have been happy with any one she could reasonably carry that did an ok job. That said, if you have only hardwoord/laminate/tile/ceramic floors, it does a good enough job on them. Im probably going to have to get another vacuum for the few rugs we have and the carpet in the basement. I mean, its good enough to get the loose surface stuff but it really falls short in getting in there on the rugs. Even in Boost mode. Now I cant speak for other Dyson vacuums as this is my first. It will probably be a long time before Id consider another one, though, as it just left an impression that youre paying more for the name than the product. Learn from my mistake and spend your money better. Meanwhile, Im trying to hunt for one that works like the old ones where you had to keep your foot near it on the rug or it would suck the rug up into it.

Greater than one weekSo far, I love this vacuum. I have a Husky/German Shepherd mix and a tabby cat. We have hair everywhere, all of the time. Even right after I sweep, mop the floors, and vacuum. Last year I purchased a handheld Shark that is a good product, but it hasn’t been as powerful as this Dyson when you’re using it in handheld mode or on the hardwood floors in my home. I got the V11 Torque, and it’s outperforming my old, corded Animal DC 17. I felt like I didn’t really need a new vacuum, but this baby is pulling out a ton of pet hair and dust from my 22 month old home’s carpets. We have about 2100 square feet of carpets and 500 sq feet of hardwood and 200 sq foot of tile, and it’s been very versatile on all of our floor types. I used my DC17 on the hardwood, but I never truly captured the dust and animal hair, and I’m terrible at sweeping, but this has been a game changer. Vacuuming under furniture, around chair legs, carpeted stairs, and my husband’s extremely messy man cave was easy too, because the head of this vacuum is much lower profile than my old Dyson’s head. The transitions from our hard floors to our carpet always looked rough, but after using this vacuum in both today, I’m so happy. I can’t see any remaining doggy hair. The stairs and our couches are so much easier vacuumed than lugging around our old, heavy corded Dyson, so I suspect my home will be cleaner, since it’s much easier to use. I do wish the stamina of the battery were better, but I am able to lean an entire 2715 square foot home on one charge. I’m hoping with TLC, the battery will hold up for years.

> 3 dayIn the case of my short little review here of the(my) Dyson v11-outsize{And also whomever actually shipped the package to me}, I will preface with: You get what you pay for. I couldnt be any happier with any part of the transaction or the v11-outsize itself and its accouterments. It arrived in a box that had shipping airpillows for stabilization and another box inside. That box was a protective sheath for the Dyson box. Inside the Dyson box there was another, at least, 20$ worth of cardboard to surround and protect every single individual attachment, both individual batteries, and the main unit. It took me 30 minutes of gleefully enjoying the entire unboxing experience to get everything out of the boxes. Not to mention there was a few more minutes of breaking unneeded cardboard down for recycling. Once I turned the unit on with the 20% charge that was pre installed on the batteries, I was 1000000% happy with my unit and I did a quick 2min vacuum of my apartment...which...I thought was already very clean..and I had a disgusting amount of very very very fine dust..nearly filling..yes...nearly filling..this extra large container. So...lets say that I am blown away (pardon the pun) by the actual performance of this little thing... And Im actually afraid of what a good 15min deep vacuum session is gonna yield in my apartment now. Because I had vacuumed with an old vacuum (that worked just fine mind you) not 3 days ago and Ive been gon for half that time. So... Let me end with. Im thrilled about everything. 1: My new toy was worth every penny simply because it sounds like a mini jet engine(very tolerable, even for a disabled vet with a very complicated head injury that has increased his sensitivity to sounds so much that his quiet cell phone alert makes him jump out of his skin) and I love just clicking it on for the spool up whistle. 2: the way the package was sent to me and the dyson packaging itself were marks of top quality. Like I said there was at least 20$ of cardboard there...I think it was closer to about 40-60$. 3: the unit can nearly almost pick up my combat boots with the suction power of this thing when I have it on turbo mode. 100/100 <3

> 3 dayI’m 77, so I’ve had a lot of vacuums in my life. This is far and above the best. No cord to lift over. Suction is awesome for all the pet hair. Battery life is great. Dyson has thought this one out in detail.

> 3 dayNOTE: Update below... Just got the new V11 from Amazon. Shipping and packaging was excellent. Now onto the actual Dyson, the VAC itself is amazing!!! However, the Torque Motorhead was a big disappointment on my hardwood floors. The $100 Dirt Devil I have does a better job, but it’s corded, which is why I went for the Dyson. I heard so many positive things about the V11 that I assumed I was just using it incorrectly. Turns out I wasn’t and that the head it comes with isn’t great when using it on bare floors. I contacted Dyson and they said I have to spend another $150 for a bare floor head from the V10 model. Just a heads up for those with mostly hardwoods, look into a V10 package that comes with both heads as it’s a better deal. It comes with both heads and since the V10 is the last model, it’s much cheaper to boot! That being said, the suction seems good on this thing. With the front vent on the included head “closed”, this thing sucks itself to the floor!! Battery life on turbo mode is about 5 or 6 minutes which is enough to super clean a small or medium sized room. (SEE UPDATE BELOW) On regular mode I can do most of my house, which is amazing. It’s also pretty quiet. I don’t like loud noises so I wear noise canceling headphones and listen to music when doing things like mowing and vacuuming. I didn’t need them at all with the Dyson. Overall pretty impressive, just that initial shock of seeing debris left behind on the hardwoods makes me want to give only three stars. I’m hoping the new bare floor head helps. UPDATE: Ive been using the Bare Floor Tool for a few months now and it is 100 times better than the Torque Motorhead on bare floors. It picks up way more stuff and the battery life is more than doubled!! It can also roll over things (like Cheerios) where the Torque Motorhead will just push them around. Also Ive noticed that my bin is fuller when using the Bare Floor Tool, as if the Torque Motorhead was somehow leaving find dust and dirt behind. IF you have all bare floors, try to find a Dyson kit that has the vac and the Bare Floor Tool. The Torque Motorhead will be useless to you. Mine lives in the back of the closet now.

Greater than one weekPurchased this vacuum looking for a premium product that would do the job well, have good reliability and in situations where there were issues, would have a good support team backing it up. Because after all, this is the premium option right? Unfortunately, this was not the case. The product lasted ~4 months with fairly minimal use and regular cleaning before the trigger began having issues. The product would turn on when you pull the trigger, but upon release, it would continue to run for 30 seconds to a minute before finally turning off the motor. We worked around it for a few days thinking it was just a bug or an issue but it continued this behavior. I was actually excited to contact Dyson because typically when dealing with a premium product like this, the customer service is top notch. Unfortunately again, this was not the case. The chat feature on their website would not work. It would take you through a script before asking you a question that would just error out. I ended up calling their support line where I had to jump through menus before finally getting to talk to someone where the immediate vibe was not how can we help but instead what do you want. I went through the issues with the representative where they informed me, that before they could do anything to even answer my questions, they needed to register me in their system. Fine, not a big deal. I went through the process of tracking down the serial number on my vacuum, communicating that to them over the phone, and telling them my information multiple times, only to be told that the product was already registered under a different name. I asked them how this could happen, and was told that the only way this could happen is if I was sold an open box product, which I will address later in this review. I told the representative that I had purchased it brand new from Amazon and that I would be happy to send them a PDF copy of the invoice from my original purchase (even though I dont think I should have to jump through this hoop for them to just make their $700 vacuum work as expected). The representative basically just said tough luck. If we cant register your product we will not answer any questions, you cannot speak to a support rep, nothing. I asked them what my options were and they said There is nothing we can do for you, you need to contact Amazon and have them replace the product. That was the end of my Dyson experience, I had already made up my mind that I would not be exchanging the product as I have no interest in ever owning another Dyson product if that is the level of their support. Now to Amazon ... I immediately went back and confirmed the listing that it was fulfilled and sold by Amazon (it was) and that the condition of the product was listed as New (it was) to make sure I hadnt made a mistake when ordering. Once I had confirmed this, I called Amazon to make the issue right. To their credit, they were willing to give me a refund, but told me that I was responsible for returning the product. I had to go purchase a box, pack it, and send it to them, even though the entire issue was their fault for sending me an open box product they had listed as new.
