Greater than one weekI received this top of the line Dyson vacuum and noted a problem immediately after charging. When I picked it out off the charger, it turned on without pressing the button. Then it worked normally for a few days before it stuck in the on position. We could still use it that way because it turned off when we put it back on the charger. Then, yesterday, it wouldnt run at all because it didnt have any charge. No amount of wiggling would get the charger light to turn on. Research on the Internet indicates that we have a well-known battery housing defect and that Dyson will fix it for free. Unfortunately, Dyson customer service is shut down for the pandemic. So, we cant use our vacuum until the lockdown lifts. When it does, we will have a very good vacuum. REVISED REVIEW: We finally got through to Dyson. They gave us a reference number, told us to take the vacuum and attachment to UPS (who would package it all up), and when we had a tracking number, to send that tracking number back in a reply to the message they sent us. We did this and had a new vacuum cleaner in three days. It works very well. Note: In the review above, I noted that the third problem we had was that it wouldnt charge. It turned out that problem was not the vacuum cleaner. It was the charger itself. The new vacuum cleaner came as a full package and we were able to change out the charger on the wall.

> 3 dayAmazing suction. Used another vacuum (let’s call it Electrolux with a beater head attachment) first. Then used the Dyson. The amount of dog hair left behind Filled the canister. No hair stuck on the power head. Other machines I have had, you would need to clean the brush frequently using scissors. Not this machine! Highly recommend for people with Siberian Husky’s !! Soo worth the $$.

> 3 dayI dont write reviews very often but felt I needed to based on negative reviews I read. I was hesitant to drop $600 on a vacuum because of the reviews, but most of the negative reviews have no merit, IMO. First of all, the vacuum is not that heavy...at 6.5lbs, its two pounds lighter than a gallon of milk. If you cant carry a gallon of milk around then youre in pretty terrible shape. Not only that, but when youre actually vacuuming, some of the weight is alleviated by letting gravity do its work. Second, having to hold the trigger down is not bad at all. You dont have to squeeze the d*mn thing as hard as you can to get it to run. You barely have to touch it to trigger the vacuums power. You can have a very relaxed hand while using this vacuum and not run into any issues. The different modes seem to work fine. Its pretty incredible how much stuff it picks up when its on turbo mode. Its true the battery doesnt last long when using it, but it has pretty good suction on auto so you really shouldnt need to use turbo too often unless you want to do a deep cleaning. I cant comment on the issue of the vacuum not working after a couple of months. Weve had it for two months and it still works, so only time will tell if that issue comes up.

Greater than one weekThe Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum is a top-of-the-line cleaning machine that offers powerful suction, intelligent sensors, and a convenient and sleek design. With its ability to adjust suction power and battery life based on the surface being cleaned and a large 0.2-gallon bin capacity, it can tackle any mess with ease. The vacuums versatility is further enhanced by its ability to easily swap brush tools and its support for multiple surfaces. One of the standout features of the V11 is its dynamic adjustment, which adjusts suction power and estimates battery life based on the resistance of the brush head. This allows for a more effective cleaning experience. The vacuum also has an LCD screen that displays battery life and suction power, allowing users to easily switch between Eco, Auto, and Boost modes. Most the time im in auto though versus boosting or eco.

> 3 dayI vacuumed around the kitchen/living area first. my dad had me order him one right after we both saw how much hair/dirt we got out of the carpet and couch in just one vacuum session! He would never spend this much on a product but he said “it sucks better than a —“ I’m not going to finish the rest. Just buy it!! Lol

> 3 dayDysons are expensive but I wouldnt buy anything else. We have 2 German shepherds and even if we didnt, Id buy this. Amazing how much it picks up while regular vacuums pick up so much less. The amount of hair and dust it picks up every couple days....I could make a wig.

Greater than one weekI am the vacuum King. I think I have owned every vacuum on the market and none of them were really that great . I have a regular large corded Bissell that I normally use but the damn thing is so heavy, its like trying to push a bus so I started using a cordless vacuum for my kitchen. I end up doing the whole house but it just wasnt strong enough and it only lasted about 20 minutes. Ive always wanted a Dyson but never wanted to spend the money thinking all vacuums are the well I am beyond shocked on how well this vacuum performed. I actually cannot believe it,used this vacuum for tile floors in my whole house and all the shag area rugs. I still had 60% power left and I had to empty it three times thats how much stuff it picked up when I just vacuumed 3 days ago, I have a dog that sheds unbelievably, its also light colored hair Im white top floor so you cannot see it but its there, its crazy. If I would have known it was this good I would have spent the extra money and got the top of the line biggest one they had , but I wasnt sure so $599 was enough . if I ever need another one I will be getting another Dyson. this is by far the best vacuum I ever owned. If anyone else says anything different they are nuts.

> 3 dayI’ve been using Dyson animal vacuums since they were invented. They do better than any other vacuum in the battle against dog hair from our 3 dogs. But this stick vacuum picks up more dog hair than any plug-in vacuum I’ve ever used. It’s just amazing how much more it picks up. Add to that not having to hassle with a cord, and this thing is just amazing. It’s so effortless to just grab it and vacuum one part of the house everyday. It actually makes vacuuming fun because it just picks up so much stuff so easily.

> 3 dayI live in a small apartment with wood floors so a traditional vacuum is a little overkill. The Dyson v11 Animal fits the bill. It does a great job on cat fur. It’s numerous attachments make it very versatile and I especially like the different power settings. You can drain the battery pretty quickly while using the Boost setting. I recommend running it on Eco or Auto unless you need the extra suction for a particular job. I’ve had my v11 for just under 3 years and my only complaint is a few of the plastic parts are not built strong enough. I’ve had to replace the trigger twice and the main body that holds the trigger once. The latter was because the plastic posts where the screws inside attach break relatively easily. It’s not like they are exposed making them vulnerable to dings while cleaning, but all it takes is dropping it or having it tip over a few times and you’ll have broken screw posts. The only time it’s a problem comes when you have to replace the trigger. The good news is the v11 is easy to fix without having to pay Dyson to do it. I recommend buying a metal after market trigger, put it in as soon as the original plastic trigger breaks and then never open the housing again. There are videos all over the Internet that can walk you through the process and the tools you need to do it (like a long, thin, size 8 star screwdriver). So, all-in-all it’s a good vacuum with a few minor design flaws. UPDATE: Dyson has changed the way it manufactures the main body. They now cover the internal circuit board with silicone sealant. This means in order to install a metal trigger, you have to carefully scrape off the sealant with a razor or x-acto knife to get at terminal connections. Those connections must be disconnected in order to replace the trigger. I’m not sure why Dyson did this. A cynic would say it was to make it harder to self-repair or repair out of warranty, but I hope that was not their motivation.

> 3 dayI love vacuuming!! It has incredible suction for wood floors, grabs dirt on the edges of the head of the vac, automatically adjusts for the area rug and I am totally amazed at the amount of dirt and dust comes out of that rug. I love watching the dust bin fill up! I must lead a very boring life to get so excited about a vacuum cleaner.
