Greater than one weekThis is expensive. However, I would call it a great value. I went over an area rug, which I just vacuumed with our old stick vac. What an eye opener! I would never have guessed so much dust/fluff/sand was left in our rugs after using the old vacuum. Regarding the attachments, they are many and I dont even know what a few are for. The attachments do snap on positively and securely. This is a very high quality stick vac and is worth every penny.

> 3 dayI vacuumed around the kitchen/living area first. my dad had me order him one right after we both saw how much hair/dirt we got out of the carpet and couch in just one vacuum session! He would never spend this much on a product but he said “it sucks better than a —“ I’m not going to finish the rest. Just buy it!! Lol

> 3 dayFirst, the good — and it’s mostly good — for some reason, the pricing was down from what I’d expected. Still not cheap, but less than $500. I bought ‘The Animal” not ‘The Torque” drive. The only difference is the digital sophistication of the readout on the motor indicating battery life, etc. That option looked nice, but I figured I didn’t need it. The battery life is very good. The suction on this machine is in the WOW range ... but there is a downside to that. I’m thinking that the suction on the ECO setting is about the same as the V10’s suction on the AUTO setting, but I’m not sure. You can hear the change in power when you move the roller from hard floor to the carpet ... and that’s where the problem lies. I have new carpeting (one reason I upgraded to the V11 - I’m a Dyson cordless stick vac devotee and have had one for years). The V11 will NOT move across the new carpet in AUTO mode. I admit that I find this a bit distressing as I can’t take advantage of the additional power of the machine. The carpet is Mohawk Smartstrand Silk, and very soft and thick. Fortunately if set on ECO, the vacuum operates across the carpet pretty much like the old one did on the AUTO setting.... so, in the end, I suspect that I’m getting about the same suction power as with the older vacuum on AUTO. The V11 is also noticeably heavier, but I can handle it and it doesn’t bother me too much. Still, I struggle with the idea that there is a setting that I can’t use... and one hates to have a top of the line machine that has a problem of this nature. ... and YES, I have the air gates wide open.

> 3 dayThis is far superior than other brands I have tried! After a back injury, I have to have a lightweight vacuum. But other brands just didnt have the suction power, or the ease of use. I have two long-haired dogs, and this picks up fur easily... I use it on my carpets as well as my hard-wood floors. Separate brushes are perfect. Also, perfect attachments for use in my car or in tight places. Thanks so much for this great product. Ive recommended it to friends and family!

> 3 dayI love vacuuming!! It has incredible suction for wood floors, grabs dirt on the edges of the head of the vac, automatically adjusts for the area rug and I am totally amazed at the amount of dirt and dust comes out of that rug. I love watching the dust bin fill up! I must lead a very boring life to get so excited about a vacuum cleaner.

15-06-2025I am the vacuum King. I think I have owned every vacuum on the market and none of them were really that great . I have a regular large corded Bissell that I normally use but the damn thing is so heavy, its like trying to push a bus so I started using a cordless vacuum for my kitchen. I end up doing the whole house but it just wasnt strong enough and it only lasted about 20 minutes. Ive always wanted a Dyson but never wanted to spend the money thinking all vacuums are the well I am beyond shocked on how well this vacuum performed. I actually cannot believe it,used this vacuum for tile floors in my whole house and all the shag area rugs. I still had 60% power left and I had to empty it three times thats how much stuff it picked up when I just vacuumed 3 days ago, I have a dog that sheds unbelievably, its also light colored hair Im white top floor so you cannot see it but its there, its crazy. If I would have known it was this good I would have spent the extra money and got the top of the line biggest one they had , but I wasnt sure so $599 was enough . if I ever need another one I will be getting another Dyson. this is by far the best vacuum I ever owned. If anyone else says anything different they are nuts.

Greater than one weekI was cautious prior to buying this and read all the negative reviews but decided to buy. Glad I did. I wanted to comment on some of the negative comments with my opinion to help skeptical buyers like myself. So, 1. the plastic wall mount base, its not to flimsy. It holds the vacuum great if you slam it around like rubber weights in the gym. 2. If you see my picture I mounted it so its supported with the attachment on to help hold the weight and prevent the bottom from being caught. It has a lot of leverage on drywall anchors if its torqued on, as is anything mounted on sheet rock. I did this for my V7 as well and has worked great for years. 3. Use the right settings for the head when going from carpet to hardwood; the center setting or minus setting (letting in more air) and it works great. It picks up sand, cherries, screws, peanuts or what ever just fine. 4. Its not the manufactures fault there isnt an outlet in your closet. 5. The directions are vague and little under done, but this isnt a complicated item either. 6. Is this the right vacuum is the biggest question of all. I have a V7 for the second floor that is all carpet and it works great for about 1000 sq. ft. of quick clean up and is about $200 less. We went with this for the downstairs because we were too lazy to keep going upstairs and this one worked better transitioning on an off our rugs to hardwood that we on the first floor. We have a 1 year old and teenagers so this was a great addition that quickly and efficiently keep the floors clean for the baby. Im so over swiffer mops that dont really work. 7. Deep cleaning ability is good. We have a Kirby that we use one time a year (just before we have the carpets shampooed). The other 364 days of the year the Dysons do all the work. 8. Battery life, great in this V11. If you need more, vacuum more often or make life changes..lol. Ive cleaned the whole bottom floor and used on the car and still never got below 50% on the V11. The v7 would have needed to be charged at least once for that amount. So that maybe a decision point. Lastly the V11 has been said to be unbalanced in weight and awkward. If you see the second picture and use the attachment holder it offsets the slight misbalance. But really, it is 6 lbs. if that gives you issues get a gym membership, really. Oh and the V11 has a detachable battery that the v7 doesnt. If multiple charges for long runs is what you may need then that maybe a decision point. If not you may want to save some cash and go with the v7. Ive also purchased cheaper model of cordless vacuums but they dont last and preform like Dysons so youll get what you pay for.

09-06-2025Amazing suction. Used another vacuum (let’s call it Electrolux with a beater head attachment) first. Then used the Dyson. The amount of dog hair left behind Filled the canister. No hair stuck on the power head. Other machines I have had, you would need to clean the brush frequently using scissors. Not this machine! Highly recommend for people with Siberian Husky’s !! Soo worth the $$.

> 3 dayMy 17 year old Sears canister finally gave up so I went vacuum shopping. I went to the appliance store to look at options. They had Miele which I knew has a good reputation. But the salesman told me not to buy it - that the Dyson Animal was better - that he had two of them. And they didnt sell Dyson. I then researched various styles of vacuum. The stick vacs seemed best for ease of use, but I was worried about suction and time of use between charges. I finally concluded a stick vac would suit me. Of those the Dysons seemed best. After reading the specs, I decided the Animal would do the job but splurged on the Torque Drive for the nicer UI and extra tool. Ive had it for a couple of months now, and am very pleased. First thing I did was my carpeted stairs, that hadnt been done thoroughly for ages. It did a great job, though I had to empty it several times in the process. The small beater brush tool was great for this. The battery life has proven to be more than enough for my needs. I dont think the suction is as good as a plug-in canister machine. But it is good enough. My conclusion is that convenience wins - that the machine I use beats the more powerful one I dont use! Small complaints: The transparent dust bin always looks dirty, even right after emptying; While there is storage for two spare tools on the long tube, and storage for more on the wall hanging bracket, there is one extra tool for which there is no storage space. (I think this is only with the Torque Drive which has an extra tool the Animal doesnt have.)
