Absolutely loving it.This is my third Dyson vacuum, two uprights and this cordless. You are getting an upright, which is lighter, cordfree, easier to manuever, quieter, has more suction, and can get to places the uprights couldnt. You are also getting a handheld you can use in the car, unencumbered by a cord, which is also terrific for quick cleanups and dusting around the house.Throw in the handy docking station which keeps the vacuum constantly charged, while also keeping it stowed, and you have the perfect cleaning tool. This is an actuaI 2 in 1 vacuum, unlike the upright canister vacuum which is a chore to use when using attachments because of the unwieldy hose.I am interested in the technology that goes into such a tool,as well as its ability to clean my house, and this is as good as it gets.Would I have ever thought I would ever spend this much on a vacuum,no,but I am glad I did and it is well worth the money. And the fact that Amazon allowed me to purchase this vacuum over 5 months interest free, makes this purchase a no brainer and just shows how Amazon stays ahead of its competition with incentives such as this.Highly recommended. As a footnote, when purchasing this vacuum, the serial number is visible on the outside of the box. Before you break the seal and it becomes a used vacuum, register the vacuum before ever opening the box and breaking the seal.Once Dyson confirms your warranty, which was almost instantaneous, then go ahead and unbox, that way if there is a warranty problem, the vacuum remains a brand new, unopened item which can be easily returned.

I had a small vacuum that wasnt seeming to pick up dirt anymore and it was a struggle getting anything done with it, having to go over the same spot several times. I also have a dog (great Pyrenees mix) that sheds so much I dont know how she still has so much hair on her. I bought a Dyson v6 for my mother yeas ago and we always enjoyed it and I thought I didnt want to pay for a dyson for my new home... well 7 months later I was fed up what I had. I debated a Dyson and a standard corded model but, the convenience of cordless it something I really wanted. I had several concerns about the Dyson, mainly: battery life, suction power (I have mostly wood floors but a very large area rug in the living room that gets dog hair embedded in it), price $$$. Battery life seems like it will be a non issue. I let it charge for 4 hours, and then I vacuumed my entire house and I only lost 1 bar. Suction power was more then adequate for my needs; in about 2 minutes my rug felt deep cleaned and that was without using the Boost mode. It pulled up every embedded dog hair, and a TON of dirt. The picture in my review is a photo taken AFTER I vacuumed the rug with my old vacuum. It is 2x past the max fill line which was shocking to me when I looked down! I did not expect so much dirt to be sucked up and so much hair. My rug feels new again. I then did the rest of my living room, my kitchen, three bedrooms, a long hallway and a bathroom. The swiveling head is fantastic, and I stayed in Auto mode the whole time. My floors feel like I swept and mopped them, they have that squeaky clean feeling. I finished all of those areas in the time it usually takes me to do kitchen and living room to a satisfactory level. No switching cords, no struggling with low suction, the swivel on the head got into every area I needed, and it is so lightweight. The downside to the suction power is I did needed to empty the bin 4 times. It really doesnt hold a lot, so that might be a concern to some. Also, with how much dog hair is around my house, it really wraps around the little post in the bin and I do have to reach in and pull it out to get it out. That is very annoying, but would happen with any bagless system and my dogs hairs (they are 2-4 inch long hairs). Still, a slightly bigger bin would have been nice. I also wish I didnt need to detach the stick to empty the bin but the clip on/off system makes it quick and painless. Bringing me to the concern of price. I still think its too much, and that is why I am giving it 4 stars. Its a great machine and I think it will fit most peoples needs, but I feel like it could cost less, or come with more for the price. I would love a drop in battery so that you could have two ready to go, for instance. I know from our previous Dyson (my mothers) that replacing the battery is a bit of a hassle and they DO die; I had to replace the D6 battery under warranty twice in a few years time. However, all that said, time is money. The convenience of cordless, suction power, lightweight, excellent maneuverability and getting my entire home done is less then half the time it used to take me and eliminating the need to pre-sweep some areas all made the purchase worth it.

We owned an V8 Absolute for over 2 years. We decided to upgrade to V11 Animal when we wanted another vacuum cleaner for upstairs. V11 has stronger suction power (185 AW vs 115 AW) and longer battery life. We can vacuum the whole house which is almost 2400 sq ft in one cleaning on auto mode. Although we dont have pets, it does a great job at picking up my wifes long hair. Most importantly, V11 comes with only one cleaner head which will automatically adjust the suction power to different floor types, so you wont need to change the heads between carpets and hardwood floors. Its so much more convenient! The downside is that its bigger and heavier than V8 (6.68 lbs vs 5.8 lbs.) It will be a bit of a challenge for a average size woman to hold with one hand. Because of its in-line design of a long dust bin canister, the V11 with the cleaner head attached will lean forward when placed on the floor. I find it kind of awkward. Last thing I want to mention is that emptying the dust bin is a little messy for the V11 due to the lack of an enclosed lid. You can just close the lid on V8 after emptying it, there wont be dust falling out. But for V11, the whole lid with the opening will get all dusty afterwards. I always wipe it off with a tissue. Overall Im happy with this vacuum cleaner!

Strong suction… light weight…. Hopefully I will be able to say the same in a few months!

I wish I could return this product. I’ve had this product since January of 2020. It worked well for about one year. But it hardly works now. Barely picks up hair. I have to change the filter each time I use it. When I’m done with it and go to hang it up, it drops a bunch of dirt and stuff that was supposed to be sucked up. I’m in the market, yet again, for a new vacuum. Super disappointed.

So... here is my issue. 1 - Dyson service and repair accused us of submitting our request to repair or replace our unit after it was out of warranty when, in fact, our original contact for service with Dyson took place 2 months before the 1 year mark. I was shocked by that accusation since I very clearly documented that the unit failed after normal use within 9 months. However, I did not take offense given my respect for the Dyson brand and reputation. 2 - I have gone out of my way to submit the unit for repair, driving 45 minutes to a facility on the far side of Orange County, after having had no response for over 3 months - which led to the warranty date issue through no fault of my own. At the Dyson facility, I and many other customers waited in the parking lot for over 90 minutes as the service hours posted on the Dyson website did not match those posted at the service facility. We all bonded, traded stories and patiently waited and waited in our cars. We were all polite and courteous with your one service tech who was clearly overwhelmed, understaffed and overworked. A very poor showing from a major global corporation. We then waited 3 months for the unit we brought in for repair to be fixed and returned. 3 - We accepted without raising a fuss when we were told the unit couldnt be fixed and that we had to buy a new part, going out of pocket for nearly $100. This was when we were again accused of having missed the warranty period, all without evidence and without consideration of the prior customer journey we had been on. But again, I bit my lip and accepted things given my respect for your brand and how much my wife liked her vacuum. 4 - Dyson took our payment of $95.00 and we then waited for 3+ months for the unit to be shipped, and never once did Dyson proactively send a notification of a delay or part unavailability. 5 - And... and is it now became to be the pattern of always failing to meet ever falling expectations, Dyson did not provide a confirmation that our $95.00 was credited to my account subsequent to Dysons inability to deliver the part ordered. 6 - Dyson then directed us to a new link - see email below - to order the part directly. 7 - We felt almost elated thinking that finally this saga would come to an end. But alas, no such luck. Following the link, we were advised that the unit part was not in stock and there would be no news for when it might be available. 8 - So, in summary, a wonderful Dyson vacuum that we spent about $800 on in January 2020, failed by the end of September, 2020. We are now in May of 2022. We have been Dyson customers for about two and a half years, but about 3/4 of that time period, we have been unable to use a very expensive vacuum, the high price of which would seem to justify a better than average experience across every facet of customer success. 9 - I am so very sorry to say that Dyson, across your entire service organization, success simply has not been achieved. And Im sad to say that given my passion for the engineering excellence of our product designs, I can no longer express passion nor any enthusiasm for the very low standards of customer support we have been subjected to consistently and without fail. 10 - I feel trapped and be compelled to order a part and keep waiting for when it finally becomes available. But in the meantime, I shall be tireless in letting others know of the dismal experience of being a Dyson customer. These expensive units can fail within 9 months and yet, once that happens, the entire organization from the web site, to supply chain, to onside customer support to website services, seems geared towards not fixing anything. With that type of execution standard, I will not be surprised to learn that our story is not the exception, but perhaps the norm. That would be a heartbreak given where the Dyson brand stood in our previous level of esteem, but alas, consistent with our much downgraded experience thus far.

My 17 year old Sears canister finally gave up so I went vacuum shopping. I went to the appliance store to look at options. They had Miele which I knew has a good reputation. But the salesman told me not to buy it - that the Dyson Animal was better - that he had two of them. And they didnt sell Dyson. I then researched various styles of vacuum. The stick vacs seemed best for ease of use, but I was worried about suction and time of use between charges. I finally concluded a stick vac would suit me. Of those the Dysons seemed best. After reading the specs, I decided the Animal would do the job but splurged on the Torque Drive for the nicer UI and extra tool. Ive had it for a couple of months now, and am very pleased. First thing I did was my carpeted stairs, that hadnt been done thoroughly for ages. It did a great job, though I had to empty it several times in the process. The small beater brush tool was great for this. The battery life has proven to be more than enough for my needs. I dont think the suction is as good as a plug-in canister machine. But it is good enough. My conclusion is that convenience wins - that the machine I use beats the more powerful one I dont use! Small complaints: The transparent dust bin always looks dirty, even right after emptying; While there is storage for two spare tools on the long tube, and storage for more on the wall hanging bracket, there is one extra tool for which there is no storage space. (I think this is only with the Torque Drive which has an extra tool the Animal doesnt have.)

Ive had decades of vacuums, including Kirby. This is the one Ive been waiting for. Light and powerful. Changing accessories couldnt be easier. The display on the end of the filter told me I had a plug in the wand and to clean the filter (also exactly how to). The suction grabs it all. The soft brush did a better job on fans and blinds than my shop vac. The charge lasts longer than my will to vacuum. My only negative is that I developed a blister on the inside of my index finger after first day use. The trigger might need a redesign. For now, I wear a glove.

Pros: Its quiet. Super quiet. I can actually hold a conversation while vacuuming. The suction is very good even in auto mode. Can detect and adjust power when going between carpet and hardwood floors. 30-ish minutes in auto mode when doing mixed floor types is great. Enough to do clean the average house like mine. The head is the perfect compromise between width and being able to fit in smaller areas. The power head may seem small coming from a traditional vacuum cleaner, but trust me, youll be thankful once you start vacuuming in and around your dining room. You can go completely flat to the floor to get under hard to reach areas. Cons: Its top heavy. If youre coming from a traditional style vacuum cleaner you will definitely feel the weight of it on your wrist. Its bigger than I imagined. The pictures make it look deceptively small. It strughles a little with hallway runners. To be fair, so did my other vacuum cleaners. It may struggle a bit with area rugs too. Its very expensive. Very expensive. Overall Im very pleased with the Dyson V11. Id never buy one if not for the sale. Im glad I finally bought one. One thing Id like to see is maybe a locking switch for the trigger. Push on push off so youre not holding the trigger the entire time. I would definitely recommend one IF youre in need of a new vacuum cleaner and its on sale.

This is my second dyson cordless vacuum. I have 4 dogs. After trying to go a cheap route after my first dyson bit the dust, I lasted less than a month before buying another Dyson. The suction and technology is unmatched. One of my favorite attachments is the small beater. It makes vacuuming the couch SO easy.
