I bought a Dyson V10 a few years ago, and I love it. I moved to a new house, and my stuff has been in storage for several months, and my place was just getting too dusty for simple sweeping clean and/or mopping the floors. So I decided to give the V11 a chance. The Time Remaining Meter: Thats a cool feature, but not terribly important for me personally. It was easy to get accustomed to how much vacuuming I could do with the V10 before I had to charge it again. The Real-Time Carpet/Floor Adjustment: Not very impressed with the smart speed setting when rolling over throw rugs, at least. I have tile and wood floors, and only have small throw rugs in the bathroom, for example. It doesnt really register and speed up until Im about 40%-60% done with the 3x5 carpet. I think it would be more convenient if you have larger carpet space to vacuum over. Conclusion: Other than those two additions, this is basically the V10, but revised. Either model is a good purchase. I only had cheap $30-$40 Dirt Devil small vacuums for 20+ years, and got tired of the terrible efficiency. It also was annoying when a model I had would no longer have replacement bags and pieces after a couple/few years. The Dyson was initially something that made me think What the heck are you doing spending this much for a VACUUM?!, only to go home and vacuum my entire place in 20 minutes. I was floored (pun intended), because it used to take 20 minutes to do just the living room! So I recommend considering these models if you want a mobile, not too heavy, and reliable vacuum that is really easy to empty the dust into the trash. The attachments are nice as well, but... ADVICE: Adjust your budget to include the fluffy cleaner head. That is amazing if you have tile and/or wooden floors.

So, needed a new vacuum cleaner. Had a Shark brand vacuum. I believe the model was called Navigator. Had it for a good number of years (maybe 15?). Now, it ironically blows more than it sucks. So, needed a new vacuum. After years of hearing about the wonders that are dyson vacuums, I decided sure. They are expensive but better things often are so figured if people are buying it at that price and are giving it good reviews at that price, it must be good. I was wrong. This is a textbook case of form over function. It looks fancy. They use fancy words for the technology inside. They use fancy ads to sell their product. But at the end of the day, its a vacuum cleaner. It has one job. And this one doesnt do a great job at it. It picks up loose fuzz and dust well - but so did my cheaper Shark Navigator. Really, the only good thing about this is that it is light enough to be easily moved around the house. Is that worth the price? Id say no. I literally could have bought 3 good-enough vacuums that cleaned just as well so I had one on each floor and didnt need to carry it between floors. I dont even know how often it was actually a problem because I could move the old Shark pretty easily between floors but the odd shape and weight dispersion made it hard for my wife to do so. That said, the light weight and ease of maneuverability have gotten favorable marks from my wife, though she probably would have been happy with any one she could reasonably carry that did an ok job. That said, if you have only hardwoord/laminate/tile/ceramic floors, it does a good enough job on them. Im probably going to have to get another vacuum for the few rugs we have and the carpet in the basement. I mean, its good enough to get the loose surface stuff but it really falls short in getting in there on the rugs. Even in Boost mode. Now I cant speak for other Dyson vacuums as this is my first. It will probably be a long time before Id consider another one, though, as it just left an impression that youre paying more for the name than the product. Learn from my mistake and spend your money better. Meanwhile, Im trying to hunt for one that works like the old ones where you had to keep your foot near it on the rug or it would suck the rug up into it.

Were long-time Dyson users and have been generally pretty happy with their products. This V11 cordless product is so woefully underwhelming that I felt like I literally flushed $600 down the toilet. I just vacuumed this morning, and Im still pretty agitated from the experience so bear with me. It is winter and we have a yard. Leaf bits do get dragged in along with blades of dead grass. We have a Giant Schnauzer who doesnt hardly shed and two cats. Our floors are mostly bare tile and wood, tho we do have an 9x12 area rug in one area. Total area being vacuumed is around 600 sq ft. Not once this morning did I have to dump the (small) canister because it was full. i did, however, have to take the wand off, take the canister outside, slide it open, and dislodge hair and debris from the (very small) inlet hole between the wand and the canister. SIX TIMES! Not sticks or rocks or other hard objects...just blades of grass, some leaf debris, and a little hair. And, just to be clear, pulling out the visible blockage at the inlet wont do because there is stuff backed up into the internal wand centered in the canister. To get up into the center of the canister requires a thin stick or a coat hanger and a bit of finagling...all while holding this dusty canister outside where the slightest breeze causes a dust storm right in front of the person trying to unblock the canister. Ive come to the conclusion that Dyson engineers must have tested this on glitter in a lab setting while wearing hazmat suits. Oh, and lest I forget, if you have one of these rugs that has the surface cut at the same height, forget it. To keep this vacuum from bogging down on our area rug, this product has to be turned to the ECO setting which means there is barely any suction. In essence, I could sweep that rug with a broom and get more stuff off of it. It does do okay on sculptured rugs for what its worth. There are some good points about this product: highly maneuverable, good battery life, lightweight. In the end, tho, I could have gotten all that with a much, much cheaper cordless vacuum.

I purchased this vacuum in January 2020 for $467. It does a great job on removing pet fur from carpet. The attachment for furniture also works well. It does not do a great job on hardwood, laminate, or tile. Unless you vacuum slowly, debris is scattered by the roller brush. It would work better if this feature could be turned off for hard flooring. I’ve had this vacuum for just over 3 years. After about a year of use, a plastic part near the brush head broke off. See photo. Not a big deal. After about 2 years a portion of the housing near the trigger broke off. This left a sharp edge and exposed part of the trigger normally covered. See photo. A few months ago, the battery started to lose charge. What I used to vacuum on a single charge now requires a recharge. Today, the trigger failed. Turns out this is a common problem. This appears to be a planned design failure. The part is thin plastic. You can buy a replacement trigger for about $20 that is more robust. This is a known defect that Dyson won’t fix. Since the housing on my vacuum is already broken, the trigger is loose so this option may not be my best solution. I decided to spend $152 to replace the entire main body and motor. I may buy a compatible replacement battery. They are about half the cost of a Dyson battery. You would think Dyson would have a exchange program for batteries… Overall, this vacuum works. Just don’t expect it to last more than 3 years.

Dysons are expensive but I wouldnt buy anything else. We have 2 German shepherds and even if we didnt, Id buy this. Amazing how much it picks up while regular vacuums pick up so much less. The amount of hair and dust it picks up every couple days....I could make a wig.

I replaced my old upright Dyson with this vacuum and was amazed at how fast the canister filled up- ok, part of the reason is that it’s a pretty small canister, but it’s super easy to empty so that’s NBD. But I had vacuumed my rooms just a few days prior with my old vacuum and the first pass through the room I had to empty the canister Twice! It is so lightweight and makes a cute little ‘thoonk’ sound when you release the trigger you might find yourself looking for excuses to clean.. I know that sounds sales-pitch-y but I’m a procrastinator and now I notice that I use the Dyson as the excuse to not do other things instead of the other way around. It’s kinda weird! The accessories are good, especially the smaller motorized head, and so far the ‘no tangle’ claim has been accurate on both motorized options. And even at 5’6” I’ve been able to reach most cobwebs in the corners of the high ceilings. (I’m trying to convince my mother to let me buy one for her, she’s older, and I think this would be perfect for her -and her pets too!)

This vacuum is truly amazing. The cordless feature is so dreamy. It sucks up cat hair and dog hair and dirt so efficiently. The battery is sufficient to clean a 1200 square-foot space without a recharge. The features are easy to use and it easily hangs on the wall tucked night nicely away with the wall mount that comes with a vacuum cleaner. I have two of these and they make my life so much easier. The vacuum comes with a hand held attachment that allows you to quickly and efficiently, vacuum cat and dog hair, riddled, furniture, and vehicle upholstery.

My V11 Torque Drive vacuum arrived without issues. I had no problems with the floor brush like some customers have experienced. PROS Appearance It looks nice with its metallic blue color. Plus because of its compact size, it isnt an eyesore if you have to store it in a visible location instead of a closet. LCD Display Its so great knowing how much power is left rather than having to guess how much time I can vacuum before the battery dies. The display also assist in troubleshooting issues like blockages or improper attachment of filter and accessories. Powerful cleaning This vacuum sucks in the good sense of the word. Sensible Accessories There is no unwieldy accordion hose in here. The set of included accessories are stuff I actually would want to use. Im more partial to the combination brush, the motorized brush for upholstery, and the crevice tool, but the whole accessory set seems well thought out. Easy to empty The dust bin is easy to empty, with only one caveat explained in the cons below. CONS Its Heavy! The V11 Torque looks more lightweight than it actually is. As someone with a medical condition, pushing the V11 around takes much more effort than I was hoping for. And the problem isnt resistance from the floor/carpet brush head. Even when used as a handheld vacuum, you will feel the weight. Trigger-happy This vacuum is operated with a trigger that you have to keep pressed for as long as youre using the vacuum. I wish there was a way to lock it in the on position. The trigger doesnt require much pressure to activate though, which is fine while youre vacuuming, but pure evil when youre emptying the dust bin. Long recharge time Battery life is okay for a cordless vacuum, but the 4.5 hours of charging time is too much. I wish this thing had a quick charger, especially considering the size of the power adapter. Speaking of which... What is it with Dyson and incredibly huge power adapters?! I have their hair dryer, the V11 Torque vacuum and the TP04 air purifier, and its like their engineering teams competed for who could get away with using the biggest power plug they could make. The AC adapter for the V11 Torque is not as huge and unwieldy as the power adapter for the TP04 purifier, but its still big and may fall off from outlets with weak grip or outlets mounted sideways. CONCLUSION Dyson products are typically regarded as pricey. Im not sure the V11 Torque is worth the asking price but unlike with their hair dryer, Im not ready to say this vacuum is overpriced. Im torn on whether or not to recommend the V11.

We rent a home with hardwood floors and Mexican tile in some rooms. When we moved here I had a Sebo (very expensive German brand) that was supposed to rival Dyson. The Sebo would not allow me to turn off the brushes and was damaging the hardwood. Bought an expensive parquet floor attachment with hoses. It was so huge, cumbersome, and miserable to use, dragging the upright and messing around with hoses and cords, that I hated having to vacuum at all and it took over 2 hours. Before Sebo I owned a Dyson upright and still cant believe I let myself get talked into the Sebo after my first Dyson gave up the ghost. Always loved my Dyson. The Sebo is mega expensive (altogether we had over $1000 wrapped up in it with base price and extra attachments). I thought the price of the V11 Animal was pretty steep, but now I can do my entire home (3-bedrooms, huge kitchen/dining/living room, laundry room, 2 baths, and sun room in a little over an hour and never take it off the Eco setting. That includes 1 large area rug, 1 5 runner, and a door mat. It rarely takes more than 1-1/2 hours and thats getting under beds, too. The brush on the floor attachment is strong enough to pull things off the rugs, but it does NOT damage the hardwood finish. Its super simple to pull out at a moments notice to clean up dry spills, use the power brush to clean cat fur from cushions, or just do a quick traffic lane maintenance mid-week. No hoses to trip over or yards of cord to fight with. Ive only had Dyson back in my home a little over a month, but Im so happy that I bought it. Keep in mind I have had 7 orthopedic surgeries (neck, lumbar spine, knee, both feet, and both hands) and deal with the attendant disabilities that have resulted, but I can do this and still stand upright when Im done. A little tired and sore, but I can handle it like a breeze compared to what I went through with the Sebo. I do notice that it is harder to push on the rugs so not sure how Id handle an entire carpeted house, but still, I highly recommend this machine!

We typically just use it one room at a time, but it should be able to last a few rooms. Its also light enough and portable enough to carry up a flight of stairs easily. There are two issues I have with it though. First, its top heavy. Which is obvious, since everything is up top. So, even though its lightweight, for my elderly parents, its not as easy to use. The second issue is more of a design issue. You have to keep your finger on the trigger. Granted its a very light trigger. But when you add in this is top heavy, it easily gets very difficult juggling the weight with the need to constantly pull the trigger. I would have preferred an on off trigger, so that you can hold the vacuum however is most comfortable. As for the vacuum itself. It sucks everything up. What I was most impressed with was how much dust it picks up. Definitely a lot more than my older vacuum. The attachments are also easy to put on, and take off. Emptying the vacuum is easy with the one touch ejection. But definitely empty the vacuum outside in the trash can, as dust does seem to fly around when cleaning it. Other than that, it does whats advertised. Can be used on carpet or hardwood floors. it rolls easy, although cornering takes a bit of work.
