I bought this tester last week and now saw a similar tester sold by Deal Extreme for $4.80 plus free shipping. The tester being sold by Deal Extreme looks the same, the only difference is that it does not have the Fluke brand name in it. Please see the photos that I posted. Received item as described in a timely manner. What can you say, Fluke makes excellent products. Only complaint is it doesnt always insert into certain A/C outlets and give a reading where other competitors do.

Good product.

Great reliability, no false positives, and from about 40 tests, it never missed detecting a live wire. Make sure you TEST before each usage on known live and dead wires. I remove the batteries when not in use as there is no OFF setting, but it does power off by itself after a while. As with any tester of this type, if you wave it around and move it too fast, it will flash briefly, so make sure you are moving slowly towards the wire in question to get a good reading. Used this to check 220 baseboard heater wiring when I was installing new thermostats and a new baseboard to make sure when I shut all the circuit breakers off, that there really wasnt any live wires. Im still alive so it did its job. I have used other Fluke testers for various computer/network cabling and Fluke equipment is always so reliable and useful, I didnt bother trying any other model of tester.

Burned one up when the battery leaked. New one has better battery but they need to stop being cheap and put a good battery in it and just charge a dollar more.

Works as expected. ideal for a fuse box ans there were no false positives when I used it.
