> 3 dayGreat reliability, no false positives, and from about 40 tests, it never missed detecting a live wire. Make sure you TEST before each usage on known live and dead wires. I remove the batteries when not in use as there is no OFF setting, but it does power off by itself after a while. As with any tester of this type, if you wave it around and move it too fast, it will flash briefly, so make sure you are moving slowly towards the wire in question to get a good reading. Used this to check 220 baseboard heater wiring when I was installing new thermostats and a new baseboard to make sure when I shut all the circuit breakers off, that there really wasnt any live wires. Im still alive so it did its job. I have used other Fluke testers for various computer/network cabling and Fluke equipment is always so reliable and useful, I didnt bother trying any other model of tester.

> 3 dayI got this to test the electric hookups at campgrounds before I plugged in my motorhome. I considered a number of similar products before buying this one. I dont know how well the competing products would have worked, but I have been very happy with this. The flashing light is great and very easy to see. I also like the on/off switch which many other testers dont offer. It appears to be good quality and it should last a long time.

Greater than one weekI was sadden when my original tester from years ago failed. This new version is even better, it is a must have when investigating quickly to find a problem. No contact with conductors at all.

> 3 dayA decent test instrument. Although would not completely recommend it for trouble shooting electrical circuits, because at times it can give a false reading due to ambient voltages in other near by wires. Overall a quick test to check if a circuit is energized with limited accuracy.

Greater than one weekI bought this tester last week and now saw a similar tester sold by Deal Extreme for $4.80 plus free shipping. The tester being sold by Deal Extreme looks the same, the only difference is that it does not have the Fluke brand name in it. Please see the photos that I posted. Also the tester was not in its original packaging as shown on Amazon when I received it. Check out the Deal Extreme website before ordering this tester from Amazon.

> 3 dayI first bought a tester from Home Depot, some cheapo thing, and frankly, I didnt trust it. It seemed unreliable and inconsistent. And if theres one thing you want from a tester it is reliability. Else, zap, you are dead and Home Depot still have your $10.

> 3 dayI thought this tester was all of that. Shoved it in a tamper resistant receptacle and it came up not live. I was tracing the other end of a wire. Fortunately my Forman came by and his Klein got the voltage. If he had not come by I was going to take the receptacle apart and start testing continuity.
