GENIE G3T-R 3-Button Remote with Intellicode Security Technology Controls Up To 3 Garage Door Openers, 1 Pack, Original Version

Bought this for my other vehicle and it works just as advertised. Programming was a snap and have not had any problems with the remote at this time. Will say I have to get somewhat close to the garage like right before I get to my driveway before it starts to open but it’s no biggie.

Had to buy this to replace one of the little dinky 10 year old ones that I lost right after we moved in our new home. The weird clip/holder for the original unit was flimsy and had obviously failed for the original owner. Since the clip was unreliable and only sporadically held onto the remote, I carried the remote in my pants or coat pocket. Now it must be somewhere out on the street laying where it landed when I sat down or reached in my pocket for something and it escaped unnoticed. The programming instructions with the new remote did not agree with the original programming instructions on the old unit. First try to program it failed. Second try failed. Tried both methods again. Based on the instructions, I was worried that trying to continually re-program the new one probably erased the codes stored in the other original dinky unit so I would now have two useless remotes. Finally, just before trying to return it, I gave it one last try and it worked. Both old dinky and new little-larger-than dinky are OK. I gave it 3 stars but changed it to 4 since the programming failures were probably operator error. Looks like it goes on your keyfob but its too big for that - I wish it was bigger so it would be harder to misplace.

Connected in less than 5 minutes!!

One thing that should be noted. It is a fine garage door opener, replacing another one, but it did not come with proper directions for my particular Genie opener, model #2060L-07. We googled it and my daughter found the instructions, which were very different than the ones included. It was still Very easy to set up.

Needed to add an additional remote to our system. It was just a matter of programming it like the remotes that came with the original door opener a few years ago, Just make sure that you order the same type of remote as the original....

I left the remote for my brand new garage door opener on the roof of the car and found it a week later in the driveway in pieces. This is a direct replacement for that garage door opener, was easy to program and works fine. It was a good purchase imo.

I was worried about the bad reviews but has worked fine for me. Im giving only 4 stars though because the button press does not give a satisfying click. Its kind of a mushy, not sure if I pushed it, response. Ive gotten used to it but I can see why some people would hold down the button so long that the remote enters programming mode as has been described in other reviews. Ive had no trouble with range although we live in an urban environment so I am not trying to open the door from down the block. The range seems to match our previous remote which is basically as we are within a few doors of our garage (in the alley) I can press the button and the door open in time so I dont have to come to a full stop prior to pulling in the garage.

Worked perfectly, no complaints here.

I kept putting off the actual programming of my device when it arrived. Then eventually I went to the garage to try: After locating the square button on my overhead motor, i pressed it and noticed it lighting up. As such, I pressed and held the key on my new controller; the key I wanted to learn the signal. I pressed that overhead button again too, and this time a slightly different light show up overhead. I then tried my new opener, the garage opened.

This is much smaller than my old garage door remote, making it ideal to carry around in a pocket or clipped to a belt. It has the same range as the old one, or possibly better. I gave this one to my daughter to carry in her purse, so I will be ordering another. Update: I ordered two more so that I could retire the original remotes that came with the system. These are much more reliable., more compact, and use a readily available lithium battery.
