Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale

I could not have been more disappointed in this scale! I wanted to love it and felt it was worth the expense IF it did what it promised, but when I discovered how INACCURATE it was, I returned it. On three occasions we weighed our newborn son on this scale, then went right to the pediatricians office where he was weighed, in the same diaper. This scale was off every time by 6-7 ounces. Also, doing the feed and weigh, it told me my son only fed 0.75 oz, so I supplemented more breastmilk with a bottle. Then he threw up what I had just bottle fed him, so I weighed him again and it said he had gained 3.5 oz.. I can weigh my son five times in a row and get varying weights by more than 3 ounces. If your baby has the correct amount of wet/solid diapers, then you dont need to be crazy weighing them daily or at every feeding. Our son dropped more than 12% in weight after birth because breastfeeding wasnt working out immediately and this scale still didnt help accurately weigh him. We had to use common sense to see he was getting dehydrated and needed emergency supplementation, despite what this scale said. Having such an inaccurate scale made us worry more than we should and I feel it is not safe to rely upon in the care of a newborn for any valid measurement.

I had newborn who had issues with breastfeeding and keeping up her weight! I could rely on this scale to help me see how much she was gaining between well child visits and helped me on our breastfeeding/bottle feeding journey. The app is also amazing and I used it to track all of our feeds, pumps, diapers, weights, etc. So useful for timing feeds, naps, pumps and also for knowing how my baby was doing with the percentile graphs it provides as well.

I am a first time mama! Before my little girl was born I was obsessed with preparing for her arrival with the best, most innovative products. Once she was born, I found that some products were unnecessary. But that was not the case with the smart changing table pad! It is truly innovative! The scale connects to an multi-purpose app that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. I love the convenient dual function that it provides as it combines two products in one; Both a diaper changing necessity and health monitoring tool! The size is nice as it will suit her even as she grows and will fit on top of any standard changing table. The scale was so helpful during the early weeks of breastfeeding with my little one. I was able to monitor how much breastmilk she was drinking by weighing her before and after a feed. It is so absolutely relieving to make sure she was getting the food she needs! This is a product that provides what you pay for and will get plenty of use! I love this hatch weight scale! It is nicely curved so it works great for diaper changes. Very easy to weigh her after changing as well. Super easy to clean. I was hesitant to get it at first because I felt it was a little unnecessary but overall happy I got it. It’s reassuring to know she’s growing well! The app works great with it and shows what percentile she is measuring at

I love our hatch changing pad. I also love the hatch app that accompanies the changing pad. We track our daughters diapers as well as her feedings. The changing pad is the perfect size and very easy to clean. The only problem I have with it is that after only 3 weeks of use, the white pad is stained orange from her poop. I dont know how to get the stain out of the material.

What a great product! Began using right away and noticed some inconsistencies so I emailed customer support. And lo and behold, it was because I set it up incorrectly! Since it’s such a precise scale if it’s touching the sides of the changing table it will record that as part of my babies weight, who would’ve known?! You guys, this product is so great! Not to mention it’s sold by a company that stands behind it 100%. I’ll be buying one for baby shower gifts from now on. The fact that you can easily weigh your baby on the same surface as changing them is perfect! Don’t get me started on measuring breast-feedings because WOW!! No more worries about how much my baby is eating. Buy one, it’s worth it!

Nothing occupied my mind more as a new mother more than wanting to ensure I was producing enough milk and that my babies were gaining sufficient weight. For my first baby, I had to lug him across the city to use the scales at the peds office and all of the available baby scales were hard and hard to use. Im so glad Hatch Baby created the Grow, I consider it an essential tool for breastfeeding mamas. The Grow is an amazingly helpful tool for easing new mothers minds and the ability to track multiple data points is awesome. And in addition to it being an incredibly useful item, its also so nice to look at and so easy to clean. The old days of having to wash multiple changing pad covers a day is gone. And this is so much more hygienic, since you can wipe it down after every change. Thanks for creating a beautiful, practical item, Hatch Baby!

Theres a lot to like. But putting in times is SUPER annoying. The AM/PM it defaults to doesnt make sense, it doesnt keep your time when you need to edit it (say you put in 12:15 and it wrongly had PM so you go to change it to AM - it defaults back to the current time as opposed to just letting you edit the time you already saved - super annoying). You cannot tell it to default to numeric entry - it always defaults back to the clock view. The AM/PM indicator has TERRIBLE contrast, so Im usually picking the wrong one. Some of the features are hidden in menus - hard to find the bluetooth link to weigh the baby. Length measures are also in a strange place. Ive had issues with zeroing out the scale a few times as well, which was annoying with a squirming infant in hand. Better than the alternatives - Yes, Id say so. But amazing? Falls short of that

This is a must have for breastfeeding moms! Our daughter had a really tough time latching when she was first born. When we went her the first doctors appointment, we learned she was dehydrated and down to the 5th percentile on weight. This scale was the only way we could track how much she was eating and closely monitor her weight gain between doctors visits. It’s very easy to use and spot on with our doctor’s scale. The only downside is the app doesn’t allow you to connect multiple devices. A slight inconvenience if you and your partner want to manage weigh ins and track feedings.

I love my Hatch changing table. I received this as a gift off of my registry but knowing the quality, I wouldve spent my own money on this. The scale is very accurate.. as in a few ounces either way. Do not expect a medical grade scale because this is not it. But if you are a curious mother interested in her babys growth from time to time without having to go to the doctors, this is for you! The app is also full of features such as a feeding tracker, sleep chart, and growth charts. Would definitely recommend!
