Greater than one weekI LOVE this scale and if it weren’t for a couple issues I would give it 5 stars. It worked perfect for months then started having issues with getting accurate weights. Customer service said they were fine but there’s no way she lost two pounds in a day. Sometimes it works perfect sometimes it gives me crazy different readings back to back. Maybe it’s becuase she’s older now? The other thing I would love to see changed is if you could designate breastfed or not and use the WHO charts for breastfed babies if applicable. That would really make the app perfect. I love that I can monitor her intake, monitor loss when she’s sick and automatically plot her growth curve. My doc even loves it!

> 3 dayWith my first born I struggled with my supply and was encouraged multiple times to supplement because he was under the 25th percentile (really nothing wrong with that!). He is a perfectly healthy 2 year old in the 85th percentile now. Looking back having this scale then would probably have driven me mad. I was already obsessing and this would have given me even more to obsess about. My 3 month old daughter is steadily riding the 75th percentile and my supply is fine. So having this now is not a necessity but I do love monitoring her weight and measuring how much she takes at the breast. She doesnt love bottles and I always struggle to figure out how much my mom or husband should give her when Im at work. This gave me an idea of how much she typically eats in a sitting when nursing. Its nice to look at and easy to clean. I also like to know how much my kids weigh between doc appointments so i can be prepared with proper dosing for meds if necessary.

> 3 dayThis is one of the few expensive baby items that I bought myself. And I am so glad I did! The scale is pretty accurate and weights are mostly the same as at my pediatrician office. It’s so nice and reassuring to see my baby gaining weight every day. It’s also great to see how much she’s getting at her feedings, which as a breastfeeding mom is impossible to know without a scale! It’s easy to clean also and just seems so much more convenient than the changing pads that need covers. I do put a prefold down on it just so it’s a little softer and even easier to clean. Highly recommend!

> 3 dayI could not have been more disappointed in this scale! I wanted to love it and felt it was worth the expense IF it did what it promised, but when I discovered how INACCURATE it was, I returned it. On three occasions we weighed our newborn son on this scale, then went right to the pediatricians office where he was weighed, in the same diaper. This scale was off every time by 6-7 ounces. Also, doing the feed and weigh, it told me my son only fed 0.75 oz, so I supplemented more breastmilk with a bottle. Then he threw up what I had just bottle fed him, so I weighed him again and it said he had gained 3.5 oz.. I can weigh my son five times in a row and get varying weights by more than 3 ounces. If your baby has the correct amount of wet/solid diapers, then you dont need to be crazy weighing them daily or at every feeding. Our son dropped more than 12% in weight after birth because breastfeeding wasnt working out immediately and this scale still didnt help accurately weigh him. We had to use common sense to see he was getting dehydrated and needed emergency supplementation, despite what this scale said. Having such an inaccurate scale made us worry more than we should and I feel it is not safe to rely upon in the care of a newborn for any valid measurement.

18-11-2024Okay, so I LOVED this scale in the beginning. My son need to gain weight his first 6 weeks and being able to weigh him frequently put me at ease. I also found it to be super accurate. I loved that it’s a changing pad too, an amazing dual concept which was why I purchased it. The reason for 3 stars is that I think scale is great for about 9 months, or up until your baby can start really moving around. I went to weigh my son recently (he’s just over a year old now) and the app told me there was a “critical issue” and I needed to contact Hatch. The customer service rep told me that the instrument in the scale was damaged beyond repair and offered a 20% discount to buy a new one because my 1 year warranty had expired about 6 weeks prior. The rep went on to explain how delicate the scale instrument was and when too much pressure is applied it can break the weighing mechanism. She said that if someone accidentally puts their hand on it while bending down to pick something up, the pressure can break the weighing mechanism. What was even more frustrating is that the customer service rep was able to give me a date range of when the scale was damaged — which actually was during the time frame where it was under warranty. But they still wouldn’t honer it — rather they upped the discount offer to 50% for a new one. Here is the thing, the scale/changing pad had not moved at all during this supposed trauma period. The only possible thing that could have damaged the scale is my son himself. He hates diapers changes and constantly try’s to flip on his belly and kicks around. I feel like calling this a scale and changing pad is unfair if the weight and pressure of a squirming toddler can break the scale component. After reading some other reviews, it seems like I’m not the only one who has experienced this. I really wish the delicate nature of the weighing component was better communicated to the end consumer by Hatch.

> 3 dayMy granddaughter was a preemie and my daughter needed something to monitor her weight. We were so happy to have found this. It works wonderful when child is breastfed also. Easier to monitor how much baby has consumed. Best gift I found for our preemie

> 3 dayThis was the perfect changing pad for our nursery and knowing that it is also a scale makes it even better! It’s so great to be able to easily track our baby’s weight. We also use the app to track everything else!

> 3 dayUPDATE: Costumer service reached out to me and we are getting a refund! I am very impressed that they want to make it right. I upgraded my review from a 1 star because of their efforts. THANK YOU! This scale was not accurate for us. If I was not so crazy with a newborn, I would have reached out the company early and tried to figure out the issue. The free app is the best part for tracking babies diapers and feedings.

> 3 dayI much prefer my peanut changer. My baby and I hate the surface of the changer. It’s very hard. Not a nice surface for my little guy. Also, having to turn on Bluetooth and get the the app is a hassle when you have a screaming naked baby. I should have just gotten a basic scale, or actually just not have used one. I didn’t find it helpful. I will be selling mine and using my peanut changer moving forward.

> 3 dayThis is the Tesla of changing pads and scales. Its smart, sexy, sophisticated, simple, and essential! Every baby mama needs a changing pad so why not have the one with all the pverrbial bells and whistles, but without a single button! The design is brilliant! We dont tend to fuss too much about how much the bebe is pooping or eating but we love tracking her weight. It took a bit of effort to figure out how to set it up but once we got it going its been a dream. Im going to look for a cover (even though I love the simplicity of the look as is) because its a cold surface for a naked lil body. For now, I just put a cloth diaper or small blanket down before changing her if shes undressed.
