Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale

So many people say “you don’t need a scale at home” or that it would drive me crazy watching my newborns weight. I almost didn’t buy it, but SO glad I did! I can weigh home whenever I want and don’t have to wait for doctor visits. Also the Hatch app this connects to is amazing. Keeps track of weight, feedings (formula or BF big), sleep, and diaper changes. It’s so nice!

Even without the scale feature, this is an awesome changing pad. It is not cloth or absorbent in any way which is awesome since my little boy pees frequently during diaper changes. So easy to clean and wipe down. The weighing feature is awesome, helped guide my feedings to make sure my little guy was gaining weight properly. The app also has ability to track feedings, diapers, sleep which I found helpful. It’s definitely pricey, but not having to change covers is amazing

Worst scale and a total rip-off! The scale broke after a year and a half and since the warranty is only a year they wouldn’t do anything for me except give me 20% off. The “loading cells” are so delicate , evidently moving it to clean can break them. Why advertise it as a changing station when it Is obviously going to take some kind of movement and “downward pressure”. It claimes to have a weight limit of 44 pds. Well I guess don’t put a heavy baby on it or let the baby kick. According to their email to me “Grow is damaged when more than 44lbs of pressure has been applied to the scale which breaks the weighing mechanism.” It claims to be accurate to .25 oz but I rarely got repeatable result and often had to take multiple measurements to even get an idea . It is known that this scale is one of the most inaccurate. This company exploits new parents who want to measure newborn feedings. I completely regret this purchase. If I had had more time and energy to do more research after my baby was born, I would have seen that they are not only one of the most innacurate but have the worst warranty for scales. I am assuming they want parents to repeatedly buy this after it breaks after warranty expires , or expect them to throw it away after a year if they have only one child . There are many scales that are much better. This thing for me now is nothing more than a overpriced changing pad. My advice is to either get the Health-o-meter grow with me which has a 10 YEAR WARRANTY or Hopkins Featherweight Baby Scale which has a 3 year warranty and graduations of .16 oz and is only 40 dollars more than the stupid Hatch grow. Or just take the time to do more research. I’ve heard you can rent professional grade scales and even for around 300 you can buy a professional grade scale. The Hatch grow is not durable and won’t last through multiple children . It didn’t even last through one child for me. No Hatch. I’m not going to use your 20% off to buy your product again. I’m not stupid enough to spend another 100 dollars to replace it when it is obviously just going to break again.

Before we bought the Grow, we bought a different home scale and weighed our son every week and it took up quite a bit of space in our son’s bathroom. I wish we had known about the Grow earlier because we would’ve saved so much space. We also used to track our son’s percentile manually on the WHO chart and plot his points along the way. With the Grow, we no longer have to manually chart his percentile or write his weight down. It is so much easier to have everything track all at once! I also love that I don’t have to use a changing pad cover anymore, I can just wipe it down and its good to go. The material is also nice because it isn’t too cold on my son’s bare skin. I will definitely be recommending this to all my mommy or soon to be mommy friends! It has definitely made it so much easier keeping track of our son’s weight! Totally worth the price and piece of mind!

I am a first time mama! Before my little girl was born I was obsessed with preparing for her arrival with the best, most innovative products. Once she was born, I found that some products were unnecessary. But that was not the case with the smart changing table pad! It is truly innovative! The scale connects to an multi-purpose app that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. I love the convenient dual function that it provides as it combines two products in one; Both a diaper changing necessity and health monitoring tool! The size is nice as it will suit her even as she grows and will fit on top of any standard changing table. The scale was so helpful during the early weeks of breastfeeding with my little one. I was able to monitor how much breastmilk she was drinking by weighing her before and after a feed. It is so absolutely relieving to make sure she was getting the food she needs! This is a product that provides what you pay for and will get plenty of use! It is definitely not a product that will sit collecting dust in a closet.If you are a new mama, or the family/friends of one, questioning which baby purchases you will really value, make sure to get this one! Editing my review to say that the team at Hatch is amazing. They offered a replacement without requiring me to ship back the broken one. Thank you! Original review: I keep getting an error message every time I try to set up the scale. When I contacted support they told me it’s damaged. I haven’t done anything rough with it so it must have arrived that way. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it…not something anyone with a newborn wants to deal with. Avoid this product!

The grow is great. Its very helpful being able to measure our babys intake when breast feeding and also keep up on his weight between doctor visits. Its also a great value as a changing table. Its around the same price as the peanut yet you get all of the scale features as well -- a definite buy! Theres no real cons to this from my view -- I guess it could be more sensitive (measures to nearest .25 oz), but if you look at just the plain baby scales on amazon, most of them only go to the .5 oz, so I dont really view this as a negative given that I dont see any better competitors in the market.

It works well until it doesn’t. The foot broke off of the base and it doesn’t work anymore, was only able to use for a few months. It wasn’t worth the cost due to the limited use.

What a great product! Began using right away and noticed some inconsistencies so I emailed customer support. And lo and behold, it was because I set it up incorrectly! Since it’s such a precise scale if it’s touching the sides of the changing table it will record that as part of my babies weight, who would’ve known?! You guys, this product is so great! Not to mention it’s sold by a company that stands behind it 100%. I’ll be buying one for baby shower gifts from now on. The fact that you can easily weigh your baby on the same surface as changing them is perfect! Don’t get me started on measuring breast-feedings because WOW!! No more worries about how much my baby is eating. Buy one, it’s worth it!

Love this product! My intent was to breastfeed my little one. However, when I brought him home, we had several issues including tongue tie, lack of milk supply and difficulties latching. It was disheartening to see how much time we would spend breastfeeding without knowing the actual results on demand. We would have to wait for the pediatricians appt to know if we were successful or not with weight gain from breast feeding. This was super stressful for a new mom. With the hatch baby grow, I can effectively monitor weight gain and how much my little one is drinking with each breast feeding session! Highly recommend!
