> 3 dayThe smell right out of the package is terrible. It’s like I’m newly pregnant again and ready to vomit. I hope this goes away overnight. If not I may have to take it to the basement or garage to air out. It’s a really bad smell and I have a feeling it will linger for some time. Additional Review Later: The smell went away a couple of days later and we love this product and highly recommend it. If you are looking for a scale to avoid weight check appointments this scale is not the one... it isnt as accurate as pediatrician/lactation consultant scales and you will still have to go in for a weight check. However, it is good to have for peace of mind. I wouldnt buy this scale before baby is born (unless you are expecting a premature baby). I would buy it after to see if we wanted it then.

> 3 dayIf you are obsessed with details and have a newborn this is 100% for you. I purchased for my 2 week old and already had a changing pad but was intrigued about the weight feature on this. It’s super helpful for breastfeeding when you have no clue how much baby is eating. There seems to be a .5 oz variance at each weigh in but for the most part you can get a good idea if she’s eating enough. I have had it for a little over a month now. The app also allows you to report naps and dirty diapers so you can keep track of everything in the same place.

> 3 dayThis scale might be fine if you generally want to track weight, but it’s not useful for weighted feedings to see how much baby is transferring from the breast. It is often inaccurate and even if I gave an ounce and a half in a bottle it would only register it as a half ounce, for example. As a changing pad, the grey is easy to clean but a little uncomfortable for baby.

Greater than one weekAdore this product for my twins. It’s been within a few ounces of my pediatricians scales every time and is very easy to use. My husband set it down too hard on the changing table after using it for a few months and something was damaged. Contacted customer service and I had a brand new one sent to me within 48 hours. Excellent product and excellent customer service. I originally purchased this scale as a suggestion from a lactation consultant because I had NICU preemies, but recommend for any mom (especially breastfeeding) to ensure your baby is gaining weight appropriately! For twin (or more) moms this product is great and allows you to add multiple children! It’s very easy to toggle between the kids and makes it easy to track each ones growth.

> 3 dayWe wanted to like this changing pad. The scale and app portion are perfectly fine, but the width dimension with the hook knobs is a little on the large side. It would not fit in our changing pad tray on our babys dresser, and if we took the tray off it would hang of the edges of the dresser. Not safe. The width is just too large for a standard babys dresser. We could squeeze it slightly to fit in the tray, but then the scale measurements are completely inaccurate. Another problem I had is the unit is not level. It wobbles. For such an overly expensive scale youd think the thing would be level. Finally, the pad is very hard. No cushion whatsoever. Our baby is a little fussy for changing and everything we can do to make her more comfortable makes her less likely to get irritated. We have used it so we cant return it but will be trying to sell it. We bought a munchkin changing pad for a fraction of the cost and could not be happier with it. We may buy a separate scale to weigh the baby.

> 3 dayOur son was born at 31 weeks gestation and was the size of a 27 week old baby, due to a chromosomal defect affecting just the placenta. Because of this we were really worried about his weight gain. Hatch Baby has been a lifesaver. We weigh him every day at the same time to track his progress. It is so fun watching him gain each day. We have weekly appointments at the doctors office and the scale there always matches our Hatch Baby scale so I am confident in its accuracy. This is such a great tool for anyway wanting to track their babys weight/health.

> 3 dayLove love love this product! It saved us a follow up trip to a lactation consultant. As a first time, breastfeeding mom this changing pad gives me the information I need to know to monitor my babys weight gain at a frequency Im comfortable with - no more waiting months for the next doctors appointment! It also allows me to assess my activity and dietary choices to ensure my milk production is not negatively impacted. The pad fits well on a standard dresser top and Ive got not complaints in the look department. The pad is sleek and clean, also cleanups are quick and easy! The app is also super useful and straight forward to use. I can throw away all my diaper & feeding journal sheets of paper :D I just wish I had this from day 1 when I brought my baby home!

> 3 dayOur baby was born 5lbs full-term so we constantly stress about if he’s gaining weight. With breastfeeding there is no way to know exactly how much he was feeding so we wanted a scale to help guide us. The Hatch has been perfect for this. I can’t speak to how precise it is (I didn’t place a scientifically measured weight on it to see what it said) but I will say based on the weights at the doctors office it’s very good. It is great for consistency... pre- and post- feed weighs and showing over the course of a week or few days the progress the little guy is making. What’s even better is the app. It is necessary to use the scale (there is no screen that shows the weight). But it records the weights, feed time/amounts, diapers, timing and duration of feeds, sleep, pumping schedule, etc. You can enter data manually or hit the start button and have the app record it for you. There is a dashboard that keeps the info readily available so you know when the next feed will be.

> 3 dayI bought this right before I had my son a few months ago and am SO happy I did, even though it was a bit more expensive than a normal changing pad: -looove that I can just wipe it off when things get messy. I have enough laundry to clean lol so its nice not to have to also wash a changing pad cover -hes an eating champ now but it was really reassuring the first month when i had no idea what I was doing and I could see how much he was eating when breastfeeding -Its wonderful not to have to pack him up to head to the docs office if I want to see how much he weighs. I like that I can see all of his weight charted out in the app graph -the color works perfectly in my baby boys room but neutral enough if we ever had a girl! :) Highly recommend to any new parents out there. The first month can be so overwhelming and having this really gave me the confidence that my baby was eating and gaining enough! One less thing to worry about...
