Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale

I bought this right before I had my son a few months ago and am SO happy I did, even though it was a bit more expensive than a normal changing pad: -looove that I can just wipe it off when things get messy. I have enough laundry to clean lol so its nice not to have to also wash a changing pad cover -hes an eating champ now but it was really reassuring the first month when i had no idea what I was doing and I could see how much he was eating when breastfeeding -Its wonderful not to have to pack him up to head to the docs office if I want to see how much he weighs. I like that I can see all of his weight charted out in the app graph -the color works perfectly in my baby boys room but neutral enough if we ever had a girl! :) Highly recommend to any new parents out there. The first month can be so overwhelming and having this really gave me the confidence that my baby was eating and gaining enough! One less thing to worry about...

This scale might be fine if you generally want to track weight, but it’s not useful for weighted feedings to see how much baby is transferring from the breast. It is often inaccurate and even if I gave an ounce and a half in a bottle it would only register it as a half ounce, for example. As a changing pad, the grey is easy to clean but a little uncomfortable for baby.

Works great to weigh your baby, but it wasn’t sensitive enough to check if my baby was getting any milk from me when my supply went down and that is why we bought it. It woukd get 5 stars if it did. Love the app that keeps track of feedings and diaper changes. It’s easy to use. It also has a timet to keep track of feedings that saves in your app!

We bought this after our daughter was having trouble putting on weight while breastfeeding. It gave us invaluable peace of mind during that super stressful time. We still use it to weigh her occasionally 4 months later and I love knowing shes growing like she should! Weve compared to the doctors scale and we are always right on. Its obviously expensive just for a changing pad, but its comfortable and easy to clean, so it works really well just for that too. The only issue weve had is that the feet left marks on the top of her white dresser. I havent been able to get them off, but honestly I havent tried that hard. Future me will have to deal with that, but something to keep in mind if you have this on a light colored surface.

Theres a lot to like. But putting in times is SUPER annoying. The AM/PM it defaults to doesnt make sense, it doesnt keep your time when you need to edit it (say you put in 12:15 and it wrongly had PM so you go to change it to AM - it defaults back to the current time as opposed to just letting you edit the time you already saved - super annoying). You cannot tell it to default to numeric entry - it always defaults back to the clock view. The AM/PM indicator has TERRIBLE contrast, so Im usually picking the wrong one. Some of the features are hidden in menus - hard to find the bluetooth link to weigh the baby. Length measures are also in a strange place. Ive had issues with zeroing out the scale a few times as well, which was annoying with a squirming infant in hand. Better than the alternatives - Yes, Id say so. But amazing? Falls short of that

The smell right out of the package is terrible. It’s like I’m newly pregnant again and ready to vomit. I hope this goes away overnight. If not I may have to take it to the basement or garage to air out. It’s a really bad smell and I have a feeling it will linger for some time. Additional Review Later: The smell went away a couple of days later and we love this product and highly recommend it. If you are looking for a scale to avoid weight check appointments this scale is not the one... it isnt as accurate as pediatrician/lactation consultant scales and you will still have to go in for a weight check. However, it is good to have for peace of mind. I wouldnt buy this scale before baby is born (unless you are expecting a premature baby). I would buy it after to see if we wanted it then.

Accurate measurements but the phone app is otherwise barely functional

This was the perfect changing pad for our nursery and knowing that it is also a scale makes it even better! It’s so great to be able to easily track our baby’s weight. We also use the app to track everything else!

I was looking for a non fabric changing pad for our nursery and this was the only one that fits. My changing table is exactly 16 inches, and this has two little white plastic pieces on the sides to hold the safety belt, so it’s kind of a tight squeeze but it works! Have not used it yet, but looks nice and seems like it will be easy to clean.

I was able to monitor how much breastmilk she was drinking by weighing her before and after a feed. It is so absolutely relieving to make sure she was getting the food she needs! This is a product that provides what you pay for and will get plenty of use! It is definitely not a product that will sit collecting dust in a closet.If you are a new mama, or the family/friends of one, questioning which baby purchases you will really value, make sure to get this one!
