Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale

This product is great until about 3-4 months in when the little feet start popping off with normal use. I have 3 kids and after our second I wanted a white wipe clean changing pad for obvious reasons. The wipe clean factor of this changing pad is exactly what I wanted. But now here I am 6-8 months in and 2 feet have come off and so the pad wobbles back and forth which is very annoying. The scale won’t work because now the feet are missing. Then one of the strap pieces broke off right when my youngest needs to be strapped in regularly because she likes to flip all over the place when she’s being changed. I feel like this is now a safety issue. The straps shouldn’t be able to break off like this. Yes you should always be watching your child on the changing pad, but now I have no way of keeping her from flipping over as I try to change her diaper. I’m very disappointed that for the price this changing pad didn’t last more than a few months.

There is an easy dashboard that keeps track of all your data for a quick at-a-glance view. This is next level baby care! The Grow also tracks your feeding times, sleep patterns, diapers schedule, and pumping schedule. All this information is great to have and share with your pediatrician or specialist. It has helped us to solve some sleep issues and keep us track with feeding times/frequencies. Again, we cant say enough positive things about this product. I love this because I am able to tell that my baby is gaining the proper amount in between doctors appointments. The app is super helpful because it doesnt just track weight...it tracks feedings, diapers, sleep, weight, length, and pumping. I love that I can do all my tracking in one place. The scale is reliable and easy to use and clean. We had a traditional changing pad with covers and we were having to clean the covers every day. Now it is a quick wipe down and you move on!

I wish I had known about this changing pad a year ago. My granddaughter had a difficult first year and was in and out of the hospital. Her parents and doctors were very concerned about and carefully monitored her weight and fluid intake. This would have been so helpful to her parents -- who waited anxiously for her doctors appointments to monitor her growth. I bought this, but the baby is now over a hear old and too wiggly to get accurate readings. The pad itself is very comfortable and easily cleaned, but it would be more appropriate and useful for younger babies (which is why I gave it only 4 stars). Also, you need to be sure you have space in your phone because an app needs to be installed to use the weighing scale feature.

UPDATE: Costumer service reached out to me and we are getting a refund! I am very impressed that they want to make it right. I upgraded my review from a 1 star because of their efforts. THANK YOU! This scale was not accurate for us. If I was not so crazy with a newborn, I would have reached out the company early and tried to figure out the issue. The free app is the best part for tracking babies diapers and feedings.

I am a first time mama! Before my little girl was born I was obsessed with preparing for her arrival with the best, most innovative products. Once she was born, I found that some products were unnecessary. But that was not the case with the smart changing table pad! It is truly innovative! The scale connects to an multi-purpose app that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. I love the convenient dual function that it provides as it combines two products in one; Both a diaper changing necessity and health monitoring tool! The size is nice as it will suit her even as she grows and will fit on top of any standard changing table. The scale was so helpful during the early weeks of breastfeeding with my little one. I was able to monitor how much breastmilk she was drinking by weighing her before and after a feed. It is so absolutely relieving to make sure she was getting the food she needs! This is a product that provides what you pay for and will get plenty of use! We wanted to like this changing pad. The scale and app portion are perfectly fine, but the width dimension with the hook knobs is a little on the large side. It would not fit in our changing pad tray on our babys dresser, and if we took the tray off it would hang of the edges of the dresser. Not safe. The width is just too large for a standard babys dresser. We could squeeze it slightly to fit in the tray, but then the scale measurements are completely inaccurate. Another problem I had is the unit is not level. It wobbles. For such an overly expensive scale youd think the thing would be level. Finally, the pad is very hard. No cushion whatsoever. Our baby is a little fussy for changing and everything we can do to make her more comfortable makes her less likely to get irritated. We have used it so we cant return it but will be trying to sell it. We bought a munchkin changing pad for a fraction of the cost and could not be happier with it. We may buy a separate scale to weigh the baby.

This scale is nice to have to track a babys weight. Honestly, after about 2 weeks youre probably going to forget/not care anymore about regularly tracking weight. The app is pretty good. You have to randomly zero out the scale about half the time, but not the other half which is annoying. You can calculate how much a baby eats by weighing before and after a feeding, but again, half the time the app glitches and erases the initial weight. The changing pad itself is cold and slick. My baby spends the whole diaper change in a moro position with arms and legs outstretched, rocking back and forth and sliding around way more than on any other type of surface. The contours arent very high so without the little belt to hold him down (which falls off the scale way too easily), he seems very at risk of rolling himself off. Hes only 3w old so when hes actually able to move around even more, I cant imagine how easily he could roll himself off. But that kinda slick material is easy to clean, so theres your trade-off.

Our son was born at 31 weeks gestation and was the size of a 27 week old baby, due to a chromosomal defect affecting just the placenta. Because of this we were really worried about his weight gain. Hatch Baby has been a lifesaver. We weigh him every day at the same time to track his progress. It is so fun watching him gain each day. We have weekly appointments at the doctors office and the scale there always matches our Hatch Baby scale so I am confident in its accuracy. This is such a great tool for anyway wanting to track their babys weight/health.

Works great to weigh your baby, but it wasn’t sensitive enough to check if my baby was getting any milk from me when my supply went down and that is why we bought it. It woukd get 5 stars if it did. Love the app that keeps track of feedings and diaper changes. It’s easy to use. It also has a timet to keep track of feedings that saves in your app!
