I love this changing table with the scale it erased so much stress while breastfeeding if my little guy was getting enough/ putting weight on in the first couple weeks! Now it’s just nice to see his progress between pediatrician appointments

This is a really cool product. Do you need it? Probably not, but if you are wanting to splurge and are interested in having a changing pad/scale this is a fantastic product. As a changing pad alone, its nice it not having to purchase extra changing pad covers- this one can get pooped on and wet all you have to do is wipe it down after changes, which is much more user friendly than a cloth changing pad with multiple covers. As a scale, it works well. You just set baby on the scale and connect your smart phone to the hatch app, then use the app to take and record baby’s weight. It’s really easy to figure out. It’s a splurge for sure, but if you are interested in creating a smart nursery it’s a cool product.

The Hatch Baby Grow is must have tool for all newborns and parents alike. The ease of use, stylish design, and most importantly, the valuable information and tracking data this product gives you is crucial to making sure your baby is healthy and growing. Our son, Micah, was born one month early at 5lbs 3oz. One of our main goals was to get as much weight on him as possible in the coming months. Luckily, he took to breastfeeding but we still werent sure how much food he was getting per feeding. The Hatch Baby allowed us to measure his weight before a feeding then after to compare his intake. The information we were receiving put us at ease and helped to plan our future feedings. Micah is now 13lbs thanks to the Grow unit. All the readouts and tracking is controlled by The Hatch Baby app. The app is easy to use and totally customizable. There is an easy dashboard that keeps track of all your data for a quick at-a-glance view. This is next level baby care! The Grow also tracks your feeding times, sleep patterns, diapers schedule, and pumping schedule. All this information is great to have and share with your pediatrician or specialist. It has helped us to solve some sleep issues and keep us track with feeding times/frequencies. Again, we cant say enough positive things about this product. Thank you to the people at Hatch Baby for helping our family grow healthy and strong!

We wanted to like this changing pad. The scale and app portion are perfectly fine, but the width dimension with the hook knobs is a little on the large side. It would not fit in our changing pad tray on our babys dresser, and if we took the tray off it would hang of the edges of the dresser. Not safe. The width is just too large for a standard babys dresser. We could squeeze it slightly to fit in the tray, but then the scale measurements are completely inaccurate. Another problem I had is the unit is not level. It wobbles. For such an overly expensive scale youd think the thing would be level. Finally, the pad is very hard. No cushion whatsoever. Our baby is a little fussy for changing and everything we can do to make her more comfortable makes her less likely to get irritated. We have used it so we cant return it but will be trying to sell it. We bought a munchkin changing pad for a fraction of the cost and could not be happier with it. We may buy a separate scale to weigh the baby.

I LOVE this scale and if it weren’t for a couple issues I would give it 5 stars. It worked perfect for months then started having issues with getting accurate weights. Customer service said they were fine but there’s no way she lost two pounds in a day. Sometimes it works perfect sometimes it gives me crazy different readings back to back. Maybe it’s becuase she’s older now? The other thing I would love to see changed is if you could designate breastfed or not and use the WHO charts for breastfed babies if applicable. That would really make the app perfect. I love that I can monitor her intake, monitor loss when she’s sick and automatically plot her growth curve. My doc even loves it!

So yes, the scale is wonderful, easy to use ... a bit weird in that it does not have a display like most scales, and you have to zero nearly each time you use it. BUT ... I can overlook those items easily, since they would be costly and likely unnecessary, and most significantly, because the Hatch Baby app is so terrific! You can log a diaper type, WET or DIRTY, a feeding (bottle or breast, start and end times, amount down to the decimal point of ounces, and any special notes), sleep time complete with sleep timer, and so much more. This app frankly blows my mind ... its so intuitive and easy to use, even my babys grandma can do it :) If you like the scale, thats great, I do too ... but the app, with its Alexa command set and easy of use for recording and sharing a TON of details you might need for your doctor or other caregivers, is the real reason to buy this scale. Of course, you can get the app without the scale, so theres that ... but combined, its a great deal and one every new parent should consider.

Worst scale and a total rip-off! The scale broke after a year and a half and since the warranty is only a year they wouldn’t do anything for me except give me 20% off. The “loading cells” are so delicate , evidently moving it to clean can break them. Why advertise it as a changing station when it Is obviously going to take some kind of movement and “downward pressure”. It claimes to have a weight limit of 44 pds. Well I guess don’t put a heavy baby on it or let the baby kick. According to their email to me “Grow is damaged when more than 44lbs of pressure has been applied to the scale which breaks the weighing mechanism.” It claims to be accurate to .25 oz but I rarely got repeatable result and often had to take multiple measurements to even get an idea . It is known that this scale is one of the most inaccurate. This company exploits new parents who want to measure newborn feedings. I completely regret this purchase. If I had had more time and energy to do more research after my baby was born, I would have seen that they are not only one of the most innacurate but have the worst warranty for scales. I am assuming they want parents to repeatedly buy this after it breaks after warranty expires , or expect them to throw it away after a year if they have only one child . There are many scales that are much better. This thing for me now is nothing more than a overpriced changing pad. My advice is to either get the Health-o-meter grow with me which has a 10 YEAR WARRANTY or Hopkins Featherweight Baby Scale which has a 3 year warranty and graduations of .16 oz and is only 40 dollars more than the stupid Hatch grow. Or just take the time to do more research. I’ve heard you can rent professional grade scales and even for around 300 you can buy a professional grade scale. The Hatch grow is not durable and won’t last through multiple children . It didn’t even last through one child for me. No Hatch. I’m not going to use your 20% off to buy your product again. I’m not stupid enough to spend another 100 dollars to replace it when it is obviously just going to break again.

I never write reviews but my frustration over this scale made me want to warn others. I do not recommend this product. I love data and was so excited to buy a changing pad that doubled as a scale. Ive had it for just over a year now and it has been inaccurate and glitchy at best and at worst doesnt work at all. Because of this, I rarely use the weight feature and usually just use it as a changing pad. I wish I had saved my money and just bought a regular pad. My daughter is almost a year old now and I decided I wanted to weigh her today, just for fun. After changing the batteries (which somehow ran out despite me not actually using the scale feature in months) and syncing it to the app, I received a pop-up stating that [theyve] detected a critical error with my hatch baby grow. This pop-up renders both the scale and app unusable. Apparently too much weight or dropping the scale can cause this type of error but I doubt my 8th percentile daughter put too much pressure on a scale thats been stationary on a dresser top for the past year. Im so incredibly disappointed with this product and I would recommend that others who want a baby scale buy one that has its own display and doesnt rely on an app.

Extremely displeased with this product and returning. The app requires an upgrade to even connect to the scale/pad, but refuses to udate. Ive tried everything to get it to connect and it continues to fail. I contacted the support desk via email and hear nothing waited a week and contacted again and nothing. Then I called their support number and got a message that they are no longer taking live calls. Without the app the scale feature is nonexistent so I have a 150 dollar piece of plastic with straps.

Overall this is really nice scale, which we use as our primary changing pad in our nursery. The quality is top-notch, in particular the ability to easily clean it, and the integration with the hatch baby app is nice. We used this on a daily basis to track our sons weight gain until he was back up to birth weight, and having the scale integrated into the changing pad meant we could weigh him as we were changing his diapers, rather than having to do it separately. The accuracy also seems quite good, with weights being in line with what we get at the doctors office, plus or minus a quarter ounce. My one complaint is that it nails the advanced scenarios but falls short on a basic one: theres no read out of the weight on the device, which means you need to connect your phone or tablet via bluetooth in order to get the readout, and sometimes you just dont have that many hands. On the whole, though, its great.
