This is a pretty good product, easy to use, does what it needs to most of the time. The only exterior design flaw is that its not very stable, rounded edges and an off center support make it easy to knock over. falling over exacerbates the second issue. The battery connection is absolute crap. It jiggles loose constantly and youll suddenly find that its just dead despite having been plugged in all day. They could have found a dozen ways to secure the battery cable but they seem to prefer selling new ones. I had to shell out about $80 the week I bought the camera because there is no warranty on the battery and they did nothing to troubleshoot to problem. But, if you open up the back and press firmly on the plastic part of the battery connection with something hard it will go back to working until one of the next times you reach for it in the dark and it falls off your nightstand.

I have had this camera/additional camera for the play for for a little over 2 years. The night vision on one of the cameras started to became extremely dark, we were unable to see our son. I immediately contacted Infant Optics. They asked me a few basic questions, had me try 2 things -- and when those didnt work they rush shipped me a brand new one. No further questions asked. We were unsure if we wanted to keep this monitoring system with another baby on the way, but after this experience and our overall love of this product we will ABSOLUTELY be keeping this monitoring system. Not only is their customer service fantastic, the product is beyond everything a parent could hope for. The range on the bluetooth is also extremely convenient.

Our old monitors (Summer Infant Touch) were humming loudly and getting irritating. Having 3 kids in 3 separate rooms, we needed to replace the monitors and didnt want the hassle of dealing with multiple monitors like we had done for the past few years. The DXR-8s scan mode allows us to have an individual camera in each room sending a video and audio feed to a single monitor for us to monitor. It is so convenient. The scan mode rotates between rooms throughout the night and gives us peace of mind. The shortcut button is also wonderful for quick adjustments during the middle of the night. The picture quality is great and the audio is clear--plus there is little feedback! We are certainly pleased with our new purchase, which we made after a considerable amount of research. We see now why the DXR-8 received such great reviews from so many reviewers and websites.

My toddler and baby share a room and I am really happy that this monitor can scan from left to right and up and down with the normal lens enough that I can keep an eye on both of them at night. I did buy a separate wide angle lens but haven’t needed it so far because of the great viewing options with the normal lens! Very happy the wide angle lens is an option though as we can use it to monitor them playing in the play room with an add-on camera. Also, we are having another baby soon and I am glad we can add another camera for baby’s room while still using the same parent unit. Very practical. I do like that the cameras can do temperature readings for each room since the big kids’ room and baby’s room will likely feel different at certain times of day/night. Overall, it’s a very functional way us to keep an eye on all 3 of our “littles” wherever they are in the house. Very excited about this new monitor!

We purchased a second add-on camera for our second baby’s room. I’ve never owned another monitor so I can’t compare, but I do really like the features this camera and monitor offer. The ability to view my babies without having to just rely on noises alone makes this monitor well worth the money! It has a good range of motion for when my older son rolls around in his bed. My only complaints are that after a year the monitor will stop working and the screen will display a signal out of reach screen, even though everything is powered on and was just working. I took the battery out and let it sit for 20 mins as the manufacturer suggests, but within another week or so it started doing it again. I’m not sure if this is from the battery being plugged in for too long, but it is annoying because it sometimes stays on that screen for 3 or more minutes and powering on and off doesn’t resolve the issue, you just have to wait for it to reconnect. My other complaint is that on our first camera (the one we’ve had for over a year now) the port at which the cord plugs into the camera seems to be somewhat loose now and we have to wrap the cord around the camera with the antenna holding it in place to keep it connected. There are also times on that camera where the picture isn’t as clear, which maybe could be caused by the cord connection, but it’s just odd that one time the picture is great and the next it’s a tad blurry when the camera hasn’t been touched. Overall I’m very happy with this camera and monitor set.

We are very happy with our Infant Optics purchases because they have excellent customer service!!! When we had an issue we talked with Kristine Z. and she was extremely helpful, responsive, and made sure all of our issues were completely resolved. She even checked back with us a few days later to make sure everything was working for us. We should have reached out earlier - these cameras/monitors are worth the money because of the team of support! Very satisfied customer!

Obviously buying a baby camera is always worrisome. I Had one camera that had to be returned because the wire that supplied the power made a humming noise and I felt that it was unsafe, I had no issue with a return and they sent me another camera. I have 2 cameras and i would definitely but the cameras again. I highly recommend the wide Lens it is worth the money. I bought both lenses for my cameras. As for distance on the camera the babies room is on the right side of the house on the second floor, I have walked to my neighbors house and been inside his house and still had reception I did have to put the antenna up on the unit. If I stand on the opposite side of my neighbors house I would estimate that this is a total of 30-40 yards from the far side of my house to the far side of my neighbors house and I still had reception.

The camera and system is a great alternative for a non wifi setup, however after 2-3 years the night vision fails on the camera rendering them pretty much useless and making you purchase a new camera (has happened to 3 of my cameras so far and a forth is on its way out). The companies customer service has worked with me on a discount for a replacement camera but still a little bit of a disappointment for an otherwise great system.

I got this camera on cyber Monday while I was pregnant for a great price. They arent on sale every year but I paid full price to add an additional camera to the circuit, its worth it. I read so many reviews and the quality and customer service seemed to be the best. The battery is decent but youll want to leave it plugged in if you are using it overnight when baby is in another room. If used just for naps we charge the monitor once or twice a week. It has a good range, its still connected 3 floors down. The only weird thing is if your phone is close to the monitor, the wifi messes with the signal I think. Reasonable camera cord length. Weve had this system for 6 months and it works great, I highly recommend it.

We purchased this monitor after our previous monitor by Summer Infant was discontinued so we weren’t able to get a second camera to hook up to it, so we took advantage of the opportunity to try out a new brand! The good reviews and personal recommendations encouraged us to go with this monitor, and having used it for a while I thought I’d leave a quick review. Pros: Battery life is pretty good It’s nice to be able to turn off the beep for when the battery is low or you go out of range It has the temperature of the room, which is GREAT, our last one didn’t have that It has an icon to show when the talk button is being pressed and the camera end is able to hear you (another feature I like that our last one didn’t have) It has most of the features I expect (2 way communication, video screen, ability to turn on and off the screen to save battery, night vision) Cons: Image is not the most amazing for nighttime use, it’s still a little grainy (our last monitor was the same if not a little better) The image is choppy, especially at night. It doesn’t flow smoothly like a video ought to, instead it is like a bunch of pictures stitched together quickly (our last monitor was way better in this respect) I wish you could adjust the volume on the monitor elsewhere rather than going into the menu each time The kickstand is a little flimsy and it falls over by itself a lot When you turn the screen on it flashes the last image it showed, then updates to the current image. It makes it look like my kid is moving when he’s been still for who knows how long! I miss the charging station of our last monitor, you could just plop it on the station to charge instead of having to plug it in and keep track of the plug and make sure it doesn’t fall off the back of your nightstand when you unplug it for a minute… It was a really nice feature! It would be nice to see the percentage of battery left rather than just estimate based on the battery image looking less or more full Unsure: Range – our friends tell us the range is amazing on their unit, but we’ve had it break up a couple times within our small house (though we think there is lead paint in the walls or something else to prevent it from working 100%. Our last monitor worked about the same) I’m not sure what the antenna does, if it actually helps anything or is just in the way. We haven’t tried or needed the second lens yet, maybe with the baby it will be more helpful since he doesn’t move all around the crib like the older kid does I haven’t figured out what the short cut button is for, and why they dedicated so much space to it Overall a pretty good monitor, and I think
