Infant Optics DXR-8 Add-on Camera (Not Compatible with DXR-8 PRO)

We bought this monitor to replace a cheaper one that we absolutely hate. I was seeking a monitor that had clear picture and sound but also that allowed the screen brightness to dim or brighten as I like leaving the monitor on at night but hate how bright they are. I also needed a monitor that could show the whole darn crib. Our old one had a cord that was too short to raise the camera any further so there was no way to capture the entire crib. Seriously? So, needless to say, this one is a major and drastic improvement. I appreciate the large screen size, the ability to switch to different cameras, the ease of turning up and down the volume, the scan feature, the long length of the camera cord, and the ability to change screen brightness.

We bought this for our first born, have used it for the last two years without issue and have loved it! We purchased a second camera for our twins this summer. The added camera was easy to set up, however, it stopped connecting to the monitor after about 2 months. I contacted customer service and notified them that I went through all their troubleshooting and still could not get the second camera to connect. Their customer service representative walked me through the process of returning the camera and sent me a new one, free of charge. It was honestly the most wonderful customer service experience I have had. The new camera is working perfectly and the representative I worked with even followed up to see if that fixed our problem! Highly recommend this product and company!

Works great as a second camera for my original system. Zoom on any of these original cameras is trash but it works. Just grainy. I wish there was an easier way to flip between cameras like adding it as a shortcut instead of having to go through the menu every time

Hands down this is the best baby monitor on the market and the best company. I had my first camera and monitor for 2 years- it has survived my toddler throwing it across the room multiple times when I had it sitting on his crib (it is now where he cant reach it). I love the thermometer on it, I look at it constantly- It made me realize my sons room had a heating/cooling problem that we had the HVAC company come out to correct. I love the how much it can turn- I can literally see my toddler in his room anywhere in his room when he gets out of bed and zoom in as close on my baby to even see him breathing. I now have a second child and bought the add on camera. I love the scan mode that it goes back and forth between cameras every few seconds. My monitor charging port broke a few weeks before my second son was born and wouldnt charge anymore, even though I was a year out of warranty Infant Optics replaced it free of charge. I received the replacement in 2 days too! I dont think I could survive without this camera.

I would highly recommend this product to any of my friends and family. The camera and monitor is extremely easy to install and very user friendly. I just recently added an additional camera and it was very simple to set up. Their customer service is also exceptional and very efficient! I needed a new charger cable for my second camera and got a replacement within a few days. I was blown away with how easy they made it to contact them and resolve my issue. I highly recommend this baby monitor.

We first ordered the camera and monitor set and then the add-on camera, and have been using it for the past 6 weeks and really like it. The picture is very clear whether it is day or night. If you zoom x2 it gets a little fuzzy but I still utilize it and I think the quality is good for how close you can zoom in. The best feature is the span on the camera, I can span the entire room from the monitor, an awesome feature, you can place the camera in one spot and not move it even if you move furniture around or if you have a toddler you are watching. The only thing I would like to see improved would be the battery life, if i charge it right before i put my daughter down it will last about 8-9 hours with use of the monitor, but to be safe i just keep it on the charger all night long.

Good system. All around happy with this purchase. We scan between two kids and everything functions as described. My only caution/complaint is the temperature function. The thermometer attached to each camera is way off. It overstates the temperature in our kids’ rooms by 4-5 degrees. Here we were trying to cool their rooms to a comfortable sleeping temperature and then wondering why the rooms and our kids were uncomfortably cold. Once we put Google Nest sensors in the rooms and saw the real temperature in there, we realized these cameras were to blame. I’m not sure if the camera thermometer is just bad tech or if the camera emits enough heat to affect the thermometer, but either way, they are unreliable.

Infant optics’s team stands behind their product no matter what . Very reliable product & excellent response customer service. This is a user friendly good quality product . If you re looking for a baby camera - its a no brained getting this one .

This was an add on camera for my second child. I had a small issue with the charger on my first camera (it made a high pitched noise), and Infant Optics sent me a replacement charger. After approximately 6 months with the second camera, it started to get difficult to see my son in the dark; it still worked fine if the room was well lit. It gradually got worse and worse until we couldnt see him at all anymore with night vision. I contacted Infant Optics and they were great about sending me a replacement camera. My only issue is that I had to pay return shipping, and had to send the camera back before they sent a new one, so I was without a camera for a couple days. They did provide expedited shipping, so the new camera came quickly.
