This is the3rd or 4th monitor we have purchased, 2nd recently (2 prior were many years ago!). Did a lot of research and had ordered another monitor, comet o find out it was as straightforward as synching a space mission... Needless to say, we returned it because as a mom with a newborn the LAST thing I want to do is have to rely on someone else to help me set up the cameras, beeping sound were annoying and eventually would bother baby and me... Did MUCH MORE research and landed on this monitor! WE LOVE IT! Easy to set up, functional, intuitive and VOILA, cameras are ready and dont unpair!! Like I said, Peace of mind and even use the other camera to help see my older kiddos while I am with baby. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for newborns, older babies or kiddos. We also bought the wide angle lens. The whole experience has been night and day compared to the summer monitor we had bought. Good luck!

Our old monitors (Summer Infant Touch) were humming loudly and getting irritating. Having 3 kids in 3 separate rooms, we needed to replace the monitors and didnt want the hassle of dealing with multiple monitors like we had done for the past few years. The DXR-8s scan mode allows us to have an individual camera in each room sending a video and audio feed to a single monitor for us to monitor. It is so convenient. The scan mode rotates between rooms throughout the night and gives us peace of mind. The shortcut button is also wonderful for quick adjustments during the middle of the night. The picture quality is great and the audio is clear--plus there is little feedback! We are certainly pleased with our new purchase, which we made after a considerable amount of research. We see now why the DXR-8 received such great reviews from so many reviewers and websites.

I have been very satisfied with my infant optics monitor and camera, as well as the add on camera. I love that the cameras move to see the entire room, and that you can use multiple cameras on the same monitor. I have not seen an equivalent product with a similar price point. I recently had a sudden issue with my monitor (after having no issues for almost 2 years) and received excellent and prompt customer service. Infant Optics sent me a new monitor, even though my monitor was technically outside the 1 year warranty period. I highly recommend this monitor and it’s add on cameras as a low cost monitor with a variety of desirable features.

I have generally been happy with this baby monitor, so I purchased the extra camera for it when my wife and I had our second baby a few weeks ago. I wanted to share some thoughts about something I DONT like about this monitor, particularly as it relates to add-on cameras. First Ill explain briefly the issue we had with our previous monitor, then Ill explain how that ties into what we dont like about THIS monitor. My wife and I loved our previous baby monitor, but we ran into issues when our second child was born and we started using the monitor with a second camera. That was when we discovered a quirk with the monitors software. With a single camera we had liked the Eco mode in which the monitors screen and audio would both shut off after about ten seconds of inactivity in our daughters room, then turn back on as soon as sound was detected. The monitor was silent unless our daughter was making noise, and this probably contributed to the monitors fantastic battery life. My wife and I liked this feature especially if were watching a movie or something; we would turn the monitors volume up so that we would easily hear it if our daughter started crying, but it was completely silent otherwise. But when we added a second camera we discovered that when you put the system into scan mode (where the monitor alternates between two or more cameras) Eco mode is no longer a possibility. Instead, the monitor cycles through the cameras for ten seconds each, with the screen ALWAYS on and the speaker constantly emitting a white noise. Aside from the noise being annoying, this also meant that the monitors battery drained MUCH more quickly than before. That was enough to put me back on the search for a new baby monitor. I selected this one on the basis of a huge number of positive reviews, and overall my wife and I are quite pleased with it. Setup was easy, the image quality is great, and we love the ability to pan the cameras. I also like the ability to select, at the touch of a single button, whether to view one camera, the other camera, or to scan between them. What I DONT like is the way the audio works in scan mode. Unlike our previous monitor, the screen on this one can be set to turn off after either 3 or 5 minutes of inactivity, even in the scanning mode. The speaker, however, does NOT turn off, so it is always emitting a white noise. With 2 cameras, this means the speaker alternates between two slightly different white noises every 12 seconds or so. This may not seem like a big deal, but when you are a light sleeper like me, its really annoying! Also, if one of our little ones starts making noise, a monitor gets our attention much more readily if the speaker was formerly silent than if it was already emitting some white noise. Im not sure why the Infant Optics monitor was designed this way. If my children are sleeping quietly, I dont need to hear static white noise transmitted from their rooms. Having said that, I otherwise like this monitor very much, and I can see why it is so popular. I notice Infant Optics responded to customers complaints about the out of range alarm; I wonder if anyone else besides me wishes the speaker could be set to be silent when the screen is off?

We first ordered the camera and monitor set and then the add-on camera, and have been using it for the past 6 weeks and really like it. The picture is very clear whether it is day or night. If you zoom x2 it gets a little fuzzy but I still utilize it and I think the quality is good for how close you can zoom in. The best feature is the span on the camera, I can span the entire room from the monitor, an awesome feature, you can place the camera in one spot and not move it even if you move furniture around or if you have a toddler you are watching. The only thing I would like to see improved would be the battery life, if i charge it right before i put my daughter down it will last about 8-9 hours with use of the monitor, but to be safe i just keep it on the charger all night long.

Infant Optics is the best in customer service! I got this baby monitor as a gift for my shower after putting it on my registry based on the reviews. I used it for a little over a year (and loved it!) before the night vision on the camera unit stopped working. I was frustrated because I was just about to buy a second camera unit to use for my second child. I emailed support to help me troubleshoot the issue, and after trying various solutions, nothing had worked. We realized that it wasn’t something I could fix from home, but I was out of the warranty period. Even so, they offered to replace my camera unit (at no cost to me) as a courtesy. The customer service agent was super accommodating and the interaction was very positive. I would definitely recommend their products to everyone!

Overall a great camera monitoring system. Range was tested up to 100 yds and worked with no issues with antenna up. The temp reading seems to be a bit higher (2-4 degrees) than actual ambient room temp. Purchased an additional camera to go with the system to be able to monitor 2 rooms, the scan feature of having the cameras automatically switch between is a great feature as well is the ability to talk through the camera. The only CON that I can see is wireless devices in the area can cause a drop in signal to either the camera or the base station. But if you move the monitor or camera away from any WIFI devices a few feet seems to mitigate the issue.

We have two cameras and one monitor. Weve been using them for about two months. Pros: - You can remotely move the camera. Great especially for toddlers who move around. Also you can mount the camera once and never have to touch it again, its always in the right place! - Good sound and picture quality. (Note there is no white noise deduction, though this doesnt bother me as much as I thought it would.) - Battery and transmission distance good. Although it seems like the battery will go from four bars to one really fast, it lasts for a while. - When you talk through the monitor the sound is clear. - You can zoom remotely. - Works well with multiple cameras, although no split screen you can set it to scan (switch views every 10 seconds). - Eady to use and great customer service! Cons: - There is no charging dock. Therefore it is easily to bend/damage the charging cable. Youll have to buy another. Also the plug is on the left side so depending which way you set it the cable can get in the way. - The low battery/no signal beep is annoyingly loud and you cant adjust it. There is no loud noise alert beep you just have to listen for crying. - The wide angle lens is great for viewing the entire room but the night vision quality with this lens is pretty bad. Night vision is fine with the other lenses.

I would definitely recommend this camera. However, my only complaint is that the green light (which helps with the night vision and serves as a light sensor) is on the bottom of the camera. As a result, if you have the camera perched up high looking down on your little one, it means that less ambient light will pass through the camera forcing it into Black/White mode rather than color. Its not a big deal as you can still see clearly, but id like to see the color screen during naps and Black/White at night time. This is a minor gripe though as the camera sends a very clear picture. In addition, we have not experienced any problems with reception, which is always good news. Previously, we had an old version of the Summer Infant monitor and camera. The summer infant was more expensive and a bit higher quality but this is a good value and gets similar functionality.

(First off, I never write reviews) But I Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this monitor. Given the great reviews I had registered for this monitor for our baby registry. We got it and at first I was not in love with it. The quality was OK, but not great. Especially for the price. Despite this, we ordered the add on camera for another room since the monitor has options for several cameras. When we received it and hooked it up we noticed that the quality was SIGNIFICANTLY better. I contacted customer service and they were absolutely phenomenal. I can honestly say that I have never had such a pleasant experience with customer service. They were very friendly, prompt, and extremely helpful. They had me ship the other monitor back and just send proof of shipping and they send the other monitor out right away. The quality of the new camera was just as good as the add on and hence the 5 star review. Also, 5 stars for the customer service. They also contacted me soon after to make sure that I was happy with the replacement. So, if you have any concerns about the quality or function of the monitor, I would contact customer service before writing it off!
