> 24 hourIt worked in that I got my documents and essential application software transferred to my new HP computer. However I was very disappointed that the USB cord connection did not work and I had to dependent on my slow Internet to move the files. It took over 24 hours, but thankfully it did. I had to wake my computers up multiple times. Was it worth the cost ? I guess it was but only 3 stars.

> 24 hourAfter not being able to use the disc that came with this product I downloaded the program from the company website where I could have purchased the product in the first place. Then after not being able to use the supplied high speed transfer cable I set things up to transfer over my home internet service. (My internet service is consistently running at 180+ Mbps download and 11+ Mbps upload speeds.) I made sure that all devices in my home other than the two computers involved in the transfer were disconnected from my WiFi network and disabled. Any devices that remain in standby mode or sleep mode were unplugged. Finally after beginning the transfer the program kept showing that there were network issues. One minute it would be running smoothly and then it would drop to little or no internet. I checked my internet by running multiple speed test throughout and there were no issues at all. With an estimated time of over 9 hours I determined that it would be easier for me to just transfer the data from my old computer to my new computer via an external hard drive. This method took me under an hour to complete. What a waste of time and money! This is a FAILED product and Amazon should remove it from its website so that no one else is duped by Laplink! (I was forced to click on one star but this a ZERO star product.)

> 24 hourI purchased PCmover as part of a new Dell desktop order. In the past, Ive used similar products to transfer files with mixed results. PCMover, however, did the job and I could not be more pleased. All files and settings moved seamlessly.

> 24 hourI used the software and transfer cable which had worked in prior years, but this time not everything transfered and some of the things that did transfer did not work properly. There was no way of determining what files were missing so I had to hire a technician to do it manually. Laplink tech support is of no help whatsoever. Its a shame that a once great product has gone so far downhill like this.

> 24 hourI recently purchased a new computer for my business. The last thing I really wanted to do was reload every application and transfer data to the new one from the old one by hand. Ive done it that way a million times. Skeptical that PCmover would work, I purchased it, figuring if it got at least 25% of the work done for me, Id be money ahead. I used an ethernet cable to connect both machines, and PCmover got the job done with hardly a hitch. I only say there was a hitch because very few of the applications could not be transferred, and PCMover told me which ones right up front. It got at least 90% of everything transferred and saved me hours of work and frustration.

> 24 hourI have used PC Mover in the past with complete success, but I couldn’t get the latest version to work at all. First I had to download a newer version to both computers. When I finally got to the point where the programs and data on the old computer were being analyzed, the whole process seemed to freeze. It ran and ran and ran for hours, saying it was “analyzing.” It never went any farther. Two online chat sessions with tech support were useless. The tech suggested the PCMover cable wasnt working. I said, So the cable that came in the box is defective? She hurried to say no, no, the PC Mover cable’s not defective, but something else (like what?) might work “better” — better than not working at all, I assume. The second time, the chat was cut off abruptly and when I tried to get back in touch I received the message that support was closed. I threw away $59 on this product. I’ll have to do everything manually. At least I’ll know it WILL get done.

> 24 hourHelping my 94 yr old father move from an older Windows 10 PC to a newer all-in-one required purchase of an add-on product to help with the process, or else totally manual transfer. Come on, Microsoft! Who buys a computer and wont need to perform this fundamental task? Win10 has removed all support for this critical transfer activity (it lost Easy Transfer in Win10) and pointed customers to this product as a preferred partner.
