It did not function as advertised. I finally stopped using it.

Laplink used to be a great product. I had great success with it previously on transferring multiple systems. I bought it to transfer programs from my old laptop to a hew laptop. I manually transferred files and downloaded programs with no issues to minimize any issues. None of the tree key programs were transferred correctly. MS Office was a disaster and had to be replaced. Acronis had to be be reinstalled after transfer and emClient had to be upgraded after not properly transferring. I used the advanced settings that I have used in the past but to no avail.

If you have an older computer and a not new but newer computer then it probably would work fabulously.

Old PC: Lenovo E580, W10P

The product worked for me as advertised. I followed the instructions and updated both computers to the latest Windows update. I used the provided cable and had no issues transferring data and programs from the old computer to the new one. It was surprisingly quick. The only slow part is using the SafeErase app on the old computer for deleting all the data and overwriting the blank disk, but I was warned about this. The data, files and programs from the old computer were seamlessly transferred to the new computer and the computer is working very well.

If I could have given it zero stars I would have. First of all it was way to much of a pain to install. I needed help and had to schedule it for early morning hours. I chose not to. It was so much easier AND HALF THE PRICE to buy an externally all hard drive and copy data and programs off the old computer and reinstall on the new one.

While Laplink did move almost everything to my new computer, many programs did not work. I eventually got most programs working on my new computer but Microsoft Office 2007 still wants a disk to fix startup issues. My new computer does not have a disk input and this is the reason I purchased Laplink in the first place (would be difficult to reload my programs without a disk drive). So for me, this purchase is almost a complete bust. Though I knew it, I think the one-time use of Laplink is disgusting and just plain wrong.
