I just cloned my 12 year old DAW PC that had been upgraded over the years from XP to Vista to Win 10 with dozens of applications for Audio and Video editing. I was really skeptical because this is a complicated setup. It worked shockingly well.

Since my old computers screen went black & I couldnt follow the PCMover instructions their tech support was able to handle the move easily.

After several calls wasting time with tech support, I ended up putting away the cable I had paid for and used the slower method of using wifi.

I bought a brand-new souped-up computer and wanted to easily move my programs and files, that were not in the cloud, from my old computer. It was a disaster and took me about a month to mostly clean up the mess this software made. I will probably never completely get it restored properly. FYI I had over 29,000 files on my old computer. Im a super user and know what Im doing.

I used this product a few years ago when I purchased a new computer. It worked O.K./Fine then so I decided to give it a try again. This time it worked super well. All data was moved over to the new computer without missing a beat.Thew amount moved was almost 1TB. I did have to recover one programs license but that wasnt a problem. It was al;so much faster than I expected. Only 4 stars on easy because I missed the part on which computer (old or new) to activate first.

Follow the instructions and you will be fine. On software such as MS Office, you will need an original source but the license will transfer. I had to locate the dvd I had used originally, even though the product was several versions old.

Im giving the software a 5-star review but ending up purchasing 2 licenses because my initial digital download purchase through HPs store (for my new HP laptop and recommended by HP) took a whopping WEEK to get a download link from HP - so do NOT buy the digital download from ANY OTHER source - go directly to LapLink. When I did that after getting nowhere with HP I had another license purchased and the software downloaded the same day.

In the past when I got a new computer I have installed each of my programs all over again. Try to remember activation codes, logins, passwords and how I had it all configured on my old computer. With PCmover my new computer was set up and ready to go with all that intact in less than 24 hours. Most of that was just letting the old computer transfer it all with PCmover to the new computer. I just had to confirm that everything was working right and have no problems running. The new computer even had the old computer Windows desktop and all icons in place.
