    Greater than one week

The physical copy and cable are basically useless. You still download the software and can use any Ethernet cable with the same results.

Used on new pc going from Windows 10 to Windows 11. This got me 90% of the way there. Did not handle iTunes well at all...was a pain on that front. But for the most part saved me a bunch of time and complexity.

Thought this would be the ticket to move files to my new computer. Tech support tried, but nothing can be done. My new computer has a 2TB hard drive, but identified as Z - start up and Windows file in C drive but only 500GB - Software will not transfer files to Z drive, only C drive, and of course it doesnt have capacity for all my files. Also, had to set up using a single monitor. This requires you to set up software and have running on both computers, so lots of time switching monitor back and forth between systems. Apparently you can transfer files individually, but with 800+ GB to transfer this will take much more time than I can devote, and my computer skills make me uncomfortable trying - I dont want to turn my new computer into a brick.

After reading the reviews, I took a chance that I might be one of the people who didnt have a problem. I was so wrong. I carefully followed all the directions only to have one problem after another. Customer support was quick to access but was only able to help with one problem that quickly gave way to multiple others. The software has very poor messaging when something goes wrong and you can waste an entire day while it says its working only to discover later that something was preventing the transfer. I lost several days trying to get this to work thinking it would be easier. It wasnt. I finally bought a high capacity flash USB drive and started manually transferring all my data to the new computer. It took me a couple of days to transfer everything, but it was straightforward and much easier in the end.

The directions are easy to follow. What is important and is not stated in the directions is that things go far easier if both pcs are connected to a monitor (that is you really need two monitors one for each pc) otherwise you have to plug and unplug pcs to one monitor in order to see that the software has been properly uploaded.

All Windows 10 versions are not the same. PCmover would not move many programs/settings from the old computer to the new one, even with both running updated versions of Windows 10.

I bought a new laptop for my husband to replace his 6 year old one. Hes not a technology guy, so setting the new one up falls to me. I had planned to use the Windows Easy Transfer and discovered it is no longer available, but Microsoft pointed me to Laplink. What a great investment! Instead of having to move his old files to a thumb drive or try to sort them out, Laplink does it for you. And it transfers most of the applications, too, so its not necessary to reload them all. The process takes awhile - about 6 hours in this case - but I set it up and let it work overnight. Well worth the cost of the program.
