> 3 dayLeviton claims all the features and stuff for a zwave network but what they dont tell you is these switches and most of their zwave products are using an outdated zwave standard. While they may work with smarthubs, all the advanced features they advertise are useless without a third party device driver. A driver which you have to write or find and install in the Smarthub settings. Part of this is due to their zwave messaging using an obsolete Hail standard. Without the third party driver, the SmartHub only sees them as generic dimmers so you only get the basic functions. The Universal Devices ISY hub allows using some of the more advanced features but UDI no longer supports the obsolete hail. Leviton is one of the only manufacturers still using this obsolete message protocol so true and full compatibility is non-existent and will only get worse. I called tech support in regards to the issue and to see about possible Over-The-Air upgrades to get to the now typical industry standard function. Their second tech (the first hung up on me) said they actually dont support OTA upgrades. Hows that for false advertising? You may be wondering why it such a big deal? The issue is, when you use the switch, all hubs are expecting a message with the status of the switch, on/off, dim levels, etc. The hail standard only sends a hail message and expects the hub to query it back for the changes. The hubs I have used dont send those queries (by default) so any scene capabilities or event triggering never happens. ensuring the latest technology Yep, from 2+ years ago. over the air updates Not according to their tech support. Also the fit and finish feels really cheap. The cover paddles rattle when touched. Personally, I also think the green LEDS makes them look cheap. I paid a premium for these switches to try to assure compatibility but it was money thrown away. I give them 2 stars as they do work as dimmers and as a generic zwave dimmer. They do work fine for LED loads - at least from what I have installed. Leviton has been around a long time and usually make good stuff. I have sold and used Leviton products for years. However, their zwave stuff leaves a lot to be desired!

> 3 dayI bought these explicitly for use with my Wink 2 Hub and Amazon Alexa at my house. Wink and Leviton claim to have support between devices which was a major driver behind my purchase of these over the cheaper GoControl units that my other family members have purchased. Except my Wink will (from time to time) say it is unable to find my device or that the device in question is not working. Amusingly, voice controls or use of the app do effectively control the dimmer, I just get an error message and then the lights turn on or off. I purchased these units so I wouldnt run into small idiosyncrasies like this so 4 stars only. At the time of this review, I was using the most up-to-date firmware for my Wink 2 Hub.

> 3 day09/11/17 Edit: * Restored the review to 4 stars -- the problem behavior I noted in the 08/31/17 vanished after a few days, and the switch now responds normally/quickly on the first try when using Alexa. 08/31/17 Edit: * Lowered to 3 stars after a few days of use -- when attempting to control this device via Alexa/Smartthings it often fails on the first try with the response Sorry, <device name> is not responding.. If I try again immediately, it works. Not sure this has anything to do with the particular switch, but currently none of my other devices behave this way. Original review: * Good price -- $35.99 which I purchased, free Prime delivery. * Staightforward installation -- though this is ZWave Plus, it doesnt appear to be any smaller than previous generation/competitor switches. Still tight to fit into existing switch boxes. * Paired easily with Smartthings V1 hub. * Much louder click in operation than older GE/Jasco switches installed in my home.

> 3 dayUse these for our ADT system for auto on/off scheduling. They well made and easy to use as long as you read the directions to add to your zwave network.

> 3 dayI recently completed an automation project where I slaved a ceiling fan to my AC blower unit in order to have it run when the AC is running to assist in home air circulation. I used the SmartThings Hub Gen3, the Aeotech SmartSwitch 6, and the Leviton Zwave Smart light switch (relay). All components integrated with ease, and setting up the automation events and logic were trivial. I also used the Samsung community IDE which allows use of community developed device handlers that allowed me to change the frequency of the power use reporting of the SmartSwitch 6 to 10 seconds. The system is working perfectly and reliably, I recommend these components for this type of application.

Greater than one weekThe install is simple if youve installed any type of switch before, but the instructions could be a little more straightforward for those less experienced. You need a neutral wire for the switch to work. Install can also be a real challenge if you dont have deep gang boxes and things can get pretty tight sometimes which isnt real good. This however is typical of any dimmer and not just this one in particular. Pros: Fade On and Fade Off which is adjustable from anywhere from Instant On/Off to just over 2 hours. Why youd want the light to fade over a period of 2 hours is beyond me, but the feature is there. Dim Level Memory. The switch remembers what level the lights were dimmed to and turns on to same level. You can even set dim level while the switch is off. LED locator and dim level lights can be turned off as well. Minimum and Maximum light levels can be set Load type is changeable for either Incandescent, CFL, or LED. Cons: These do not play nice with VeraPlus (latest firmware as of review). Including the switch into Vera is works just fine, and the ability to remote control via the app/web works, but you lose features. When switched on/off via Vera there is no fade-on/off (instant) and there is no dim memory so always turns to 100%. The other huge issue is that the status is not updated in Vera when the switch is physically used in any way no matter how much time passes. I cannot manually poll the switch as it always times out. This is just strange to me as remote functionality works and status is updated, but when physically used nothing changes on the controller. My Troubleshooting Steps: At first I thought I had a defective switch, but then I bought another one and it acts exactly the same, with the same problems. So I have one installed at proper location and one installed in test bed 5 ft from Vera. Both act the exact same. Ive Included/Excluded, factory reset switch numerous times with no results. Ive reached out of Veras forum and theres really not a whole lot of steps I can take to try for fix. I also have a DZ15S installed and this has worked perfectly without issue. It just boils down to a Comm issue. I have also reached out to Leviton and they had no immediate answers or suggestions, but Im waiting to hear back. I will update as I receive any more info In Conclusion, 2 stars for being a great dimmer with great features, but the smart features dont work as intended...with Vera anyway. That being said Im better off just buying a Lutron Maestro for half the price without smart features.

Greater than one weekI have about 5 of the GE Z Wave plugs and they are big and bulky and seem to end up blocking the other outlet on the duplex. I needed two more Z Wave plugs and decided to try these DZPA1-2BW by Leviton. They do not have a pass through outlet like the GEs but this allows for them to be much smaller in size and they mount with the plug outlet facing downward which to me makes more sense and gives you more room overall especially if you want to use the upper outlet on your duplex socket. I also thinks these are much more intuitive to use. Flashing Amber then Green to go into programing mode is a better design than the GEs that you just push a button and wait to sync up. With the GEs I have had some issues pairing them up at times and without the lights like the Levitons have, you really dont know what the problem is. These paired up within a few seconds and have great range given that they are the Z Wave Plus. First impression, these are great, better and cheaper than others. I will continue to try a few more of these as I outfit my entire home.

> 3 dayWorks as advertised. Completely happy. It came with the light almond face plate. I installed and had it working with Ring/Alexa within about 30 minutes. Would recommend and plan to purchase again in the near future.

Greater than one weekI have several of these dimmers now and one of the normal switch. The switch, dimmer, and Z-wave work fine. Has adjustments for min and max dim level that I need for my LEDs. However, the plastic rocker part makes it feel incredibly cheap. It is very loose and rattles around like crazy. Probably one of the worst switches I have used in terms of feel and build-quality. Fortunately I found a simple workaround. Take off the plastic switch face and on the backside are several holes where you can fill in with some silicone caulk. Let it dry, making sure it dries even and flush, and reinstall. Conveniently, Leviton has included a disposable practice face. After this, the switch is now rock solid. Dont know what Leviton is thinking shipping this as it is. Literally the cheapest part of it (cheap enough that they include two of them), has made the entire switch feel just as cheap. Ironically, their actually-cheap (dumb) switches feel solid compared to this.
