Throwback to 2005! I am so happy I found this mouse. I used the original MX518 from 2005 to at least 2016 and then I lost it in a move, or maybe I still have it buried in a box...but I can guarantee if I found it, its STILL WORKING! It somehow managed to escape my terrible cat who is a notorious cord chewer. This new MX518 is comfortable, crisp, responsive (as my husband said jealously when he looked at the box of my new mouse This one is better than the one I have and he bought one that is at least $250 because it charges wirelessly on its pad.) Well, guess what, my mouse will never run out of batteries mid-raid when the tank has just pulled a boss! My only tiny tiny problem, and this is my own problem, because I own a terrible cat, is that the USB cord is so thin and light and attractive to my cat who could literally sever it in one chomp of her fiendish teeth. Yes, I know people hate it, but I wish Logitech had gone braided cable with this one. Currently, I unplug and put the mouse in a safe place so she cant get it, but I know Ill lapse one day and shell chomp it. Come to think of it, I should probably search amazon for some cord protectors... gotta go!

The scroll wheels feels off coming from a g400s, the g400s was more stable and easy to track as I used it over the years, this one feels slightly slippery needs getting used to. And my palms keep sweating, ive never sweated so fast on my g400s, Actually i dont even remember sweating on my g400s ever. But for some reason my hand sweats so easily on this mx518 within minutes. I just wish they would make a g400s legendary instead, sure mx518 was good and popular, but the true real deal was the g400s as the best improvement of the mx518 back in the day. Ive used the g400s for over 8 years, bought one every 4 years, since 2012, but too bad, recently my g400s died so i was forced to buy a new one. Tried the g502 and another brand mouse they were terrible, I dont think im going to get used to sweating either.. Not sure what to do about this. I guess i can use it only on winters..

I owned several of the original MX 518 gaming mice, the grey version that had simulated dents in it and the red version. This was by far the best gaming mouse Ive ever used and this version of it brings back memories. Now its new and improved with the HERO sensor and i love it!!

I still have an older yet pretty decent condition MX518 and this one is almost identical in feel. The buttons, scroll wheel, etc. are all very similar. The pads on the bottom are much better than the original. I hope Logitech releases some more updated classics, especially the G500s. If the quality is as good as the MX518 redux, itll pretty much be a guaranteed purchase.

I dont normally write reviews, but this mouse is so much better than my old mouse I felt inspired to. I am not a mouse connoisseur, this is the most expensive mouse I have ever bought by a large margin, but I cant believe how much better of an experience it is to the bargain brand gaming mouse I was using before. I was actually very turned off and worried when I ordered since it does look quite bland, but I now realize that the design is for performance not looks. The shape is stupid to look at but feels amazing in your hand and the smooth surfaces are not as cool as blinky colorful mouses, but they are very easy to clean and give a satisfying grip. The clicking is infinitely more precise than my last mouse and that is why I got this mouse because the imprecision was driving me crazy. This mouse so far has been worth every penny. I havent had it that long so we will see how durable it is over time, but wow it has blown me away. Every problem I had with my old mouse is fixed and now enjoyable, 10/10.

Ive been involved in the pc gaming community for a good amount of years now, mainly playing fps games like counterstrike, call of duty, overwatch, and so forth to apex now; so, Ive used a good deal of mice over the years, to name some: Zowie fk-1, zowie ec1-A, logitech g703, logitech g203, Logitech g403, and the razer deathadder, and none of them feel as comfortable to hold (palm/claw hybrid) and as precise as the hero sensor in this revamped version of the mx518. Ive always heard good things about the original mx518, but I could never justify spending upwards of $150 for new one or upwards of $50 for a used one that typically had some sort of functional or cosmetic damage. When Logitech announced the mx518 remake I immediately ordered one and I already love it. It feels very comfortable to grip, has a nice look to it (I like the smooth, sparkly design on top that has a sort of ombre effect going from a dark black at the base of the mouse to a lighter grey at the top of the mouse that reminds me of the original mx518s color), and like I mentioned before the hero 16k feels like one of the smoothest, most responsive sensors Ive used in a while. First impressions, 10/10. Ill make an edit in the future after Ive used it for different games. Thanks for bringing the legend back Logitech! Edit: 2/28/19 Pros: - Great ergonomics for right hand mouse users - Design is simple, but looks great. This mouse does not have any RGB or lighting, which isnt a problem with me but could be to someone who wants a mouse with lighting for their flashy set up. - The cord is rubberized and is thinner than other Logitech mice Ive used before like the g203 (rubber) and the g403 (braided), which is nice because it fits into my mouse bungee a little easier but isnt so thin that it slides around or comes out. - This mouse weighs 101 grams which isnt the lightest mouse on the market but still feels very manageable and slides across the surface of my mouse pad with ease. - Hero 16k sensor is one of the best optical sensors on the market right now, feels very responsive and I definitely feel a difference in performance over the g203 I was using before getting the mx518. Cons: - The only issue Ive had so far with this mouse is the glossy surface. Although its sufficiently grippy and aesthetically pleasing (to me, might not be your cup of tea), if you have sweaty hands residue does build up on the surface. Nothing a quick wipe wont fix though.

This mouse has been a curse/blessing. The curse being its hard to find a mouse I can comfortable grip like this one. Blessing because its just so comfortable and my aiming performance is best with this shape. This was my first mouse back when I was 11 years old playing Delta force land warrior up until Call of Duty 1. Once it broke I tried several other mice with the razer naga being the only one that really supported my grip. I was overjoyed to see Logitech re-released this mouse, and boy does it deserve its legendary title. The only negative is that is does creek a little if I put enough pressure on it. Otherwise performance is exactly what youd expect from a hero sensor, no spins outs whatsoever. Gaming mice really have come such a long way.

I have my doubts about these being legitimate MX518 re-issues, considering they were delivered in *ziploc bags*, but as long as they worked, it would have been fine. Not only are the buttons incredibly squishy compared to the several older versions I still have (and thereby can directly compare), but one of them just flat out loses tracking frequently. Ive never right-clicked accidentally more in my life than after I swapped out my older (but better) MX518 for this one. If you were using older Logitech software for the older models, they may not work for these ones. I bought two of them at once, one of them has the tracking issues, the other one has the squishy buttons with almost no feedback. Looks like an issue with quality control. Unfortunately I waited too long swap them out, or I would definitely be returning them.

When I saw that some spin-off Logitech company, Logitech G, was remaking the MX518 mouse I was ecstatic. The MX518 was the best mouse Id ever used and since mine broke after ~7 years of use I had been looking to replace it. It may look and feel like the Logitech MX518 but it is not. My Logitech G MX518 is *already failing after only 3 months*! It has begun interpreting single clicks as double clicks. The button switch is failing. I do not recommend buying this mouse if you think you are getting a Logitech MX518. This mouse isnt it despite the name. *edit*: The Logitech RMA process is now terrible. Even after I took a video of myself using the mouse showing the defect while holding a piece of paper the tech support refused to honor the warranty. They tried to claim that my firmware version wasnt up to date (on my mouse?!) and then hung up on me *2* times while I was waiting on hold. The only way to get them to approve the RMA was to get angry and yell at them at which point suddenly the firmware version didnt matter (it never did, its a bad switch). DONT BUY LOGITECH.

I love it. Loved it then, love it now. Does exactly what I need it to and fits in my small girl hand very well. Nothing fancy and feels a little plasticky but it’s fine. Cheap and I can replace it if I need to for not much money. But I used the original version back in the day and I can say that it’s still just as good. I use it to play games and the extra buttons are good for my heal spells.
