Logitech G MX518 Gaming Mouse

Greater than one weekI wanted a replacement for the Logitech G5, not that there was anything wrong with it. But a 1600 DPI laser mouse on a 4K monitor doesn’t work. So, the 518 has the look, feel and ergonomics of the G5, and I am a fan all the way!

> 3 dayOther reviews are accurate. This isnt the same as the old mx mouses. It just doesnt feel solid like before. Minor squeaks, and a little stick in the scroll..

> 3 dayWorth it for the feel of this fantastic mouse, but the sensors are not that fast for competitive gaming.

> 3 dayI still have an older yet pretty decent condition MX518 and this one is almost identical in feel. The buttons, scroll wheel, etc. are all very similar. The pads on the bottom are much better than the original. I hope Logitech releases some more updated classics, especially the G500s. If the quality is as good as the MX518 redux, itll pretty much be a guaranteed purchase.

> 3 dayThe classic Logitech MX518 was the best mouse Ive ever owned. Everything about it always just felt right. Years ago I finally wore out the one Id had for nearly a decade and was sad I couldnt replace it. Thats no longer the case! This not be the same internals (its much more modern inside, duh) but the externals feel is EXACTLY the same. It just feels right in the hand. I could not be more pleased at having one in hand again. Best. Feeling. Mouse. Ever.

> 3 dayTL;DR: High quality mouse that feels just like the original. Good buy. When I found out that Logitech updated and rereleased the G5 (Yes, I know this is not a G5) I was quite excited. My previous mouse was on the fritz, so this seemed like a good time to try it out. So far Ive had this mouse for some months and its typical Logitech (and why I keep buying their products). The only minor gripe I have is that the mouse feels a little on the small side. Most normal people will not notice this but I have larger than average hands. Not the fault of the mouse really, but I felt it was worth pointing out. The sensor is crazy in this model, I havent gone anywhere near the maximum. I do not play FPS much anymore, so I cant comment on its accuracy there. Overall, I have barely any complaints. This is an excellent mouse if you just want a high quality mouse thats not button laden or looks like a gundam.

> 3 dayThere is a reason why these where brought back, and NOS ones in the years they where not made went for 1,000USD. Simply the perfect mouse.

> 3 dayMy original MX518 lasted 8+ years. This lasting 5 months is pathetic.

> 3 dayI dont play games but I like using gaming hardware for CAD work. Extra buttons and lots of precision make a difference. My previous mouse was a Razer Deathadder and I like this much more, primarily for the feel in the hand. It is just the right size, the mouse feels perfect to carry between thumb and pinky and the other fingers fall naturally in their spots. The Razer I always struggled with it feeling too wide, I never feel like my fingers are in the right place. It feels clickier than the Razer also, which is a mixed bag for me but seems good for gaming. I like this mouse very much and Im excited to sit down and use it.

> 3 dayIve been a Logitech fan for years now since I first started PC gaming. I wont lie I havent really tried anything else outside of Logitech but I do own just about every main mice in their gaming lineup. The G403, G502, G Pro, G302 and G300s. I always wanted to try the MX518 for its shape but never had the chance until now. I have to say this is arguably the most comfortable mouse Iv ever used. The shape feels similar to the G502 but it gets rid of the non essentials on that mouse and is much lighter. I very much like the old school look and the gloss finish is gorgeous and feels good to grip. Iv played FPS games almost exclusively my entire life. Battlefield, Overwatch, CS:GO, Titanfall, and now I mostly focus on Quake Champions and Apex Legends. The sensor is perfect in every way, thats not really surprising though since it is Logitech after all. The ergonomics are more suitable for medium to large hands, its definitely a THICC mouse and 100 grams isnt exactly the ideal for FPS but I dont mind it at all since the shape makes up for that. I had no issues adjusting from the 89g G pro going to this. Honestly this is probably going to be my main mouse from now on till I find a better shape but that probably wont happen. PROS - Amazing shape for medium to large hands (palm grip) - Solid construction in good ol Logitech fashion - Gorgeous aesthetics and finish (I dont care for Lamborghini flares or RGB) - Best sensor on the market - No braided cable (I cant stand brained cable. Theyre stiff, catch on everything and fray) - Logitech customer support (they have been amazing in the past) CONS - 100g is not ideal would have like to seen it around 90g - New Logitech G Hub software is not good, I much preferred old software - Doesnt give me Shroud aim
