> 3 dayIts overall pretty nice. Although for how much this thing costs it feels pretty flimsy. The buttons also just stick anything onto it and can get dirty easily, nothing like any mouse Ive ever used. It feels a bit awkward for my ring finger like it has nowhere to go but I ended up clawing the thing the whole time anyways. I always use the middle mouse button to open and close links/tabs and the button started to give away and make a crunched plastic sound but it did go away somehow which was cool... If this product costs maybe half what it is then Id definitely recommend and give 5 stars but it does have some flaws. It performs nicely though its just the flaws really stick to my mind.

> 3 dayGreat mouse that feels just like the classic, but with modern features and better specs. I had moved away from Logitech mice over the years as I wasnt a fan of the design and feel of the modern lineup, but as soon as I saw the mx518 was back, I had to get it. Although the glossy material looks and feels good, it is a smudge magnet. Often requires cleaning, but its not enough of a detriment to take away from the good. This is for people who like the feel of a big round medium weight mouse. I dont often switch sensitivities, but having a button that resets to the default of your choosing is fantastic for those accidental presses. Simple 2 side button configuration, and a deep left thumb recess also helps with accidental presses.

> 3 dayPros: -It fits in my hand perfectly. Ive used so many different mice over the years (Razer, Logitech, even the Intellimouse 2.0) and none of them ever fit my hand comfortably. I switch between claw and palm grips and this mouse accommodates both of my styles amazingly. -While the dented metal is indeed gone, the new plastic has glitter all under it which makes it look really nice compared to the old got hit by a baseball bat 500 times MX518. -Cord length is pretty long Cons: -The scroll wheel. Yeah, it has to said. Its not the worst one in the world and it works fine, but it just feels so awkward to scroll with this mouse half the time. Sometimes it works normally but other times it kinda feels like its scraping against something. (Edit: The scraping against something feel is gone. Wear overtime mustve fixed it) -The area where I rest my palm easily gets moist thanks to the new plastic shell, but its not really an annoyance to me. Id rather have the palm rest get moist over the thumbgrips (cough razer... cough)

Greater than one weekDisclosure: I am not a gamer. I needed to replace the Logitech M500 mouse (RIP) Ive been using for nearly 20 years. I am retired and have some hobbies. I thought I could improve on my efforts by up-grading my mouse. This is the 3rd Logitech mouse in as many weeks (Thank you Amazon for making returns so easy). The MX518 is supposed to be the descendant of my M500. I had decided to give up on programmable buttons and wireless so this seemed to be the obvious choice. Wrong! One of the most useful features of the M500 was what is referred to as hyperscroll. Guess what was removed from the MX518?. Add to that, the optics have been changed and are not very reliable. Logitech software is questionable. Returned to Amazon.

23-11-2024I bought the original MX518 in 2009 and it lasted me until 2020. 11 years! I had to replace it with another MX518 and it timed up perfectly with the new release of the MX518. I thought I was lucky. Most of what made the original MX518 great was how durable it was. Again, 11 years! The moment I got the new one, I couldnt help but notice the cord on it is absolutely pitiful compared to the old mouse. And lo and behold, my kitten chewed through it. The mouse is still functional, but if the cords quality is bad, I assume the rest of the mouse was made as cheaply as possible. I honestly think I could break through this cord with my fingernails. This mouse came from Logitech so its not an issue of 3rd party seller. Logitech, please dont cut corners on quality. I have $3 usb-c cords with thicker covering than this $60 mouse.

> 3 dayI wanted to try this style of mouse out after using the Microsoft IntelliMouse for years. My palm style grip makes this mouse uncomfortable to use, the most comfortable way I can hold this mouse with a palm grip is at a 45 degree angle counter clockwise so that my index and middle finger are over the right mouse button. If you have a claw grip this may not be an issue at all but for a palm grip the mouse just seems too small and at a weird angle. The thumb and DPI adjustment buttons are nice and the mouse appears to be pretty durable and made with good materials. I just recommend figuring out what type of grip you have before you buy a mouse because if youre a palm gripper this is probably not the mouse for you - Im going back to the IntelliMouse.

> 3 dayMy husband has had this same model mouse for many years. When his old mouse started to break down, he searched for a replacement, trying everything from a very cheap mouse to a very VERY expensive gaming mouse. None of them were quite what he wanted. Finally, we found this same model on Amazon, and immediately ordered it! Hes thrilled, and Im considering ordering another one (or more!) as a backup, just in case this model has been discontinued when he needs another one. Its hard to find a mouse that fits just right, and this one is perfect for him. From other reviews, I see that this particular mouse is a well-loved model, and its not just my husband who thinks its perfect!

> 3 dayThe original MX518 introduced this shape, which I consider the perfect mouse size and shape, at least for my (on the large side) hands. It was then reused in the G5, G500 and G500s, some of the best mice of all time. I had been reluctantly using a G502 Proteus Core for the last couple of years, because I couldnt find anything else to replace my G500 with when it died. I was never really happy with the G502 though, so when I heard they were bringing back the MX518, but with a modern sensor, I jumped on it. It was a day one order for me. Now that I have it I am very happy with it. I love the feel of the shape in my hand, and its subtle looks without all the crazy disco lighting they put on all products these days. Not everything is perfect though, which is why it doesnt get 5 stars. 1.) It is VERY light. If you like a light mouse (that is the gaming trend today) then I suppose that is great. I dont. Ive always liked heavy peripherals. The G5 and G500 allowed you to add weights with a cool weight cartridge on the bottom. This mouse lacks that feature. IN the end I wound up ordering 3 ounces (85g) of weighted tungsten, taking off the cover, and sticking it inside the mouse to almost double the weight. Its much more to my liking now. It would have been better if it had a cartridge like the G5 and G500 though. (and not like the one in the G502, it is much worse, and lighter) 2.) The scroll wheel is a definite downgrade compared to the G502. This is the only thing I miss from the G502. It feels cheap and less precise compared to the one on the G502. Give this mouse a weight cartridge like the G5/G500 and a better scroll wheel, and it might just be the perfect mouse. Or they could - you know - just bring back the G500 with modern optics as well.
