> 3 dayIm not really a mouse enthusiast, but I know what I like. I was using an old Logitech wireless mouse for work (at home), and it would cause me to develop pain in my hand if I used to for too long. I remembered I had a MX510 in the early 2000s and LOVED that mouse. So thinking I was being thrifty, I went onto a popular online auction site, thinking I could find one for dirt cheap... I mean who wants a weird shaped mouse from the early 2000s? $70 Starting price, $200+ New. I refused to pay that for a mouse (especially a used one), and settled on the G403, it was not the same as my beloved MX510 but it was A LOT better than the tiny Logitech I was using. I saw recently that there was a re-release of this mouse... I was thrilled. I waited patiently for the US version as I did not want to wait a month+ for one to be imported from Hong Kong. Wow, let me tell you... The design is exact. The feel is exact, even down to the rubber cable. I can use this mouse for hours on end, and never get pain in my hand. A lot of people hate this design, but I love it. I use it to game, and work, and it preforms flawlessly. I booted up Unreal Tournament 99 just for the pure nostalgia... Ive certainly lost my touch over the years, but the mouse felt just like I remember.

Greater than one weekI got this mouse even though I already have the Logitech Hero G502 Hero mostly out of nostalgia for the ones Ive had like it in the past. When I first got the G502 it felt different, I wasnt used to it, so I always wanted something more like the MX518, but after trying it all over again I realize I like my G502 better, which feels better in my hand and has the thumb rest as well. Nothing wrong the the MX518 and thats why Im still giving it 5 stars, just a matter of preference, but if you ask me, get the Logitech G502 Hero, even if you arent a gamer.

> 3 dayIve been involved in the pc gaming community for a good amount of years now, mainly playing fps games like counterstrike, call of duty, overwatch, and so forth to apex now; so, Ive used a good deal of mice over the years, to name some: Zowie fk-1, zowie ec1-A, logitech g703, logitech g203, Logitech g403, and the razer deathadder, and none of them feel as comfortable to hold (palm/claw hybrid) and as precise as the hero sensor in this revamped version of the mx518. Ive always heard good things about the original mx518, but I could never justify spending upwards of $150 for new one or upwards of $50 for a used one that typically had some sort of functional or cosmetic damage. When Logitech announced the mx518 remake I immediately ordered one and I already love it. It feels very comfortable to grip, has a nice look to it (I like the smooth, sparkly design on top that has a sort of ombre effect going from a dark black at the base of the mouse to a lighter grey at the top of the mouse that reminds me of the original mx518s color), and like I mentioned before the hero 16k feels like one of the smoothest, most responsive sensors Ive used in a while. First impressions, 10/10. Ill make an edit in the future after Ive used it for different games. Thanks for bringing the legend back Logitech! Edit: 2/28/19 Pros: - Great ergonomics for right hand mouse users - Design is simple, but looks great. This mouse does not have any RGB or lighting, which isnt a problem with me but could be to someone who wants a mouse with lighting for their flashy set up. - The cord is rubberized and is thinner than other Logitech mice Ive used before like the g203 (rubber) and the g403 (braided), which is nice because it fits into my mouse bungee a little easier but isnt so thin that it slides around or comes out. - This mouse weighs 101 grams which isnt the lightest mouse on the market but still feels very manageable and slides across the surface of my mouse pad with ease. - Hero 16k sensor is one of the best optical sensors on the market right now, feels very responsive and I definitely feel a difference in performance over the g203 I was using before getting the mx518. Cons: - The only issue Ive had so far with this mouse is the glossy surface. Although its sufficiently grippy and aesthetically pleasing (to me, might not be your cup of tea), if you have sweaty hands residue does build up on the surface. Nothing a quick wipe wont fix though.

Greater than one weekMy husband is a huge techie and gamer, and this mouse is the one that hes been using for years. This mouse is very hard to destroy. The padding on the bottom will wear out WELL before this mouse does. Im not really a mouse user and I usually utilize either my stylus pen or my PlayStation 4 controller to do stuff for long periods of time in the computer. I dont have the most ergonomic setup and so using a mouse really hurts my wrist. When my husband gave me his old spare, basically a lesser quality Mouse than this one but basically the same design and company, it felt like smooth milk under my hands encasing an egg. I know that doesnt really make sense but, thats what I feel. That Mouse recently died after about a decade of heavy usage (searing hot wire especially at the base) and I got this one and since Ive been using it, I feel like I am able to browse with it for hours before I start feeling any strain in my arm. For a period of time I was using another cheap mouse and after about 15 minutes of usage, my wrist started getting pins and needles in it. Oh my gosh, it was awful. And I ordered this right away when my husband told me to get it as a replacement. After resting my arm, I was still nervous that I would start to get pins and needles but after using this mouse... NOTHING! It really doesnt matter what quality Mouse you use for your computer. As I said, I dont have the most ergonomic setup. The table I sit in front of is a little tiny bit higher than what it should be for my hand when Im resting my elbow on the arm of my office chair. However this mouse feels so good but I can still go hours just using it without the controller, in total comfort. As I also said before, my husband is a major techie and gamer (he builds and repairs computers and games/browses for HOURS on his computer and this is the only mouse he swears by. He bought several and he only ever sticks with one thing if it works, like me ^^

> 3 dayWhen I saw that some spin-off Logitech company, Logitech G, was remaking the MX518 mouse I was ecstatic. The MX518 was the best mouse Id ever used and since mine broke after ~7 years of use I had been looking to replace it. It may look and feel like the Logitech MX518 but it is not. My Logitech G MX518 is *already failing after only 3 months*! It has begun interpreting single clicks as double clicks. The button switch is failing. I do not recommend buying this mouse if you think you are getting a Logitech MX518. This mouse isnt it despite the name. *edit*: The Logitech RMA process is now terrible. Even after I took a video of myself using the mouse showing the defect while holding a piece of paper the tech support refused to honor the warranty. They tried to claim that my firmware version wasnt up to date (on my mouse?!) and then hung up on me *2* times while I was waiting on hold. The only way to get them to approve the RMA was to get angry and yell at them at which point suddenly the firmware version didnt matter (it never did, its a bad switch). DONT BUY LOGITECH.

> 3 dayThis mouse is a bit too light for my preferences. I also dislike the build quality of the scroll wheel; it feels flimsy and is too easy to over scroll. I know that may sound ridiculous, but I like my scroll wheels to be a bit a weightier and require more force to move between each discrete position. This just ends up feeling imprecise to me—not that the scroll wheel is actually giving imprecise readings. The side buttons are nice; I have no complaints about them. Theyre well positioned, made of a solid plastic, nice and clicky, and easy to reprogram with 3rd party software (and I imagine w/ the Logitech software as well, but I have no need for that as I already have a very good system for creating macros/shortcuts and the like). Some of the materials of the mouse feel cheap. I very much dislike the choice of a metallic material for the top buttons/surface of the mouse. It doesnt feel nice to the touch, its visually unappealing, and it also collects grease/smudges easily. As for the responsiveness; no complaints. As far as I can tell it lives up to the claims of being high precision.

> 3 dayIn 2005, I bought a mouse for my first gaming computer. That mouse happened to be the Logitech MX510. I have used it since then, and its gone through everything with me. Its been around the world, to school with me, and the military. Finally, the cord started to fail after 15 faithful years. I could hear the constant disconnecting/connecting jingle during casual use or gaming. I knew they came out with the MX518 Legendary, and I finally decided it was time. The weight is a little lighter, the feel is the exact same (in a good way), but its a bitter sweet moment. The MX518 legendary is perfect, and If you decide to buy it, I hope you appreciate it as others have before you for its legacy. It doesnt have RGB or a million programmable buttons, but man does it ride smooth. This is a fully restored muscle car... not a Ferrari. If you can understand that, then youll fall in love with it.

> 3 dayI have owned just about every mouse over the years for gaming. (Last used was the Razer Deathadder). I have also owned the original version of this mouse many years ago and it lasted me about 6 years. I can say with absolute certainty that this is the best mouse on the market at the moment. It is built just like the original, and feels exactly the same as I remember just with upgraded internals. What makes this mouse the best? The simplistic design with no frills.. Works as intended every time and is comfortable for extended use. Cant ask for more... Thank You Logitech for bringing back the best!

Greater than one weekI dont know what it is about Logitech mice and the right click failing, but its happened on every mouse Ive bought from them. From my favorite mouse of all time (G9 original) to a 400s, and now an MX518 something needs to be done to remedy this common problem. I cant find a click spec for this mouse, standard MTBF for a decent mouse back in the day was 1 million clicks... I know for sure Im not right clicking a million times, nor has the button ever broke, as in its always still clicked but it seems like they all start double clicking randomly on their own after some time. Its a real shame because they seem more durable than most mice (Ive broken 2 Corsair mice buttons just by clicking) but something inside isnt registering the click or is somehow registering it twice even those the click sound is still crisp and nothing seems broken (no rattling). So who knows. I bought this mouse a few months after release, I thought it was a G5 replacement but apparently MX518 is its own brand, still its the classic G5 shape and its super comfy to use. When I got mine it was $60, Id be looking elsewhere if it wasnt basically half price at this point, that being said I bought another one. Id recommend this at $30-40 but not any more.

Greater than one weekThe best mouse ever made just got better. I noticed that the chord and texture is improved over the original.
