> 3 dayGreat mouse that feels just like the classic, but with modern features and better specs. I had moved away from Logitech mice over the years as I wasnt a fan of the design and feel of the modern lineup, but as soon as I saw the mx518 was back, I had to get it. Although the glossy material looks and feels good, it is a smudge magnet. Often requires cleaning, but its not enough of a detriment to take away from the good. This is for people who like the feel of a big round medium weight mouse. I dont often switch sensitivities, but having a button that resets to the default of your choosing is fantastic for those accidental presses. Simple 2 side button configuration, and a deep left thumb recess also helps with accidental presses.

Greater than one weekMy husband is a huge techie and gamer, and this mouse is the one that hes been using for years. This mouse is very hard to destroy. The padding on the bottom will wear out WELL before this mouse does. Im not really a mouse user and I usually utilize either my stylus pen or my PlayStation 4 controller to do stuff for long periods of time in the computer. I dont have the most ergonomic setup and so using a mouse really hurts my wrist. When my husband gave me his old spare, basically a lesser quality Mouse than this one but basically the same design and company, it felt like smooth milk under my hands encasing an egg. I know that doesnt really make sense but, thats what I feel. That Mouse recently died after about a decade of heavy usage (searing hot wire especially at the base) and I got this one and since Ive been using it, I feel like I am able to browse with it for hours before I start feeling any strain in my arm. For a period of time I was using another cheap mouse and after about 15 minutes of usage, my wrist started getting pins and needles in it. Oh my gosh, it was awful. And I ordered this right away when my husband told me to get it as a replacement. After resting my arm, I was still nervous that I would start to get pins and needles but after using this mouse... NOTHING! It really doesnt matter what quality Mouse you use for your computer. As I said, I dont have the most ergonomic setup. The table I sit in front of is a little tiny bit higher than what it should be for my hand when Im resting my elbow on the arm of my office chair. However this mouse feels so good but I can still go hours just using it without the controller, in total comfort. As I also said before, my husband is a major techie and gamer (he builds and repairs computers and games/browses for HOURS on his computer and this is the only mouse he swears by. He bought several and he only ever sticks with one thing if it works, like me ^^

> 3 dayFirst Id like to say it arrived looking new, was problem free for about a week, and Amazon handled my return request without any pain or suffering. 5 stars to Amazon. As for product it has a nice fit and finish but Im taking 4 stars off for the weird internal problems. Im just thankful this happened while it was returnable. Now for the review: This item looks to be for the international marketplace (I dont know if that matters, it does not seem to be a Chinese knock off product although it is about half the price of the original released years ago), it has Chinese and English all over the box. Material quality is good but compared to the original MX518 it is lighter and the USB line is thinner and more fragile looking. It did link with with the Logitech gaming software once I updated the software to the current version and all functions worked as expected. Worked as good as the original MX518 up until it had problems. I had to return it because after a week my #5 button forward stopped working for no apparent reason. I tried it in another computer and then the left click had problems. I could right click something and left click from the drop down and it worked, but if I tried to left click anything else it would not select it, not even the X in the corner of a window. I should mention the second computer is a laptop and the MX518 caused the touchpad left click to have the same problem and the problem persisted even after the mouse was unplugged. Thankfully restarting after unplugging cleared the problem until I plugged the MX518 in again. With mouse plugged in and computer restarted the problem persisted with the two different computers respectively. Due to the odd problems this mouse started having I cannot in good conscience recommend it. Edit: I thought I bought from the main seller (Logitech or Amazon) but am now seeing Sold by: Safe N Quick after returning it. Which doesnt even sell the mouse currently and if I go to the items main product page it is Sold by: Logitech® Official. Also as I noted before the box It came in has Chinese on it. Where as other customer reviews have a box with only English as you would expect from Logitech in the USA. So I guess...Be careful at checkout with this product.

> 3 dayI upgraded to this from an old (really old) MX500 that I have been using on and off for a good 15 years. Everything about this new one is so much better, except for two things: The teflon pads on the bottom are razor thin, and even just putting the weight of my hand on the mouse causes it to flex enough so that other parts of the mouse begin dragging on my mouse pad. The second is that they replaced the scroll one line buttons on either side of the wheel with DPI up/down buttons. I find the scroll buttons would be so much more useful.

03-06-2025Not like the original but still a good mouse. Its lighter and doesnt come with the grip on the inside of the mouse. Also feels a bit smaller, but not by much. As other reviewers have mentioned, it does feel more plastic-y than the original. Still keeping it but a little disappointed.

> 3 dayThis mouse is not identical to the original MX518. Lets get that out of the way first. Its a little bit lighter in weight, and some people complain about the cord not being braided or something. Are these deal killers? Not for me. If your MX518 is wearing out and you want a modern replacement, go ahead, try a half-dozen other mice to see if they fit your hand. I did. And I came back to the G MX518 because I like the ergonomics so much. The upgraded sensor is just icing on the cake. I like the new paintjob, too. No problems in several months daily use for surfing and gaming. Recommended.

> 3 dayI previously routed the mouse to the back of the computer through a cable routing grommet hole in my desk. However, after just a week or so, I found the cable shielding had some obvious wear where it rubbed on that plastic grommet. Now Im wrapping it up and running through the USB pas through on the keyboard. But the typical rubber/plastic shielding just tends to offer more resistance than a braided cable. If nothing else, making a replaceable or removable usb cable would be well received. As many others, I once owned a mx510 in red, back in the day. This is a familiar friend, and with the new sensor and feet design, I hope it lasts as long as the original did.

> 3 dayThis is the best mouse for my 7.5 inched right hand which allows every part of it to fall correctly on all critical spots for maximum control on the mouse, for me, a 1-2-2 grip with the ring finger draped over the right-side lip. Excellent improvements: 100 grams which is much lighter, Hero sensor which is the best in my opinion, Clicks which are louder but very accurate/tactile, Smaller wire seems more durable. Cons: the wheel is quite bad, but you get used to it and it does its job just doesnt feel assured in hand. The wheel is the only skimping Logitech has done with this mouse. Its the same side buttons which I think could be improved over the original designs MX518, G400, G400s, but eh, it gets the job done, but just not ergo enough and could have been improved (position and feel). I dont see any better mouse for the Large to almost Extra-Large hand. Otherwise, the lip on the right will probably bother you (as others complain about it, while I see it as vital to what makes this mouse so perfect), as will the index and middle finger buttons (my fingers fall perfectly on them - no overshoot or undershoot, its perfect! positioning FOR ME).
