Aug 10 2021 Edit: I am updating my review after a year and a half of using the mouse, And I must give it 5 stars for consistency without material loss (comparing a different mouse I was using beforehand). This mouse is a beast, fit perfectly for small hand, comfortable and reliable. I guess I wouldnt be switching Logitech with any other, tried it before and got disappointed. This is a perfect mouse - highly recommended! ---- First review: Using this mouse for a couple of months now. Ill go right into it: Pros *Perfect ergonomic (for my hand) *Programmable buttons *Manual DPI adjusting via a software - works well *Simple and beautiful design (A matter of taste really) Cons *The cable feels cheap, doesnt looks like itll last long *The materials doesnt feel top notch like another mouse I had from a different company. Overall: 4 out of 5 Sum: I wish they would use a better cable and a higher quality plastics. But even with that its an amazing mouse, fit perfectly for small/medium hands, accurate for gaming, great software, works flawlessly.

    Greater than one week

Been a big fan of the Logitech M510s for the ergonomics this is very similar but hardwired so no worries about batteries or where the dongle is, which is better for my gaming desktop. This largely met my expectations. Unlike the 510 scroll wheel is stiff and makes noise and lacks side to side function. Usable but coming from Logitech M510 my expectations where higher.

Got this yesterday and have logged several hours on it already playing shooters and while the shape is nothing that new, the sensor is extraordinary. You could perform surgery with this thing. The feel of this mouse isnt quite as solid or quality as I would think but its not that bad. The shape is pretty good but I find I have a hard time finding a comfortable spot for my pinky. Its not a huge deal and nothing that would keep me from using it. Again, the sensor is the best Ive ever used and I presently own literally a dozen gaming mice. I usually buy one ever 4 or 5 months. So comfort Id give this a 7.5 with the DeathAdder being a 10. Build Quality Id also give a 7.5. It doesnt feel cheap but it doesnt feel high quality either. Performance Id give a 10. Easily the best, most accurate sensor on the market and Logitechs gaming software is second to none. So yeah, for $60 this is easily worth it. Highly recommended.

I wanted a replacement for the Logitech G5, not that there was anything wrong with it. But a 1600 DPI laser mouse on a 4K monitor doesn’t work. So, the 518 has the look, feel and ergonomics of the G5, and I am a fan all the way!

And better than ever. I am not going to write a long review other than it is a great mouse. Sensor is accurate and doesnt do weird interpolation, smoothing or acceleration like some others do. Skates hold up well, clicks are a little loud though. If you are use to the MX518, G400 series, etc then this mouse will feel fine. Good for the palm grip people and weird finger/palm grip I have. Just be sure to use it on a good mouse pad. These sensor is VERY good. It will pick up things and cause your cursor to jump. If you have a good one, keep it clean. I recommend it be used on a hard mouse pad and not a cloth one. Glides smoother.

The classic Logitech MX518 was the best mouse Ive ever owned. Everything about it always just felt right. Years ago I finally wore out the one Id had for nearly a decade and was sad I couldnt replace it. Thats no longer the case! This not be the same internals (its much more modern inside, duh) but the externals feel is EXACTLY the same. It just feels right in the hand. I could not be more pleased at having one in hand again. Best. Feeling. Mouse. Ever.

Disclaimer: I never used the original MX518 made around a decade ago. So far, I’ve got to say that I really love this mouse. You may be asking, why did I choose this retro styled mouse over some of the other mice? 1. In my opinion, It’s a nice break from the sharp, sleek, and flashy geometric designs from modern gaming mice and other gaming equipment. The MX518 does what it needs to do without over complicating itself. 2. The old school soft and rounded aesthetic of the MX518 feels very comfortable in palm, fingertip, and claw gripping styles. 3. The cord isn’t braided. Sure, this can be looked as a negative in durability, but it’s nice to not deal with fraying and cord friction that can mess with mouse movement. 4. The unbraided cord is also very flexible and extremely light to the point where it feels borderline nonexistent. It doesn’t feel cheap despite this. 5. It’s slightly lighter than the Razor Deathadder and has excellent weight balance. 6. The MX518 has the same (HERO) sensor as Logitech’s $100+ flagship mice. 7. The mouse has programmable buttons for assigning macros, keybinds, on the fly DPI changing, and the ability to store and switch between multiple mouse profiles. The mouse profiles can be assigned to games for automatic, immediate swapping when the games are launched. With the MX518 praise out of the way, there are some things to consider before buying the mouse. 1. The MX518 was designed for right handed use only. 2. The mouse is fairly big, some users with smaller hands may find it uncomfortable. 3. If you have long fingers and like to palm grip, you may hate the left and right click buttons. They don’t fully extend over the edge of the mouse and your fingertips may hit the plastic form that wraps around it. 4. The features on this retro styled mouse may appear too basic without the flashy lighting, infinite scrolling, weight changing, grip swapping, and other features found in modern mice design. 5. The buttons below and above the mouse wheel may be tricky to reach depending on your grip style and finger length. The mouse wheel itself has a somewhat narrow and rubbery feel that may feel weird to some users. TLDR: I personally think the MX518 is one of the best mice I have used in comfort and performance, but the older design style and lack of modern gimmicks may not be everyone.

My biggest grievance with the mouse is that it became available AFTER I replaced my previous Logitech G4 mouse with a Logitech G403. Now the G403 I bought is a fine mouse, but I had been using that old G4 for like 7 years, and I had grown very accustomed to its shape. This new MX518 has a shape just like my old G4, and therefore I prefer it over my G403, which I now keep as a backup. I suppose the MX518 could be a little better with a braided cable like my G403, but thats really not enough of a detraction for me to not give this 5 stars.

I upgraded to this from an old (really old) MX500 that I have been using on and off for a good 15 years. Everything about this new one is so much better, except for two things: The teflon pads on the bottom are razor thin, and even just putting the weight of my hand on the mouse causes it to flex enough so that other parts of the mouse begin dragging on my mouse pad. The second is that they replaced the scroll one line buttons on either side of the wheel with DPI up/down buttons. I find the scroll buttons would be so much more useful.
